The Transition: Moving towards the coast to the massive Ice Shelves (such as the Ross Ice Shelf or Weddell Sea). This is the boundary where glaciers meet the ocean, creating a hidden ecosystem.

The Main Setting: The Southern Ocean – The waters surrounding the continent, where life explodes just beneath meters of solid ice.
