We sat down with Mia Speight — actress, woman of faith, and the $1.8 million winner of Beast Games on Amazon Prime. In this powerful and personal interview, Mia opens up about her experience competing on MrBeast’s epic new series, what it was like behind the scenes, how her faith carried her through the challenges, and how life has changed since the win.
My name is Mia. I'm from Baltimore and currently doing a lot of TV production film and a smidge
of real estate. What's going on? I'm Joey Malinski. On this episode of ATB Meets,
we talked to Mia Spate, who was a contestant on the Beast Games, also an actress and a producer
locally. She talks about Faith, what a crazy experience the Beast Games were. It was awesome

It was crazy because I always wanted an experience like that. Production side of it was,
it was just like nothing I have experienced in my life and I've been doing this for 20 years. Shots
we were taking had 2,000 cameras, almost a thousand GoPros. I would say four or five
hundred stationary cameras and then people on steadicams, like 15 people on steadicam.
I won an island. I was on Mr. Beast's show and one of the prizes was winning a private island
in Panama that's 67 acres. Well, I chose to go for the island because I was competing against
those guys every day and playing basketball, so I'm really not afraid of competition. God would
prove a point that doesn't matter how big the opponent is, if something's meant for you,
it doesn't matter who you go against, you will win. Finally, someone appreciates our games.
I don't. I think this decision has already been made and that the right person will receive it.
When I first came to the island, there was something I did that was biblical.
There was a palm tree there and when Jesus came into the town during Palm Sunday, people threw
down palms at his feet, so I took a palm and I wrapped it around my wrist and through the Navy
Seals, through swimming, through all of the challenges, the palm stayed on my wrist and I
prayed that God would give me the answer to this because I knew this island was mine.
If one of you has two deeds, you win. When I say go, three, two, one, reveal.
The answer was on my wrist because the palm tree means blessing, so no matter what he did,
the answer was going to be on my left wrist, so that is the box I chose. When I chose,
I knew from the beginning that that was the reason why I put that on my wrist and it never fell off.
Guess when it fell off? After I got the deed to the island and got back on the yacht.
So I knew that being in this industry, I had to have God in my life, but God was always a part
of my life. I just never had a platform big enough to express it. No matter what you strive to do,
God sees what your heart is doing, meaning that the things that's in your heart, God sees my
heart. He knows that I want to please him. Even though I'm flawed, I do stupid things every now
and again. There's nothing that I can do to deserve it. Don't feel like you need to earn
blessings. Blessings are given. It's a gift and it's free. So I think it's opened up a lot of
doors of blessings. God has just paved the way for me not to have to struggle so much to do the
things that I want to do. Now it's up to me to just ask for what I want and walk out and do it.
So I'm looking to support Kenya specifically, Baltimore, and I want to just shout out any
of the DMV artists, like filmmakers. Let's work. Let's put in the work. There are positive things
and positive people coming out of Baltimore. You just got to open your eyes and see it
because I'm one of them. Thank you.
