Hi all, hope you're well. Just took a chance to get out on the bike for half an hour while the
rain's having an afternoon off. Last week has been shockingly bad weather-wise in the UK,
especially in North Wales where I am, where it's just rained constantly for like four days.
So whilst it's nice for now, I thought I'd get out for half an hour and just enjoy the views.
There's a load of rain coming over there. If you look out to sea that way, it's not too bad.
I think I'll get up just in time. Anyway, about the bike, I had some feedback over
what I was talking about last time. Basically, shockers at the back, sorted them out.
Just adjustment really. I should have thought about it myself, but you just forget don't you,
I've not been around bikes for so long. I just got down there and adjusted the shockers.
They're on the bottom notch, on the lowest notch, so it was really hard, the suspension,
and really low as well. Anyway, it feels a lot better now. It's a lot more bouncy,
a bit more forgiving on these roads. As far as the cylinder goes, probably a bad idea to go up
the 411cc. Until Enfield builds a 500cc bike, then we're stuck with this 350. I'm not stuck
with it because there's nothing wrong with it, it's just that it would be lovely to have this
in 500cc, make no mistake about that. The other thing was to whip off the chain and put a belt on
it. I wasn't really serious about doing that, but it's just something I'd seen advertised and
somebody else had done it. But to be fair, you don't need to do it. I'll stick with the chain
for what it's worth. Other than that, the bike's running great. I mean, I can say it's a shame it
is only a 350, but it has got a decap pipe on it, it has got the DNA air filter, it has got
the manifold for the DNA air filter. It runs on the best petrol I can get in the UK, and I do put
petrol additive in with it to make it run even sweeter. I use that Lucas fuel additive, the
American stuff, and it's really good. I put it in my van as well, it's spot on that stuff.
So yeah, the bike is as good as it can be, and it runs great, sounds great, and it gets me down
these country lanes no problem. You know, this time of year as well, it's a bit grubby down here,
so when I get back it's going to be like a good half hour of soapy water treatment, give it a
good clean. The good thing about these bikes is you can ride them in the winter because there's
no chrome to polish, it's basically soapy water, give it a good clean, and then just towel it dry
down and put it back in the garage. It would have been like the red chrome model with the
chrome mudguards, I'd have been having to wash it, clean it, then polish it, then put it away,
but with this Army get up, you know, it's just rough and ready, just give it a good wash,
dry it down, it's done, put a bit of lube on here and there, and then she's ready for the next one.
But yeah, that's it at the moment, not changing the barrel, not putting a rubber belt on it,
and managed to change the shockers by just adjusting them really, so it's all happy days.
Like I say, these days now, this weather, this time of year, it's few and far between, so when
I do get out, I will take a couple of pictures of it for you, and it'll be few and far between
Anyway, hope you're all well, ride safe, and see you again.
