Danny Gartholin for Boxing News, delighted to be joined by Kallis Ireland. Kallis, we have just
saw Darren Till destroy Luke Rockhold. He was a big favourite coming into the fight but some
statement from Darren against an accomplished striker, former UFC world champion Luke Rockhold.
Yeah, I mean, you know, mad night, typical Misfits. Yeah, I mean, it was entertainment from
every angle. We had great pro fights on there tonight. The first Misfits MMA fight, Dylan
Dannis winning in spectacular fashion. Tony Ferguson lifting the Misfits Championship,
didn't think I would see that three years ago. Legend like Tony Ferguson, great fight against
Salt Pappy. Joey Essex in a Misfits classic, Hagler-Herns of Misfits. Yeah, Joey Essex,
what a fight. And to crown the evening off, yeah, I mean, it was an unbelievable stoppage.
I didn't think that he would come out of the corner of the first round. And at the second,
I think it was the second round, he went in the wrong corner. Then I definitely thought he
weren't coming out. But these UFC guys are made of something else. But it was brutal, brutal
knockout. And yeah, it was, you know, he was cornered quickly, he said he was fine. And as I
said, UFC guys made of something else, man, he was still in there. So, but Darren Till sort of
really has taken the scene by storm. You know, crazy night, crazy night. The man he called for,
the man he jumped over the ropes to confront was Kyle of the Cobra Frost. There were, I have to be
honest, rumblings in the media section that that's a fight that could be in the works. What can you
tell me? I mean, I thought my fights with Kyle over the years from, I don't know, the two Kessler
fights, Arthur Abraham, George Groves, you know, I've done so many fights for Kyle over so many
years. I thought they were over. Maybe there's one more. Maybe there's one more. Kyle, as he
often mentions, an international boxing hall of famer, but out of the ring 10 years now, Darren,
as you say, looks to be taken to boxing like a duck to water, can punch very hard. Southpaw,
break that fight down for us, Kyle. How does that play out? I mean, look, Kyle's main assets were,
was a granite chin and absolute massive amount of power, you know. And he was a very awkward
fighter. I remember it was Kessler who told me, you know, the one thing about Kyle is no one
really rated his jab. And Kessler said it was one of the best jabs he'd ever fought against.
And he, you know, obviously fought Kyle Zag in a few other great fighters. And he just said the jab
was just so difficult to read because it was so low. So he had lots of assets. What's he got left?
He looks in great, Nick, gotta say. He's gone grey. Almost as grey as me. We worked out,
we're exactly the same age. So he's Bernard Hopkins age. You know, only he will know it.
You know, I think he came tonight to have a little peek. He'll smell it and he'll go home
and have a think of it. What did he say whilst the fight was going on and when the stoppage happened?
I'll keep that between him and me. Very last one away from the madness of tonight,
reports that Josh Kelly and Murdozaliev could land in the UK. Where are we at with that?
Yes, you know, we've got a couple of strong offers from the UK, ideas of doing it there.
Also one offer from abroad, which we're looking at at the moment as well. So it will be in,
it'll be in, you know, obviously before Christmas and just very, very excited to get that deal
closed. But I'm not going to say too much and jinx it until it's done. Okay, let's go into
what I'm sure will be a very lively, very entertaining post-fight press conference
Thank you very much for the time. Yeah, and I'm looking forward, people. Dublin, here we come,
straight from Manchester to Dublin for the fight week next week. Mick Connan returns to Ireland,
headlines in Dublin for the first time. It's going to be such an atmosphere in the wonderful
city of Dublin and a very, very tough fight with Bateson. I think there's 12 or 13 fights on the
card. So very excited for that. Channel 5 live next Friday night. Also return of Charlie Edwards,
of course, and a host of talent. You know, we got Dan Toward on there. You know, we've got Ben
Marksby. He's had a couple of great wins now as well. Cody Smith returning. So lots of English,
lots of Irish talent, everything on it. And of course, you know, Mick, the prodigal son returns.
Kyle, we look forward to it. Thank you very much. Thank you.
