The Most Romantic Proposal EVER | Sam and Monica

The point of this video is I'm going to ask my gorgeous girlfriend Monica to marry me. I'm going to ask her to be my wife. I'm going to break it down for you very very quickly how I'm going to do this. Monica and I started dating on the 16th of October 2015 and I asked her to be my girlfriend while walking along a beach in Nice in the south of France. For our fourth anniversary I'm going to surprise her with a trip back to Nice and on the 16th of October, which is our four-year anniversary, I'm going to rent a yacht for the day, play her a video highlighting everything we've done over the past four years together and showing her how much I love her and then when the video ends I'm going to be on one knee and I'm going to ask her to be my wife. I'm super nervous just thinking about doing this, oh my gosh. Obviously before that I'm going to ask Monica's father for his blessing. I'm going to give him a call and ask for his blessing and right now, the reason I'm nervous right now because it's currently the 13th of August right now, I am just about to head to a jewellers where I'm going to go pick out an engagement ring for Monica. Okay let's do this, let's go to the jewellers, pick out an engagement ring for my future wife. Okay two hours later I've ordered Monica's ring, it's been custom made and I'm picking it up on October the 7th. Oh my gosh it's all done, I paid for the ring. I'm very very excited, let's look forward to October the 7th. I'm going to ask for Monica's father's blessing, surprise her by taking her to the south of France and ask her to be my wife. Slight change of plans, so I was planning originally on telling Monica that I'm surprising her by bringing her to the south of France about a couple of days or so before we leave on the 15th of October. It's currently the 2nd of September right now and Monica's been hinting that she wants to book something for our anniversary, plus her mum is flying over on the 23rd of September and she wants to take her somewhere in Europe, so I feel like I need to tell her now what the anniversary present's going to be. What she doesn't know is on the 16th of October, which is our anniversary, I'm going to ask her to marry me. Obviously I'm not going to tell her that now, but yeah she doesn't know that she's going to come back from this trip as my fiancée, if she says yes. I think of course she does. So you were telling me before, well you weren't telling me, you were trying to guess what our anniversary present was before and you were saying that you probably wanted to book something for us, so I thought just to kind of make sure we don't kind of cross paths, I'll just tell you what it is now. Yeah, I've booked an apartment there and booked our flights for a week from the 15th to the 22nd of October. Honey, that's what I was going to do for you! You're kidding! You're kidding! I'll see you guys when I pick up the ring, ask for a dad's blessing, and then the big day will arrive. Today is the 25th of September and Monica's mum is actually visiting from New York, so I've got the house to myself right now because they've gone off shopping, which leaves me with about an hour to two hours window for me to basically undertake the most nerve-wracking part of this, which is asking for her father's blessing. Thankfully, I'm very, very close with both her parents. I'm very close with her dad and very close with her mum, so I'm pretty confident he's going to say yes, but just out of respect for him, I want to ask him anyway for his blessing before I ask Monica to marry me. Monica is very close with her dad, so I want to do this, even though it's terrifying. I'm going to FaceTime him because, obviously, I'm three and a half thousand miles away from him right now. He lives in New York. I'm not joking, guys. This is the most nervous I've ever been in my life. By the way, if I go, hey, yo, Sean, when I call him, it's because I don't know how it started, but I call him Sean and he calls me Mr. Kingston. I've got no idea, so together we're Sean Kingston. I didn't really want to do this over the phone because I kind of really wanted to do it in person, but, I mean, living three and a half thousand miles away from each other is not really the easiest thing. I'm so in love with Monica. It's insane. I was going to come up with a whole speech, but the fact of the matter is I want to spend the rest of my life with her and I want to ask her to marry me. I was kind of worried you thought it'd be kind of too early, but, I mean, we've been together four years, so. I know a lot of people have been saying it for a while for us to kind of get married because it's easier with visas and stuff like that, but I wanted to kind of really wait until she knew that I was asking her to marry me because I want to spend the rest of my life with her rather than because it's convenient for our relationship. Oh, yeah. I kind of feel like we're at that point now, which is. That's the only way. Yes. Do you remember the other day when we Facetimed and I said I'd rented a yacht for the day, but that got cancelled? Yeah. I was planning on doing it then, on our anniversary, and it got cancelled. So, instead, I found a really cool viewpoint that looks over Monaco, and it's like the nicest view ever. I'm going to ask her on our anniversary on the 16th of October. Oh, yeah? It's the 16th? Yeah. Anyway, I think Monica's mom took it really well. I was actually really happy with her reaction, actually, and how much she was kind of accepting me straight away into her family. It was really reassuring and really nice. I'm glad both her parents are on board, and they're the only two people in the entire world I know. My parents don't know. None of my friends, nobody in the world knows apart from her parents. Let's see how it goes tomorrow, about 24 hours time, I'm going to be proposing. Today's the day. This is my view right now. As you can tell by the sunrise, it's pretty early. I've gone on a two-mile walk to go and collect a car that I've rented for the day, and then basically, we're going to head up to a spot near Monica, while just overlooking Monaco, called La Tête de Chienne, which, if you speak French, means the head of dog, which is weird, but we're going to go there, and I'm going to pop the question there. That is because Sam is going to pick up our rental car, because we are back in Nice, France, where Sam and I first started dating four years ago today. Yes, today is our four-year anniversary, so it's a really special day, but as you can probably tell from my appearance and my voice, I'm very ill. I've never gotten this bad from a cold. I'm assuming it's a cold. Not a good day for me. However, it is, because it's our four-year anniversary, so I can't help but to feel happy and energetic. So, as I said, Sam is going to pick up the rental car, so before he gets back, I got some balloons I'm going to set up. I want to just do it before he gets back, because obviously, he's coming back, and I want to be ready. It's 10.21 in the morning right now. I rented a little mini for the day. I actually love it, to be honest. It's a lovely little car. So, as I was renting this, Monica was getting ready for the day, and basically, what she thinks is she thinks we're just going to Monaco for our anniversary. So, hopefully, it's all going to go well.
