50 Most Powerful Spikes | Women's World Championship 2025

Trying to work some speed. Oh, that is absolutely bounced. What a swing. OK, USA, bring some combinations. Yables keeps that in play, but it's a free ball for Turkey, with Vargas on the go, and here she is. In the blink of an eye, that ball's gone. Moves of steel at the moment. Chikawa. Where's this going? It's going to be a free ball hoisted high, but this is so very much advantaged. Turkey, and that's put away. 25-13, ruthless from Turkey. And what a turnaround. If you're just joining us on VB TV, you will not believe that Bulgaria were leading. Moved up to second in the scoring charts as we get back under way. Herbot. Di Gennaro. I mean, they're all chasing a goal. Who cuts cross-court. Oh, wonderful. I think... Stojkovic going after Gabi. And then a positive set from Roberta, taking that ball's energy and continuing on its journey behind her for a really quick slide behind. Identity is happiness. They're hanging tough here. And Isabel, nice pick-up, Pasqua, showing that she can play defense too. Away we go with set number four. Must-win set territory here for Sweden, but it is a super start for the Netherlands. That was a huge swing. Nika Milosic. Baladin with the pass. They slide it. Turkey are being tested right now. They had this in the bag, now they have... On the libero. Hock. On the angle. There's no chance of anyone getting to that. Find something to get them moving for the next set. It's not happening now. Wong through the middle with the heater. This is a crazy attack from Wong. She's faced. Gets into the game to make an impact. Baladin, much better pass. Side-out required. Vargas delivers. Pull the ship a little bit. I love the way USA have her. The boy Q's coming along already. Oh, yes. That was some play, and that means we've gone from Bangkok to Brooklyn. Nine-nine. Oh, there it is. Wendy Vargas to serve. Here's Brescio. Goes with the tip. Covered by Segovia. And what a swing from Karamaly on the slide. Left and right. Would somebody please spare a thought for the poor middles? Oh! Sassipaporn slices the angle. Back up again. And Franklin, the target. Rekki! That's the reaction USA need. Yeah, a little fist bump. That was a huge hit from Ishikawa. Little step inside, and no one in front of her. I think Japan do this better than any team. Pops up. Better pass. Got it. Gets down. Free ball. Got the ball in the air. Pipe attack. De Gennaro. Oh! That is a monster swing. What? This is wild. Whoa, bro. Works well. Is that in? Oh, yes, it is. That is a wonderful shot to the line. The ball's on its way. Side-out required. Gabi! Saw what was happening. Japan saw what was happening. It was still unstoppable. Just the two aces in the tournament so far, but she tests sense. Oh, what a swing. Avery Skinner. You can find ways to score. Wilson just hit. That had the snort taken out of it. My goodness me. Can be serviced. Dealt with. One-handed set-in for McCrease. Magnificent. And this time she goes back with it. We saw her use that to flick of the wrist to go forward. This time she flicks it back to Julia. And Julia going up as if it's just a normal game. She's going to play in Poland this year, which is huge. Here comes Olajda. Nice pick-up from Castro. Can they keep it alive? Yes. Free ball over. No libero on the floor for Mexico. Here comes Olajda. Rips it down. Nicely done. Back row attack. Well, again, I said she's a special player. The second set. Olajda with the set. Out wide to Szilárd. Bit of extra width on that from Szilárd and it pays. Nice tempo on the short. 13 points. Four less than Szilárd. Who's waiting to come forward. Not needed. Milosic is there. And she can still pack a punch. Seven points for her as a middle blocker. Slaviny on your footing. Slaviny again. The target. Igonu. It's another phenomenal platform set. Just swinging it as well. Look, it's not a clean set. But the USA need to show who's boss. Lovely. What a great set that was. And Szilárd took that absolutely on cue. That was absolutely stunning. You're right. It all comes from that set. No coach will be upset with that. Double change for Italy. Kambi's into the back row. And Trotman into the front row. Doesn't change that outcome. Jansu absolutely loving that swing through the middle from Erdem. And you know Jansu's going to continue trying. Maybe a little bit of anything that isn't that. Kenya are playing out of their skin. And Barasa in particular. Just look at the joy for Linda Barasa. What a game she's having. Here's Elijah. Goodness. Does she unload? They've taken away cross court. Continuing the swing. 15-17. Poskovic again. Over the top. I'll say. Took that one like a champ. And just missed the court. You've got to take those chances. Particularly when you're training like this. What a dig. Pavlovic-Mori. Setter dump. But a setter realized on the other side what was coming. And then from one Olympian to another. Bang. Point taken. And there need to be three more to draw level. And they've gone short with the service. Oh, wow. Parra sent backing up. Now she's moving forward. A good dig from Pasqua. Elijah with a hard tip. Kept alive. Parra pushes it deep. Columbia comes again. A little attack. Karabaly. Karabaly here. Hits it. Ball is by Vargas. She was there for support. Moral support. Yikes. That was like an earthquake style hit from NJ.
