This is Nellie. Some of you might recognise her from my previous adventures and she was my home
on wheels for a long time before the van. But unfortunately it is coming to a point where I
can't keep both Nellie and Tinnie, the new van, so I am gonna have to say goodbye to her. But before
I do that I thought I'd spend one final night in a do it the right way, say goodbye the proper way.
So let's get the final adventure in Nellie started. She's sadly been failing for a while now
and I've reached the point where I can't keep fixing her and I've got the van now so I don't
need Nellie as well. This will be my final night in her before she goes to a new home, someone who
has the time and the energy and the money to fix her up and use her like she's new again. There's
nothing crazy wrong with her, she's just got a few faults that I just can't do myself and don't
have the time or energy to do. It's gonna be weird not having her. Nellie, also known as Nell-Nells.
I don't really know how to do this setup but I've got my mattress from the van, I've got all my
covers and stuff and then I've also got some cardboard for the windows. I'm hoping that'll
give me a little bit of privacy. I'm not really sure how to do it, I've never actually slept in
the back of my car like this. I used to have a roof tent on the top from roof bunk, now there's
nothing. She's stripped bare, she's ready for sale, she's a little bit dirty, I will give her a clean
but I don't know how to do it. Let's try. I'm gonna try and start off with the mattress, get the
cardboard all sorted. I'm thinking it's gonna be alright. I've actually split my mattress up so
that I've got one piece to kind of go like this, well not like that, kind of like this. So that
gives me cover from the front part which is already all of those windows sorted. I think that'll do for
the mattress. It's definitely nothing fancy for this setup, I'm literally going back to basic
stripping it bare. I've got some grapes for later, I've got a good book, I've got my pyjamas, it's
gonna be a nice night. Just sending Nellie off in the right way but it is cold, I want to get in.
I think we've kind of transformed her there. She looks like an actual car camper and that is so
easy. The hard bit is probably going to be covering up the windows. I've just got loads of boxes that
I've rescued from the tip, all sorts of places. Got a lot of cardboard. I'm gonna try and just
layer it around and make it work. I don't really have a plan, I just thought that'll do.
It is dropping to minuses again tonight so I have got my trusty Thermarest sleeping bag with me
just because I don't have an actual duvet. So I thought I'll just get a fluffy blanket and have
my sleeping bag and that'll do for the night. I'm just gonna get in and then do the cardboard.
I'm not entirely sure how to get in but I'm gonna go with this.
It's a bit awkward, I will say. I've got mud on my pants. Come on inside. I'm just gonna go
with like that but I don't know how to attach them. That would have probably been
a better idea is figuring out how to attach them first but hey we're gonna make it work.
It's not pretty but it works. It will. I will make it work. That's effective.
That's fallen down but it's okay. I'll just pull my stuff down a bit. Well I have completed
one window. That back thing, I don't know, you can't really see. My cover for the front keeps
falling so that is gonna have to be fixed but I think I know how to fix it. I'm on to window number
two. Sheer force and determination is what will make these fit just like that. Number two.
Actually before I get this properly set up and block off the front, let me tell you about this
very cool gadget that I've been using at the moment. I have it properly wired and set up in
the van but it is my dash cam. My Wolfbox G900 Pro dash cam and it looks like my rear view mirror.
I have got it properly set up in the van but obviously I'm driving Nelly today. I wanted to
make sure that I'm nice and safe and it is also part of my insurance to have a dash cam. It just
lowers your insurance prices a bit but what's cool about this one is it works both as my rear view
mirror but also as a dash cam. I can see the footage in real life. I have an app on my phone
to see it. I can get it up like this. I can go on it and see the footage and I can switch with voice
control as well between it so I can say turn on screen and that will show me what it's recording.
I can tell it to take pictures, to record, loads of different stuff. My favourite part about it is
definitely the fact that no matter what the weather or no matter what the daylight is I will
always have clear footage which is perfect for insurance purposes. I'll link it in the description
if you do want to check it out. Let's try and sort this bit out shall we? Okay what I'm thinking
for this bit is if I literally just put this as like a barrier to stop it from falling
I might be a genius. Oh I don't know if you fell or not. I can't tell the amount of times I've
dropped you. Big fat fail people. I've failed. My thinking was wrong. I'm going in with a different
approach. I can't see but I'm hoping this approach is more successful than my previous one. Kind of
sort of a little bit. I've got a gap but it's better than nothing. Right so I've got two windows
done and a back wall. I need to figure out the back window. I don't know how to do that but I'll
figure it out. You know what this is actually a lot harder than I thought it was gonna be
but it's okay because I will get it done eventually but I am hungry. I do want dinner soon.
