Across the island of Sardinia, more than 7,000 massive stone towers still stand, built during the Bronze Age by a society that left no written history, no kings, and no palaces.

These structures, known as nuraghi, dominate the landscape of ancient Europe. But why were so many built? What role did they play in daily life, power, and belief? And how did a non-literate society create one of the densest monumental landscapes in prehistoric Europe?

In this episode of Ancient Mysteries, we explore the Nuragic civilization: its architecture, villages, sacred spaces, ritual practices, and the enduring legacy of its stone towers. This isn’t a story of a “lost” civilization, but of one that transformed an entire island and still resists simple explanations.
