Hello and welcome to Art & Design. My name is Thorkir. In the last video we created this
3D model using Nomad Sculpt. And in this video we're going to paint on this 3D model
and I'm going to show you how to display your 3D models like this in augmented reality.
So without further ado let's dive right into the video.
Okay so in the last video we created this ice cream using Nomad Sculpt on the iPad.
We're going to export this ice cream into Procreate. Now the thing is Procreate doesn't
really know how to read this file. If I go ahead and export this as an OBJ like so and
we import it into Procreate you see it just gives me this error. Cannot import artwork.
Model has missing UVs and is currently unsupported. The way to go around this problem is essentially
we need to map out a texture surface onto this 3D model. Simple terms we need to make it possible
for Procreate to draw on this. And to do that you need to go into this little surface area icon
right here and then we navigate all the way here to the dot dot dot and then we need to do UV auto
unwrap. Yeah I know it's a it's a little bit of a process but this is actually what we need to do
in order to do this. So we just tap on unwrap atlas. Let's just go ahead and unwrap the rest
of these. Just going to pick the ice cream itself and let's do unwrap atlas. We're going to do the
same thing for this and we're going to go here unwrap atlas. So now the model is ready for export.
Pretty much what we're going to do now is we're going to go in here in the folder icon and we're
going to go into the export and we're going to export OBJ. Tap on that and then tap on Procreate.
And now you see we have a 3D model in Procreate. But don't click away yet because there are so
many tips and tricks that I want to show you in Procreate that'll make this really really come
to life. Give it some reflectivity, some texture, some grain and make it look really really cool.
And the first one being the texture of the glazing. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to have a
chocolate glaze. Just picking a brown color here. I'm going to tap on the glaze with a special brush
that I make for this with a 3D texture. I'm going to paint on the surface of it. Let's just decrease
a little bit have it a little bit more brown. Something like this. So there we go. I'll leave a link to
this brush in the description so if you want to download this brush specifically then you can do
that. Because the thing about this brush is that it has a little bit of a 3D texture to it so it
makes the model look a little bit more realistic. Now the ice cream itself is pretty good. I'm not
going to do any changes on that. Now the next thing that I'm going to paint is the waffle form. This
thing right here. And to do that I'm going to go ahead and show the 2D texture because I'm not
going to paint the entire waffle form because it's such a repetitive pattern. So instead I'm going to
show the 2D texture of the waffle form. So making sure that I select the waffle form. Go in the
actions menu here in the 3D tab. Show 2D texture. And what I'm going to do here is I'm going to find
a waffle form texture online. I'm not going to complicate things too much. I'm just going to pick
one of these and go into Procreate here and I'm just going to drop in this texture. I'm going to
resize it so that it covers the whole thing like so. So now if we go ahead and disable the 2D texture
you see that the waffle form has now been applied to the cone. But you see it has a little bit of a
glitzy nature here and that has to do with the way that Nomad Sculpt unwraps the UVs. I'm not
going to go into too much detail there but it is possible to unwrap the UVs exactly down the middle
here so that you can get a better spread of the texture. That is too much for this video
unfortunately but let me know in the comments down below if you'd like to see a video about that.
So that is an ice cream in Procreate. That is pretty cool. Next I'm going to adjust the lighting
just a little bit to make the colors pop out a little bit and give it some reflection. To do that
we go into Actions, 3D, Edit, Lighting and Environment. I'm just going to move the camera
a little bit around and we're just going to place these light boxes closer to the source and where
you see the reflection. I'm going to add another light to the scene, place it here so that we have
a little bit of a light on the waffle form itself and I'm going to change angles here instead.
So there we go. We now have an ice cream in Procreate. The final thing that I'm going to do is
I'm going to show you how to view this in AR. So if we tap on this right here we can now place
the ice cream on the table and we can view it from all directions. I'll show you how it looks.
So that is it for this video. If you want to see more videos from this channel, I think you know
what to do. Hit that subscribe button. But I want to thank you all very much for watching. I'll see
you in the next one. Take care. Bye-bye.
