Spring was finally banging at my door after a long dark winter, so I took some walks in
the woods close to home, breathing in the season full of promises and hope, taking things
with a new slower pace.
I collected herbs and flowers, and once back in my home studio, I used them as brushes
to imprint some traces and textures on the page.
That alone was such a meditative process, embracing the chaos that ran the marks on
paper left behind by petals and time leaves.
I then made a set of digital brushes to bring some of this analog delicate beauty into my
daily digital practice.
I like the fact that in this way, I managed to make delicate living little things into
something timeless, leaving a mark in my future creations.
I want to make this process a routine, in a ritual, celebrating imperfection, casuality,
and analog truth, bringing them into my work.
I want to use this practice as a way to see my surroundings with new eyes, and celebrate
my local environment.
Maybe that's for today my answer, in a fast-paced world that relegates all the possible tasks
and machines, I want to react with slowness and poetry, gentle flowers, silent strokes
of ink.
