Hi it's Sarah. Welcome back or welcome if you are new. I'm so happy you are here
for another cozy winter decorating video. Today we're decorating my kitchen nook
and adding a few winter touches to my hutch as well. This space includes my
table, the shelves and even a little cabinet I have over here. I'm keeping
things simple after the holidays just adding some winter greenery, cozy candles
and a few subtle decor pieces to keep a calm and peaceful. Stick around as I
bring this nook together for winter and I'd love to hear from you too. Let me
know how you decorate after the holidays and what little touches make your space
feel cozy this time of year. I hope you find a little inspiration for your own
home in today's video. Thank you so much for watching and I hope you enjoy. I know
after Christmas it can feel a little empty or hard for some. That's why I love
decorating for winter. It just makes the house feel cozy and calm again. I'm not
talking big holiday stuff, just little touches to make it feel warm and lived
in. I love layering soft textures, neutral colors and simple details to make a
space feel inviting. It's simple but it makes home feel like home for the season.
So here's everything after giving it a nice wipe down. It definitely needed it.
I always like to start with a clean undecorated space. Starting fresh just
makes everything feel more manageable and it helps me really picture how I
want the space to come together. It is like the perfect blank canvas to layer
in my favorite pieces, mix textures and create little areas that feel
intentional and cozy. I also feel when I rush past this step the whole space feels
cluttered before I even start. So taking a few extra minutes here always makes
the rest of the decorating process so much more enjoyable. We are starting here
with these two shelves my husband bought for me over eight years ago for my
birthday and somehow they never get old. I still love decorating them for every
single season and holiday. I've had a few people mention that these shelves might
be too high but with our super tall ceilings having them placed higher
actually works. It helps dry your eye up and really fills the space so the room
feels open and balanced instead of bottom-heavy and with the table sitting
next to them they don't feel in the way at all. Nothing gets bumped so I think
the height just makes sense for this room.
Moving over here to my table I'm starting with this basket as the anchor
piece. It gives this vignette a home base and the perfect starting point for
layering. I added different heights with a scallop cake stand from Walmart
that I just love and of course a cozy candle some winter greenery and a few
more cute decor pieces. I love how it turned out as sometimes less really is
more and this little vignette proves it.
Moving over here I felt this space needed something when I took my tree
away for the fall and winter months so I put this little cabinet here and I've
loved having it. I might end up keeping it here for good I think it really fits
the space well and I'm really enjoying decorating it. Again I'm keeping it simple
with some more greenery and a few winter pieces here at the top. I love using
candles including flameless ones in my home year-round and this pinecone
candle from Amazon adds such a cozy seasonal touch. On the shelves I'm adding
it back some of my dishes and bowls with this embossed pattern. I think they're so
pretty. Along with a basket of some cloth napkins instead of storing them away I'm
using them as part of my decor.
All right we are done with this space and this little winter nook honestly
makes me so happy. It is simple and not overdone and just right for the season. I
love how it all came together from the soft textures to the little details that
make it feel calm and cozy without feeling cluttered. It's one of those
spots that make you just want to slow down and enjoy the season and let me
know what you think down below in the comments. Now we're going to decorate
this arched cabinet which I like to use more like a hutch and I'm honestly so so
happy with how it turned out. It is more simple than what I usually do but I
think that's why I love it so much. It might be even one of my favorite
decorating moments so far. It feels calm and cozy and exactly the winter vibe I
was going for. When I style a piece like this I always like to start with a few
larger statement pieces to anchor everything then I layer in smaller
details to add depth and interest. It really doesn't take much just a few
thoughtful touches can make a space feel pulled together without ever feeling
cluttered.
All right that's it for today. I hope you enjoyed the video as much as I love
putting it together. Thank you so much for watching all the way to the end. It
truly means the world to me. If you made it this far leave me a white heart so I
know you stayed with me. Wishing you the coziest winter season and sending love
to you all and I'll see you in the next one. Take care!
