What is your fashion?
What is my fashion?
Like, uh, Roxanda.
Um, and vintage and, you know.
Congratulations on this amazing film.
What was the key to nailing these iconic Neil Diamond songs?
And did you get any advice from Neil himself?
You know, I didn't meet Neil until after we had finished the film.
And it's so funny because I grew up in Colorado and he lives in Colorado.
And I'd never even met him.
And I think one of the joys of making this movie was doing such a deep dive into his catalog of music.
I mean, there's so much. He has so much music.
And songs that I've never heard that are pretty amazing.
One of which that I sing in the movie and never heard the song before.
It's such a beautiful song.
So it was kind of fun to rediscover a whole other part of Neil Diamond.
And working with Hugh, I mean, what a dream, right?
Such a dream. He's the best.
Did you know each other before filming on this project?
We had met. We had done like a workshop for a musical once years ago.
That I don't think ever ended up happening.
So we had met throughout the years.
And we always loved seeing each other energetically.
It was like, he's got such good energy.
And he's so kind and wonderful.
I loved working with him.
I'm so happy I have a friend in him.
I feel very lucky to have met him and had this intimate experience with him.
What was it like not only playing his romantic partner but also singing alongside him as well?
So fun.
He's a joyful person.
So we were very goofy together.
And also a very hard working man.
Super disciplined.
He had to learn how to play the guitar.
So he was constantly trying to get it right.
And like anything, when we're working on these things...
Oh, hi!
Oh, it's Neil.
Hi, I wish you were here.
Yes.
I wish you were here, but you're in the beautiful mountains.
I wish I was there too, but it's long enough.
And we're all waiting.
I can't wait.
I'm going to come see you soon.
I hope so.
Yes, for sure.
I send my best wishes.
Yes.
Alright, well we love you.
Thank you.
You're here.
You're here with us.
I mean, everywhere.
You're everywhere.
Alright, Neil.
Neil, you're on Access Hollywood!
Neil, do you want to tell Access Hollywood how much you love the movie?
Oh, yeah.
And Lori, can you get his face in the center, please?
Aw.
Neil, you want to say hello and say that you love the movie?
I sure do.
I want to say hello and that I do love the movie.
It's the note that I want to go out on.
And I love you all for showing up and attending this little ceremony.
I wish my mom and dad were there, but they don't want to be there.
Yeah, we love you, Neil.
Thank you, Neil.
We love you!
That's so sweet.
We'll call you after.
Sounds so great.
Bye, Neil!
What was that like?
It was the best.
That was the best.
I want to ask you one more question.
Yeah.
Song, song, Dodger Blue.
I mean, the boys came back to tie the series last night.
Coming home with momentum.
Are you feeling that they got this?
Oh, see, I'm a baseball fan.
I grew up in a baseball family.
So, like, I wouldn't say, I say you just as every day at a time.
You know?
Every day.
I wouldn't, I think it's going to be a great series.
And to see so many great baseball, like, there's so much great baseball happening right now.
And watching Shohei is like one of the great, watching maybe the great baseball player of all time.
Like, how lucky are we to have him in L.A.
Yeah.
That chills.
Yeah, I'm excited.
It's going to be an exciting series for sure.
Absolutely.
Thank you so much, Kate.
