The cathedral has survived fires, earthquakes, and civil wars. It is also famous for the legend of the "Lincoln Imp," a stone carving said to be a demon turned to stone by an angel, which you can still spot high up in the Angel Choir. Beyond the stone and glass, the Cathedral here holds one of the only four surviving original copies of the 1215 Magna Carta.( seen in Lincoln Castle).
