The tuner class thanks to Advan Neova, Kaz Miri.
Minute 35, 4.85 will be on the top step of the podium.
Cox second and a fantastic third there as well.
This is so exciting Adam, congratulations.
Now unfortunately not so great for your car but you've won.
Yeah, unbelievable feeling to be honest.
I thought Jordan was going to get us.
I've got an amazing team and he's a great driver but
lucky it was enough, I did one lap so without dramas.
But thanks to everyone in the team, we worked hard to try and get the car going
but unfortunately we couldn't be here to do the shootout.
Well, one lap is all that's needed.
Yep, that's right, it was enough for once.
Okay, so far so good, the 4G63 on song, here it comes.
Alright, full send here for Michalski, only a handful of corners left
and we'll find out just how well he's going.
Here it comes, check this out, blind corner, over around there,
set yourself up for turn 8, gather it all up, get out of here under power,
don't wash off too much on the run out.
Garland so far on provisional top of the podium but here comes Michalski,
check out the second sector right now, lights it up, it's purple.
It's quick, it's quick.
It's purple right now, hang on a sec.
Six tenths of a second faster than Garland.
Hold your hats folks, we might see a minute 3.0 here shortly.
He did predict he might be able to go minute 3.0,
which is unheard of in Club Sprint.
Here he goes, final corner, all clean.
Michalski comes flying down the straight, one last shot at it.
Michalski comes through, it's a minute 30.
7.18, the lap of Club Sprint.
Club Sprint history, Club Sprint history.
He said he could do it, he did it in the final lap of the Super Cheap Auto
Super Lap Shootout for Haltech Club Sprint, minute 30.
What a moment, what a moment.
A lot of celebration.
I don't know how we're going to get in to even talk.
Have a look at the crew, they're coming from absolutely everywhere.
All right, Emily, get in there Em, get in there.
Alex, you said you were going to do a 1.30 and you did it.
That's it, I had heaps more in it still as well.
Wow, do you reckon we could have done a 29?
What was that?
We could have done a 29.
Yeah, 29, I just made a few mistakes, but yeah.
Well, congratulations, what a perfect lap.
Thank you very much.
Yeah, how about that.
And there he is.
Here we go, we're in the GCG Open class and it doesn't get any less exciting.
Are we going to see some shuffling here?
There's room for shuffle here, definite shuffle room for a lot of these contenders in this class.
Yeah, haven't seen any movement in that first session yesterday
where Bishop was the top of the table.
So this morning's session seems to be the one.
How much are people going to push though?
That's what we've seen in every other category, haven't we?
There's been one car that's come out here and just gone a little bit too far.
Will everyone keep it in the window this morning when we see some incredible talent in that 1.27 drop down.
Last year's GCG Open class, of course, was a 1.25.5.
He would actually do that at the Dream Project S15,
but slipped up into the pro class this year.
That's been, I suppose, four to help some of those cars go up the slip tire and go a little bit faster.
Here's Darren Bishop, he's going to light it up here.
He's already in the upper one squad, but what does he do?
He goes out and goes 26, 26.819, 26.89.
And just puts himself out a little bit further than the rest.
How good does that feel?
Yeah, amazing.
Couldn't ask for a better weekend.
The team, I just, I cannot thank them enough.
Trent, Desi, Luke, Andre, Owen, Ben, everyone just speechless.
We came here to do 28 to finish on a 26 over the moon.
Couldn't ask for a better weekend.
Moon to the ground in the turn number one.
Wow.
You see the vortices there?
Did you see that vapor vortice coming out of the side of the front split?
As he was pushing that aero to the absolute max.
Rear wheel drive, completely different balance of car traction.
You think it's a little bit more compromised than four wheel drive.
Maybe a little bit better to drive and handle in mid-corner.
Oh, massive flame out of this thing.
He's up, he's up.
Green sector.
Oh, 24.37.
Yeah, it's quick.
He's matching Tim Slade.
It's within a couple of hundredths of a second.
You know, it's not over until we get to the end.
Was that a lock-up?
I hope that was just a lock-up of the brake.
Power, mid-corner.
Oh, I tell you what, Ewan is on a full attack mode.
It's like Mighty Mouse all over again with double the horsepower.
All right, Ewan, a couple more seconds here to go.
Let's just watch it here.
One flat, it is.
He had a one flat here if he wants to match Slade.
He's on a charge.
Can he get Tim Slade?
It's his final couple of corners.
It's brought a couple of drivers unstuck in our previous classes.
He's out wide now.
A couple of sparks, but he's on.
We can see the flames out of the exhaust.
Here we go.
Oh, on the limiter to break it.
Oh, 22.286.
He got there.
He was on the limiter.
I don't know whether he broke something.
Something happened right near the finish line, but it's enough.
It's nearly at 21.
Something happened right near the end.
He's pulled the thing up.
He's broken the thing.
I think he broke it.
He broke it, but he's on top.
Down here, congratulations.
A 122, top of the charts for Pro Open.
Rob Nguyen, Dream Project S15.
Yourself and the team right up the top where you belong.
Yeah, we came here with that goal in mind.
It's been hard the last three to four days.
It's just been absolute chaos.
