Dog dying off freeway for 5 years

This dog survived 5 YEARS on the I-5 Freeway —
starving, malnourished, missing fur over most of his body, and dying when we found him.
Most people drove past.
Some tried to help and couldn’t.
For years… he kept surviving.

🐾 His name is Coco.

A senior dog with teeth completely filed down from years of fear, stress, and survival.
His skin was raw from chronic flea infestation.
His body tells a story of long-term suffering.
We searched 5 DAYS | 41 HOURS

👣 On foot
🚗 By car
🌡️ Thermal drone & thermal monocular
🌾 Miles of orchards and rough terrain
At 31½ hours, we finally saw him — and failed.
We regrouped. Changed plans. Tried again.

Final night.
BBQ turns on.
Coco appears.
We held our breath…
➡️ HE WENT IN.

After 5 years on the freeway, Coco was finally safe.
He slept 25½ hours.
He ate. He drank.
The next morning — he wagged his tail.
At the vet: anemia and low electrolytes.
Now he’s resting. Healing. Safe.
