Why are there birds? That entire tree.
We made it to Kyoto last night and we're heading out for breakfast now. This is the Kurt tour.
Let's cross. This is all his doing so first up, fish breakfast.
Hey, so we just finished a kintsugi experience, which I will link down below. Highly recommend.
Sorry, the owner interrupted me. So cute. I will link it down below. It was really cool.
It was about two hours, almost two and a half.
But you get to choose a piece of pottery and then use the kintsugi method which is like repairing something with gold.
Just so calming, really beautiful. The people who were in our class were really nice. The teacher was really wonderful.
But now we're trying to find lunch.
Checking in after lunch. We are loving this because it is freezing.
We already had our first snow in Seoul and here it feels like autumn. It's like 12 degrees today, celsius. Feels so good.
We're at Tofukuji, Kurt tour guide.
He's picked wonderful breakfast, wonderful lunch. So we're trusting him for the rest of the trip.
Okay, rain is done. Next on our list, I think okonomiyaki.
Checking in. We're striking out. The very first night, there was a gyoza place we wanted to go to that randomly decided to close that night.
And then we're going to an LP bar and it's randomly closed on the third Wednesday.
Oh well and it didn't say, of course it like doesn't say on google, but we've got backup so off we go.
We'll ask the locals. So we just went to a bar called Rock Bar Ing, I think and they had something on the menu called
garlic festival. Literally, what's it? How do you say garlic? Ninniku matsuri.
So we asked the guy like hey, also like old Japanese man, super long gray hair, owns a rock bar
and he, we were like what is that? And he just looked at us, he was like
and then walked away. He literally was like you don't want to know and then just like faded
into the blackness behind the bar. If anybody knows, it was pretty cheap. It was like 400 yen.
Listed separately from the garlic fries. Let us know, thanks.
Hi everyone, we are out past Arashiyama to go to Saihoji which is like a moss temple. Kurt went here
last time and really loved it so we're back. You need to make a reservation but we came a little
bit early so we're gonna grab a coffee and yeah it's a beautiful beautiful day so let's go!
I feel like this is the longest autumn of my life. I had all of that time in Ireland, came back to a
long one in Korea and now still autumn here. We just went to Ruanji which is a
temple Kurt and I both love. This is my third time, this is Kurt's second time like
very beautiful but now we're gonna take a bus back into city center to get a dessert, do a
little bit of shopping and yeah it's just been a beautiful day. This is our coldest day but yeah
just so thankful for this weather. Hello we made it to city center. We were on a bus of
all sleepy people. We all took deep deep naps the entire bus. We're gonna get some sugar,
we're getting a dessert, maybe donuts, definitely tea, still gorgeous.
Donuts sold out!
My boy's so pretty so I could talk about it all night
My boy's so nice to me doesn't matter what I do with my life
Okay disaster. We are just not hitting it with the eating places. We've been eating really well
but it's been a struggle because there's this ramen place we really wanted to go to.
We thought it opened at, it does open at 5 30 but we got here at 5 15 and saw a teeny little
line and we're like oh my god look at us, so great. Turns out they start taking names at 4
so we have a space in line at 6 50 and then we might also have to wait 30 minutes so
Kurt's pretty passionate about his ramen and I'm willing to wait so we'll see but
yeah we saw this little line and we were like ah!
They're still there. Night number two. If anyone can explain the phenomenon of these birds
that entire tree and that tree are just birds. No other trees, just these trees.
Slammed your head into a table
Up next on a Kurt tour, another temple. Here we go!
Today is sleepy eating day. It's really warm, we just kind of want to walk around so we're
getting, we're heading to a tea place to have a snack and likely pass out. It's a beautiful beautiful
day. I wear my socks all the time but I didn't realize they were my ruffly socks. I guess I looked like a
shameless American because they didn't give me my privacy bag for my feminine wears.
The fact that we are in t-shirts in December is just insane.
We're trying to get ramen and we're, they're gonna close at 2 30 so we're jogging around.
We have three ramen places but they're all gonna close in like
five minutes. Our fearless navigator. Welcome to Osaka by the way.
We're very full of pershkatsu. Good night. We're flying home tomorrow.
