SpaceX is charging toward Flight 12, shattering speed records along the way.
After twelve years at the helm, Tory Bruno has stepped down as CEO of ULA.
China continues to face challenges with booster landings.
And Dream Chaser has taken meaningful steps toward its long-awaited debut flight.
Let’s break down the biggest spaceflight stories of the week on today’s episode of Great SpaceX.

Up and down.
SpaceX remains firmly on the upswing, accelerating Starship preparations as Flight 12 draws closer.
But today’s downturn comes from elsewhere. United Launch Alliance is facing a major leadership shakeup with the resignation of CEO Tory Bruno.
We are now approaching the end of 2025, with 2026 just over the horizon. Christmas and New Year will arrive as they always do, one after the other, but for spaceflight followers, these holidays also mark something else. They signal that Starship Flight 12 is drawing closer with each passing day.
Because of that, the SpaceX team remains in an intense phase of preparation, showing no signs of slowing down even as the year comes to a close.
When it comes to the vehicle itself, a major milestone was reached on the afternoon of December 20th. The final section of Booster 19, also known as B19, arrived at Mega Bay. This section is widely believed to be part of the methane tank, which serves as the structural and functional connection between the hot staging section and the rest of the Super Heavy booster.
That date, December 20th, is worth remembering.

The reason is simple. The final section of B19 arrived only 25 days after the first section departed from the production site on November 25th. When compared to Booster 18, this represents an astonishing improvement. For B18, the same process took 136 days. In other words, SpaceX completed this phase of booster assembly more than three and a half times faster.
This is a dramatic demonstration of operational recovery and momentum. After the B18 incident, most observers expected SpaceX to regroup and eventually return to flight. However, very few could have predicted just how strong and how fast that return would be. The pace of B19’s progress sends a clear message that SpaceX has not only addressed previous issues but has also significantly refined its production and integration workflow.