We got one lap in this morning.
We just turned it up to 11.
The motor, I don't know what's happened,
but it got us to the line at a 22.2,
which is just an incredible time.
Rob is an absolute legend of time attack,
and we're so lucky to be here.
And this beautiful weather, beautiful event.
Thank you, Ian Baker and Alan.
Thank you, Emtron.
What an experience.
Here we are.
Our mate Ferris.
You know he's going to send it one more time for us.
So I'm going to let that turbo LS sing a lot here, too.
Here we go.
How much boost does he want to wind into the LS?
He's brought it all the way from the States
for the second year in a row.
Just got pipped by the fat cat last year,
of course, Sammy Stevenson,
so he would love to get himself on top of the podium,
which he is already guaranteed,
but he's going to try and crack a time somewhere in the 24s.
He's already up in the sector.
He was saving green tyres, wasn't he?
He said, I've got the stickers still on there.
I want to go into the 124s here this weekend.
One thing to get the win,
but it's another to get the time.
Here he is.
A couple of corners away.
Listen to that LS eat.
TC kicking in there.
He's up in sector two.
He's got the nitrous oxide on board.
Why not a little squirt now, Ferris?
Oh, not right now.
How about now?
Give it the nitrous.
Give it it all.
Here comes Ferris.
He's going to be on top of the podium for Pro-Am.
Is it a 24-something?
It's a 23.
23.269.
23.269 for Ferris.
That is the right number.
How do you feel?
I think from coming last year
and having all the issues that we did,
Ferris really wanted this,
and I think he put a lot of effort in,
and so did the rest of the team.
And just as here at three,
man, we're going to have a good time tonight.
That's for sure.
Todd Hazelwood, and he's coming to terms
with a car with this much horsepower
and downforce.
Nothing he's ever experienced in his racing career before,
and it all starts.
One perfect lap.
Can he do it?
Looking much better around turn number one.
Not as bouncy as what we saw
in some of the previous sessions.
That is full commitment into turn one and turn two
for Todd Hazelwood.
We know no difference to the man.
He has got what it takes
to be one of the fastest time attack drivers
in this country.
He's up in sector one.
He is up in sector one.
It's a 23.01 in sector one.
Let's just see if the rest of the lap is as clean.
Best time we've seen all weekend.
Lots of brake effort.
He's got a full set of stoppers on this thing.
This is all looking good for Tanuki.
Flies over the hill.
Comes down now into turn eight.
Very important out of here for Hazelwood.
If he lights it up on the other side of here,
hold onto your helmets, folks.
33.67.
He's three tenths down.
Three tenths quicker in the second sector on this lap.
He's got two purples.
He's on to smash a 1.19.
He just has to get the final couple of corners
to come together.
Here we go.
Is it smooth out of here?
He uses every little bit of that outside ripple.
Can he get it down?
Pedal to the floor.
Time is at...
Oh, boy.
Oh, 81.
81.
18.1.
Congratulations.
You have the quickest, fastest car
here at World Time Attack Challenge 2025.
How did it look from right here in pit lane?
Nerve-wracking.
Yeah, but we did it.
We did it.
You did it.
And by a massive margin, the weekend hasn't been easy.
There's been a bit of adversity,
but the whole team's rallied around you.
Your race engineer, your crew chief,
all of the technicians have put in a mammoth effort,
and Todd Hazelwood punches it out of the park
right there for one perfect lap.
Yeah, that's it.
Crew were here until 10.30 last night,
and we came out here, did a 19, and now we're in 18s.
Congratulations.
You've done a brilliant job.
Well done.
Thank you.
Todd Hazelwood, the quickest he's ever been around
in a tin top, guaranteed.
Yeah, son.
Now you've won World Time Attack Challenge 2025 in Tanuki.
That was fast.
Bloody oath it was fast, and it felt amazing.
What an absolute joy to drive this rocket ship here behind me.
It's been one hell of a journey joining the team.
I only drove the car for the first time Friday last week,
so to turn it all around, we had our gremlins,
we had our challenges, and to get a taste of an 18
is just an incredible feeling around this circuit,
and I cannot thank the whole team here behind me.
We've got a mountain of people here cheering me on,
and a big thank you to Wayne from Tanuki Racing
for the opportunity.
All the boys at GT Auto Garage, can't thank them all enough.
That effort was absolutely mammoth.
Was there any point in there where you really thought,
jeez, it could all go pear-shaped right here?
You are that on the edge the whole lap.
Right from the start.
Went through turn one, and the steering got real heavy,
and I had a big understeer,
more than what I've experienced all weekend.
So, yeah, she was a spirited lap.
I had a proper crack then.
We had, as we can see behind me, we pushed everything to the limits.
So it's still trying to scare me, this thing.
This thing's been scaring me all week, I swear to God.
But, yeah, it was a lap that I was pretty proud of.
Probably over-committed a little bit into the second-to-last sector,
but I think I got away with it.
So, yeah, just can't wipe a smile off my face.
What an awesome day.
What an animal.
Congratulations.
Go enjoy the night with the crew.
You guys have earned it.
Yeah, I certainly will.
Cheers. Thanks, guys.
