Welcome back folks to a brand new video. In recent years tourism in Albania has been growing
and it's no surprise once you see how beautiful the country is.
The coast is spectacular, wonderful stone towns, breathtaking mountains and a fascinating capital.
You can see it all if you desire to visit. So here are 10 beautiful places to visit in Albania.
So without further ado let's get into it. Now before you even watch this video don't
forget to hit that like button obviously for the YouTube algorithm.
Number one Kasamil, a real gem of Albanian seaside. Kasamil is considered to have one of
the most beautiful beaches in Albania and I can see why everyone thinks it's so good. Turquoise
water, sandy beach and nearby islands make Kasamil look like a paradise. But here's the thing,
I highly advise you to go in the off season because you will prefer it a lot more than
visiting in the summertime. Obviously you probably think that the summertime is the
best time to visit but I highly recommend that you go well before June and most probably at the end
of September because tourists from all over the world overcrowd the beach during the July and
August times. Number two, Berat. Berat is a UNESCO world heritage site celebrated for its beautifully
preserved Ottoman architecture. Surrounded by hills and mountains and with the river running
right through it. The city is a picturesque site often called the town of a thousand windows
because of the hillside houses sitting side by side overlooking the city. For you history and
architecture enthusiasts you will find much to appreciate in this UNESCO world heritage site.
The citadel of Berat also called the Berat castle is another must-see. Number three,
Jurokastra. While Berat is also called the city of a thousand windows, Jurokastra has the title
of a town of a thousand stairs. Often called the city of stone, charming cobbled streets
wind their way to the city's most dominant feature, its castle. Visitors will want to stop by
the tower house constructed in early 19th century and considered the finest example of Ottoman
architecture in the city. Walking around the town might be a little exhausting as the streets can
get pretty steep and then again the views from the castle are a great reward for your efforts.
What's interesting about this place is that it kind of looks like time has stopped.
Number four, Thef. Up in Albania's northern reaches not far from the border with Montenegro
is the tiny mountain village of Thef. Home to just a handful of residents and surrounded by
the magnificent Albanian Alps, Thef is certainly isolated but by no means lacking in things to do.
Within the village itself visitors will find a centuries-old lock-in tower
and in the surrounding national park stunning waterfalls and the dramatic canyon await to be
discovered. Number five, Sarandov. At first it looks like an unattractive seaside resort with nothing
but concrete but Sarandov might be much more interesting than it seems. If you're looking for
the lively holiday destination this is your Albanian answer. The town is more than just the
place to have a good time in. You can find some monuments too in Sarandov including ancient ruins
right in the middle of the city. It's definitely the perfect base to explore the area that includes
Kasa Mil and Gjirokastra. So why not give it a try? Number six, Permet. Nestled in the picturesque
Mios river valley in southeastern Albania is the town of Permet. This town of just over 10,000
residents is an absolute must for culture seekers traveling through Albania.
Today the town is often referred to as the city of roses and also known as Albania's greenest
and cleanest towns. The highlights are of course the thermal baths that you need to try
and the stone bridge for wonderful views.
Number seven, Tarana. As the capital city of Albania, Tarana sums up all the Albanian culture
and history. Now let's first be real here for a second. You will not find many historical
monuments or crazy skyscrapers. Where you don't visit for its beauty you visit for its vibe.
Home to many interesting art galleries and incredible museums such as the National
History Museum, Bunkart and the National Gallery of Arts. Highlights here are Blaku,
home to one of the best cafe cultures you will find. So remember enjoy the atmosphere,
enjoy your surroundings and enjoy the vibe. Number eight, Shkodë. Located in the north
of Albania, this city is very quaint and a great doorstep to some fantastic hiking in the area.
You will notice that Shkodë is the city of bikes. Everyone's biking and they say it's also
an incredibly affordable place, but that will obviously depend on your circumstances.
The architecture is unlike anywhere else in Albania and you may notice that you have stepped
back in time into an old-fashioned film and that's the real charm of this area. You can also
view the Razafis fortress or castle which is the most impressive sight in town. Number nine,
Dermi. But if there's one place in Albania that everyone should visit during the summer
it is right here in Dermi. Some travelers have said it's the best one with plenty of cafes and
restaurants all close by and it's one of the most spectacular places to see
in the country. But why don't you take a visit and find out for yourself.
Well there you have it folks, that was Albania. Definitely the most underrated
country in the European destination playlist. If you've already been to places like Greece or
Italy, why not give Albania a try. It's a beautiful country and it is high time that
you get over there and go and check it out. Thanks for watching and I will see you all on the next one.
