I Was Attacked at Angkor Wat in Cambodia — Then It Got Worse

This is the hardest video I’ve ever made.

I was violently attacked at Angkor Wat in Cambodia—and what happened afterward was even more disturbing. It all happened in an instant and raised serious questions about travel safety in sacred and crowded sites.

This isn’t about fear. It’s about truth, accountability, and what travelers deserve to know.
During a sunrise visit to Angkor Wat—one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in the world—my friend Olivia and I were assaulted by another tourist in front of crowds, guides, and security. Despite repeatedly asking for help, no one intervened. What followed was a deeply troubling experience involving police intimidation, delayed medical care, and attempts to silence us rather than protect us.
I want to be very clear: this video is not an attack on Cambodia or its people. The Cambodian people we met throughout our travels were kind, respectful, and supportive. This story exists because travelers need to understand what can happen when systems fail—and why standing up for yourself and others still matters.

I’ve traveled all over the world, and I’ve never felt this unsafe in a place meant for peace, reflection, and prayer. Everything escalated so quickly that it left me in shock. It took a long time to recover—both physically and mentally—which is why this video took time to share. I’m telling this story not for shock or outrage, but so you can make informed decisions, stay aware, and understand the risks—especially when visiting sacred or crowded destinations.

This video covers:
• Being attacked at a UNESCO World Heritage Site
• What happens when no one steps in
• Police response and intimidation after the assault
• Seeking medical care while being treated like a criminal
• Why I would still stand up again—every time

Travel isn’t always sunsets and highlights. Sometimes it’s raw, uncomfortable, and deeply human. And sometimes, telling the story is the most important part of the journey.

If this video helped you, informed you, or made you think, please leave a comment—I read them.
And if you believe in traveling with awareness, compassion, and courage, you’re already one of us.

🙏 Please watch this with an open heart.

Stay safe, trust your instincts, and remember — kindness and courage matter, even when no one else stands up.
