You'll be invited to take part in the two-day selection event at the Assessment Centre
with a group of other candidates. You will all be at the same stage in your application
and will get to work and live together over a couple of days. It is a great taster of what
it is like in the Army and a good opportunity to chat to like-minded people who also want
to join the Army. You'll be staying in a room with other candidates. You'll be given a small
locker to keep your belongings in during your stay. There are bathroom and shower facilities
for your use. The washing and sleeping areas are single-sex. During your stay you'll eat in the
Army Cookhouse with the other candidates. The chefs can cater for special dietary needs so
please make sure that you let your recruiter know in good time if you have any special requirements.
We won't take your mobile phone off for you but you will not have much chance to use them
while you're with us. In the evenings you'll be able to relax and spend time with the other
candidates. There will also be staff available if you'd like to chat to them informally.
You're not allowed to consume alcohol while you're at the Assessment Centre.
Remember that the Assessment Centre is not only our chance to see if you'll make a good soldier
but also your chance to find out more about what life could be like for you serving in the Army.
Our team are there to help you and to answer any questions you have.
Make the most of it, be yourself and enjoy it.
Remember that we want to see who you are and what you're capable of.
