Hi everyone, it’s Marie! In today’s video, I’m sharing 10 high-end looking Christmas DIYs inspired by Pottery Barn and Crate & Barrel. These are simple, affordable projects that look designer — but all made on a budget!
You’ll see how I turned Dollar Tree and thrifted finds into cozy, elegant holiday decor pieces perfect for your home this season.
Hi everyone, it's Marie. Welcome back to my channel. Today I'm sharing 10 high-end
looking DIYs inspired by Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel. Let's get started.
First, I recreated these adorable gingerbread candle holders from Pottery
I mixed some brown paint with baking soda to give it that thick textured look
and dabbed it onto a few glass bowtip holders from Dollar Tree.
Once that dried, I painted on the gingerbread details using white acrylic paint as well as
a 3D paint pen for the thicker details. I think they turned out so cute and cozy,
perfect for the holidays.
Next, I recreated a jingle bell and red velvet garland inspired by one from Crate and Barrel.
I found some bells at Dollar Tree and used a bit of antique gold rub and buff
to give them that aged vintage look.
Then I strung them onto a strand of velvet ribbon and added a small velvet bow above each bell.
It turned out so charming and elegant, such an easy way to get that high-end holiday look.
Next, I made an antler wreath hanger inspired by one from Pottery Barn.
I found a pair of antlers in the Halloween costume section
on Amazon and glued them onto a wreath hanger from Dollar Tree.
To hide the spot where I glued them, I wrapped some jute around it for a more finished look.
I started by painting the antlers a dark brown to match the original inspiration piece,
but I didn't love how dark it looked so I added a little gold rub and buff
and it completely transformed it. It has that perfect mix of rustic and elegant.
Next, I took a nutcracker I found at the thrift store and gave it a more modern look,
similar to the one from the inspiration piece. I painted the face and hands with a mix of beige
and raw sienna to give them a natural wood tone, then painted the rest with matte black.
Then, I made a little brass bell wreath ornament. I started by gluing some nautical rope into a
small circle for the base, then added tiny bells from Dollar Tree all the way around.
I love how classic and festive this piece looks.
Next, I made a glitter pinecone sphere ornament.
I used a pair of pliers to carefully remove the scales from a pinecone,
then glued them all around a plain round ornament to create a layered textured look.
Once it was all covered, I brushed a little mod podge onto the tips of each scale and
sprinkled on some glitter. It catches the light beautifully and looks so elegant on the tree.
Next, I made a large snowman for my front porch decor.
I picked up three different sizes of plastic bowls from Dollar Tree and glued two of each
size together with E6000 for a good strong hold so this piece would hold up outdoors.
So
once those were dry, I stacked and glued them to form the snowman shape,
then gave the whole thing a coat of white spray paint.
It turned out so cute and makes such a fun statement by the front door.
Next, I made a brass bow Christmas tree topper. I used a placemat from Dollar Tree and cut it
into strips to form the bow shape.
So
I brushed a bit of rub and buff on each strip to give them that warm brass look,
then glued all the pieces together. It turned out so pretty,
simple, elegant, and perfect for the top of the tree.
Next, I picked up a poinsettia from the thrift store. I used beige paint to distress the pot
and added some green paint to give it a more aged vintage look. I also brushed a little green
onto the leaves to tone down the color and make it look more like the inspiration piece.
So
next, I made a pine cone wreath. I started with a blank wire wreath, then attached each pine cone
by wrapping floral wire around both the pine cone and the wreath form. I added a little hot
glue to make sure everything was nice and secure. To finish it off, I wove in a strand of fairy
lights. It adds such a warm festive glow and really makes it feel special. And that's it!
10 high-end looking DIYs you can make at home. I hope you enjoyed these projects and feel inspired
to add a little designer touch to your own holiday decor. Thanks so much for watching,
and I'll see you in the next video. Bye!
