Review of the Silver Cove Lagoon Villas at Great Stirrup Cay Norwegian Cruise Line Private island
welcome to D guide I'm Cooper and today
we are talking about cruising and
specifically norwegian's Private Island
Great Stirrup key and we're going to
focus in on the Silver Cove Lagoon
Villas so are these worth it is it worth
it for your family to spend that extra
money to book one of these so to start
off you have to Tender to the island so
it's about a 20- minute tender from
getting on the boat to coming over uh
unloading it does take a little bit of
time and once you're on it's very quick
you basically walk through the front
gate to your right right there's a
little Hut talk to them they'll give you
some bracelets for everybody in your
party that's going to the Silver Cove
Lagoon Villas and then they'll call a
golf cart you just walk up The Path get
on the golf cart take it to your Villa
you'll go past a special Reception Area
they have for the Villas and when you
get checked in you'll be introduced to
your room attendant uh they have some
things lying around the room for you um
they do have some champagne from away
but that is an extra charge if you do
open it but they have full service so
the room tant will come down probably
about every 30 minutes uh give them a
key card they'll take it to the bar and
pick up your drinks for you they are
very attentive great service so once you
get in the room uh you basically have
your common area in the front with a
table a couch and a TV uh which was
great and then on the other side when
you come in directly to your right
you'll have a bathroom a shower and then
a bedroom so overall very nice all of
these do have the full glass so you can
see out to the Lagoon or you can close
them uh if you're trying to have a nap
and that was one of the biggest things
cuz these rooms are air conditioned our
son was about two at the time we took
this cruise this was on our last day
before we headed back so we wanted to
get the most out of it and having to
Tender back in fourth for a nap time
just was something we didn't want to do
uh to Lo lose probably close to two
hours between the nap and both tenders
it just didn't seem worth it for us so
we did end up uh going for the extra
Villa so we could have him go to sleep
in a nice air conditioned room we put a
camera on him and he was able to get
that nap and that was great so we were
still able to go to the beach uh we
would cycle in with the camera on them
check on them have some drinks on the
patio just out in front and he slept
great so this was definitely worth it
for us depending on your circumstance
it's going to depend on if it's worth it
for you the Villa itself looks over the
Lagoon there's quite a few of them
around it there's about 50% full when we
were there so it was very private there
was not a lot of people on the beach uh
they have beach chairs there's no toys
so if you have a kid or a family and you
are wanting them or they're wanting to
have some beach toys you're going to
have to bring that with you that's just
not something they have there they
weren't able to get us any which was
okay we did have a handful of toys and
he had fun chasing the fish there was
some Bone Fish some stingrays uh and
some minnows so he was chasing those
around and had a riot there is a spot
you can swim out to a little dock you
can go out there and catch some rays or
or uh just chill out if you want to now
when you think about snorkeling this
spot isn't the best for it because it's
so Sandy uh it's gorgeous but it's not
the spot for snorkeling because the
water is a little cloudy the room
attendant did say they could call a golf
cart for us and they would take us to a
spot to snorkel about 10 15 minutes away
that was really good we talked about it
but we never ended up doing it cuz we
were having so much fun at the beach
that day now the buffet very close by
it's only about a minute walk from the
closest side to it if you're on the far
side it's going to take a little bit
longer but still it's only going to be a
2 to 3 minute walk so nice and
convenient for food and drinks come to
you so you don't have to worry about
that and they were very attentive couple
spots to take photos of there's the
Great Stirrup key uh swing so you can go
go on the swing you can stop by take
some pictures uh there's a little hedge
made out of wood our son took some
pictures there was really cool uh and
then on the far side there's a little
river that comes and goes uh for the
water so that was a very pretty pretty
the Lagoon itself is absolutely gorgeous
uh we enjoyed our experience and for us
it was worth it because even though it
did cost some extra money we were able
to get the most out of our day which was
our entire goal from doing that having a
2-year-old and not having a vacation for
a bit it was definitely well worth for
for us for you it's going to depend on
your family is this something that you
want do you want to have that little bit
of break so you can have an air
conditioned space uh if one of your kids
is getting tired out there's a TV in
there uh you can put movies on it goes
to the Norwegian channel so you have uh
the same movies you would have on the
cruise ship you can have on the beach so
that was really nice as well and for us
just to have a nice chill relaxing day
at the Villa was well worth it so
overall we had a great experience if you
have any other uh question about
cruising with Norwegian with families we
went on the prea and I'll put the link
to that at the end of this video so you
