There is a watch brand that only makes dive watches so if you are looking to add a new dive watch to your watch collection in 2026 then watch this video and consider subscribing...
There is a micro brand that only makes dive watches.
I don't ever recall them making a sports watch or a pilot watch or a field watch.
It's dive watches all the way.
Two and three hundred meter divers.
They always house Seiko NH and Miyota 9000 series movements
and they range in price from 250 to 600 US dollars.
And to kick things off in 2026 they've just sent me their latest release.
Ahoy and welcome to I Like Watches.
A channel dedicated to the discovery and exploration of the best new affordable watches.
And in today's video I'm going to be telling you everything you need to know
about this Leviathan by Phoebus.
If you can recall them making anything other than a diver let me know in the comments section.
But yeah I've been reviewing their watches now for almost six years
and I think every single watch that I've featured on my channel of theirs of course
has been a dive watch.
On their website there's currently 14 models available.
They've made this Leviathan before but what makes this one a little bit different
is the forged carbon dial and bezel insert.
There's three options available.
This particular diver houses the Seiko NH35.
The regular price is 399 US dollars
but they're going to be launching this watch with 80 dollars off.
You just use LC80 when you check out and you'll get this watch for 319 USD.
And it's a lot of watch for the money.
Yes you can buy cheaper NH powered divers
but Phoebus have been producing good quality watches for quite some time now.
And so yeah to get a micro brand diver of this quality
from a brand that's been established like Phoebus for quite some time
for this sort of money yeah it represents good value for money.
And don't forget it's got a forged carbon dial and insert.
Now I do generally prefer their smaller divers.
Their 200 meter divers do tend to be a little bit smaller than their 300 meter divers
because the crystals and the case backs don't need to be quite so thick.
But this Leviathan well the name is Leviathan so it's bigger than average.
It's a little bit too heavy for me to be an everyday watch.
But I do like some of the design elements on this watch.
I've always been a fan of large facet sort of crisp corners on cases.
The bracelet's also not too broad on this particular watch.
That's probably intentional because the case does weigh a little bit more than average.
And some of their other divers the bracelets can be quite broad.
There's also a little bit of taper on this bracelet.
I like the overall design.
The crown nice and bold.
The hands applied indices also quite bold.
No polishing on this watch.
I can't find any.
Anyway you will still get a little bit of light play.
A little bit of reflection off some of those flat surfaces.
But everything's a sort of brushed or matte bead blasted finish.
Those applied indices they're quite rough.
Rough in the sense that the bead blasting is quite coarse.
The hands a little bit more smooth.
And I think it's all very intentional.
It's quite a sort of rugged you know manly man's diver isn't it.
And I like the look of forged carbon.
It looks pretty cool doesn't it.
You do get actually a little bit of light play from the folded or forged carbon.
All those sort of ribbons of carbon going in different directions.
They catch the light at different times.
The bezel insert is quite unusual.
You've got a loomed triangle at the 12.
But then all of the other markers quite stealthy.
And if you're wondering what the bezel action sounds like.
Here have a listen.
It's quite muted but the resistance is even all the way around.
And yeah it feels like a quality bezel action.
120 click unidirection of course.
It's a diver.
The loom is decent as you would expect.
I've filmed the loom degradation clip.
You'll see that at the end of the video.
And of course the rest of the specifications are strong.
Sapphire crystal.
AR coating.
Decent loom application.
Solid construction.
So screw down case back.
Screw down crown.
Solid links.
Solid end links.
Screw pins.
Milled clasp.
On the fly adjustment system.
Double ended quick release spring bars on the bracelet.
You do have some specifications on the case back.
A very nicely finished case back as well.
The brushing is a little bit different down the side of the case.
It's vertical not horizontal.
Normally brushing down the side of a case like this would go along the length of the case.
But not with this watch.
Splash of color on the dial and the tip of the seconds hand.
Yeah it's a good looking watch isn't it.
And it's nice that they are continuing to evolve their existing models.
But I said it in my previous video.
I'm going to say it again.
I would love to see something a little bit different by Phoibos.
I know dive watches sell well.
They're probably the most popular style of watch among collectors.
So it's kind of safe.
Although their designs not necessarily that safe.
Some of their designs can be quite bold.
So I credit them for that.
It's just yeah.
I'd love to see just a sports watch maybe.
Something a little bit different.
I don't know.
Let me know in the comments section.
Also let me know what your watch collecting new year's resolutions are.
Are you planning to collect more watches?
Less watches?
More expensive watches?
Cheaper watches?
Yeah what's your strategy for 2026?
Thanks for watching.
Enjoy the rest of your week.
And it won't be long before you see me again.
Well my hands at least.
You'll see my hands again.