My plan for the back window is just to split that and then create a barrier.
Oh my grapes have fallen. If I sleep with one leg up I'll be fine. The method is very interesting
at this current moment but I'm getting somewhere. I'm moulding it to the shape of the window.
If you can't tell that's what I'm doing. I'm trying my best. I'm gonna do it. I will.
I'm eating some grapes. I think it's time we make some dinner. It is only about half past four
but I do want food and the grapes really aren't doing it for me. After I make dinner I can read
my book, put my PJs on. It's a happy night. I am absolutely starving. I don't know why.
I'll show you my escape route. It's very simple.
Voila! I think I've actually made a pretty good deal with this. Where have I put my stuff now?
Have I actually? I've left it in the back. Honestly I will say that it feels really weird
being in Nelly for the last time. It's an end of an era. I'm just gonna make myself some dinner.
I have a real termite meal. I'm on a new one I've never tried before. Creamy salmon with pasta.
Thought I'd give it a go and I've actually used weight. Be proud of me. I have an actual fork.
Right. How much do I need? 390 millilitres. That's good. Oh gosh. Couldn't be me if I
didn't drop you once. I'm so excited for this. Clambering in the back. Wow. That was actually
alright. Put my window cover back up. There we go. You know what time it is.
If you've been here before and if you've not, learn.
I'll be back in eight minutes. It's been eight minutes.
Just a warm meal and a good book. That's all I've got but I'm perfectly content. I'm having a great
time. That smells. I'm not the biggest fan of salmon but everybody's been raving on about
this creamy salmon pasta to me so I'm giving it a go. It's very warm. Yeah, I get that.
Trying not to get my dinner all down myself. That's the aim. I'm watching The House of the
Dragon I think it's called. I finished Game of Thrones. It's very good. It is getting pretty
chilly. I think I'm going to settle in for the night. Try and get some sleep. It is around half
past eight right now so I might listen to my audiobook for a bit but I'm really tired. It's
pretty cold. There is quite a lot of condensation inside of here as well so I think I'm going to
crack the windows open a little bit further. I feel like this is the best way I could have ended
Nellie's life. That sounds so bad. How do I phrase that? This is better. I think this is the best way
I could have ended this chapter of my life, of Nellie's life. She has been on so many incredible
adventures at the time of my life but many more adventures to be had in the van. I will see you
all in the morning. Night. That was a big yawn. Good morning. I now understand the discomfort
of sleeping in the back of your car. It was cold yesterday and last night. It just got
really chilly and having to have the windows open without having wind deflectors as well,
it's not a vibe. It's not. It is about half past eight in the morning. The sun has been rising
slowly since about eight o'clock. It's been getting lighter and lighter. Is it going down
again? This back thing fell down so many times last night and this window fell off and landed
on my head. The back window is now held up by my tripod but that was the most effective window
because my feet are against it so it's kind of holding it in place anyway. But anyway,
that window was fine. That one was good. Even though I didn't sleep very well, I'm very glad
that I did this because not only does it give me like a comparison against the van, it's also just
the best way I would say to give Nellie away. I have to clean her up, get her ready to go. I don't
have anyone that wants to buy her yet but I've got a list. I think I'm just going to put her up
on Facebook Marketplace to be honest. This is how easy this bit goes down. You just knock it.
Oh no, bonk. I think I'm gonna start the engine and put the heat on and then that'll clear some
of the condensation. I'm gonna pack away, get ready to go. Feels really emotional. It's weird.
I don't think I'd feel emotional about a car but it's not just a car. It's the memories
attached to it if you know what I mean. You probably know what I mean. It's a new era.
We've got tinny now. It's a new life. Go on a mission now. Oh, jeepers creepers.
That was a lot less graceful than I could have made it. Well that was my last night in Nellie
and you know what? It really feels like the right way to leave it. I've done exactly what I needed
to do to say goodbye. This little car has taken me on so many adventures, loads of which have
been shared with you but many that happened way before I even started YouTube. I've had the time
of my life. I've been to Europe, beyond and it's time to say goodbye now. This was the perfect way
to end this chapter of my life and I hope you've all enjoyed all of the adventures that were shared
in this little car. I will see you all on our next little adventure. Happy roaming. Bye!
