Anchor House | Monastic Minimalism Floating in the Jungle of the Mekong Delta
Floating amidst the lush jungle of Vietnam’s Mekong Delta, Anchor House is a minimalist tropical retreat designed as a quiet vessel for contemplation and everyday living.
Conceived as the home of an artist seeking solitude and reconnection with nature, the house blends raw concrete, wood, and open-air spaces into a monastic yet poetic architecture. Its sail-angled roof shelters layered decks, mezzanine interiors, and exposed terraces, while inviting breeze, light, and the scents of the jungle deep into the living spaces.
Designed to respond to the region’s intense climate—heavy rains and tropical heat—Anchor House offers generous shading, natural ventilation, and uncluttered interiors that emphasize simplicity and sensory experience.
This project is a meditation on minimal living, tropical architecture, and harmony with nature—where architecture becomes a vessel for reflection, creativity, and peace.
