Part 65 - A Girl Alone Surviving In The Forest | Building a Mud-Walled House by the Stream

Episode 65 Summary:

After finishing a long and exhausting day of work, the girl leaves the construction site and walks along the stream, hoping to find some wild vegetables to supplement her evening meal. However, the search does not bring the results she hoped for. On her way back to the cave, she discovers three ground quail eggs hidden beneath dry grass. Although she is hungry, her kindness prevents her from taking them. She gently leaves the eggs untouched and continues on her way.

Along the familiar forest path, the tiger cub and the young bird run out to greet her. The three walk together beneath the fading afternoon light. On the hilltop, the silhouettes of human and animals move as one, while in the distance, the vast primeval forest stretches endlessly. The peaceful and silent scenery carries a quiet sense of melancholy, but the chill in the air quickly fades as the girl steps inside the cave. The warmth of the fire, the first true feeling of comfort, and a simple meal of smoked venison help her regain strength after a demanding day.

As night falls, the forest is covered in darkness and the sky fills with stars. The night here is completely different from the city sky she once knew — no artificial lights, no traffic noise, only the soft glow of fireflies, the chorus of insects, and the gentle murmur of the stream flowing through the darkness.

When the night passes, the first rays of sunlight shine down upon the small forest. Nocturnal creatures linger briefly to nibble on fresh grass before retreating to their shelters. The morning dew is so pure and clear that one can see their own reflection within it.

The girl awakens alongside the tiger cub and the young bird. Together, they head toward the small stream where her primitive house is gradually taking shape. Near the water’s edge, she discovers a peach tree bearing ripe fruit — a simple breakfast provided by nature. Meanwhile, the tiger cub and the young bird rush into the stream, playing joyfully like innocent children. They eat when hungry, sleep when tired, living a carefree life free of worry — a way of living that feels truly enviable.

After finishing her meal, the girl returns to her work. She splits the bamboo she cut the previous day and assembles it into the framework of the house. With skillful hands, she weaves the bamboo into mesh-like panels to form the structure of the walls. She then cuts thatching grass and mixes it with mud to create a natural binding material, preparing to plaster the walls and slowly complete her shelter in the heart of the wilderness.
