In this video we pretend to be a school bus driver and take students on a fun pretend day at school! We go through a complete school day with science, reading, lunch, recess, and gym after a great ride on the bus. We also play with Playmobil race cars at a racing school.
First, Kid Crew starts driving his big yellow school bus towards a stop on his route with four kids! The school bus is huge and can fit eight kids, has working lights, and an illuminating stop sign. He turns on his amber warning lights as he pulls up, then switches over to blinking red and puts out the stop sign. Mom’s going in the other way in a car, and stops for the kids. Then bus driver Kid Crew signals to the kids to cross the street and they board the bus. Then they go to school! First they have a science lesson from dad on rockets, and make their own balloon rockets. Then they relax with recess and lunch! Up next is gym where they play a game of soccer. And then the day winds down with circle time where mom reads an original book she wrote. Then the kids ride back home on the bus and get dropped off. A real school day goes by fast – and so does our pretend one! Next, we play a fun game you can do at home. We use Playmobil race cars (A huge thank you to who lent us their vintage Playmobil collection) on a home-maid plywood track to learn about racing – but also reinforce some of the school concepts we learned. A bus picks up 3 students who head to racing school. Their teacher helps them learn about the cars and then they get on the track. Lastly, we learn how to safety ride a school bus in the educational segment.
Come pretend play with us! Join us kids, toddlers, girls, and boys as we use our ride on toy trucks, toy tractors, and toy equipment to do construction, farming, and home improvement pretend play projects. While we play our games and drive our vehicles, we learn about engineering, science, STEM, and how things work in our educational segment.
Thank you for watching Kid Crew!
Welcome to Kid Crew. Hurry! It's almost time for school to start in the Kid Crew Community School
District. These students are waiting at their bus stop and the school is right up the road.
Let's start the route. You can't miss this big yellow school bus. This bus has space for eight
kids and has plenty of warning lights. It's the biggest thing dad has built yet. The bus driver
is coming up to the stop. Hey look, there's the school bus. They're so excited. Turn on the
warning lights and pull up to the stop. Now the blinking red light. This tells the other drivers
on the road not to pass. Send a sign. Here comes another vehicle on the road. Oh, I need to stop
for the school bus. She gives the kids plenty of space. Now open the door and signal to the kids.
You can cross now. Okay. The youngest student gets on first, then the rest. We have a whole school day
planned. Circle time, recess, a rocket lesson, lunch, and gym class. It's gonna be a ton of fun.
Find your seat. Everybody ready to go? Yeah! I can't wait for my first day of school.
Close the doors, turn off the lights, and let's go to school.
I cannot believe that power wheel can haul all those kids. It can be a bumpy ride on the school
bus, but it's a safe and efficient vehicle. Great, they're coming up on the school. Time to get off.
One at a time. Single file down the row.
At this school, the staff does multiple jobs, and sometimes they also pretend they're a student.
Have a good day at school. First, a rocket lesson. Today we're gonna learn about rockets by building
these balloon contraptions. We blew up this balloon with air. What do you guys think is
gonna happen when we let go of it? It's gonna go across that rope. Let's test that hypothesis.
He was right. The air coming out of it pushed on the air that's all around us, and that is how the
balloon went forward. Do you guys all want to make your own? Yes. Blow up a balloon, tape it to a straw,
and let go. Great job, class. Let's do recess. They have plenty of choices for play. This playground
is stocked. It has swings, a climbing wall, and a slide, and a true classic, climbing up the slide.
With all this learning and playing, these kids have to be hungry. Time for lunch. Open your lunch
box and get ready for some important intellectual dialogue at the lunch table. There's this dog
called a chow chow dog, and sometimes their hair is just so big they look like bears for some reason.
Now clean up your space and get ready for... what's next? Oh, gym. Let's play soccer. Time for gym.
The teams are ready. Kickoff. Great kick. The other team dribbles back, and it's in the net.
Goal. Then pass it to dad. Oh, he responds.
Now circle time to wind down the day, and we're gonna start with a book.
Kid Crew Tractor by Kid Crew's Mama. It's a beautiful morning at the Kid Crew garage.
Dad and Kid are filling the tractor's tires with air. Hey, Mitten, stop chasing the air hose.
The tractor is a very important piece of farm equipment.
Did you draw that, or did you just paste that? A combination. A tractor can plow, till, haul heavy
equipment, plant, fertilize, and even mow. It just needs the right attachment. Mom needs help clearing
land for her garden. Her push mower isn't cutting it. Do you guys see the smoke coming out of the
lawnmower? Yeah, because it's broken. It's overheated. And also the grass is giant.
Don't worry, Mom, we can help with that. All we need is a mower deck. Dad helps Kid get his
tractor ready. The blades are sharp, so be careful. The tractor chugs out to Mom and lowers the mower
deck. Let's go. Wow, the tractor's working great, and it's even making nice straight lines. The job
is finished, but the tractor's covered in grass clippings. Kid drives his tractor back to the
garage, where he stores his pressure washer. Mittens, not again. All clean. Another day,
another job done. Thank you, Kid Crew. All right, class, that's the end of our school day.
Did everybody have a good day? Yes. All right, let's go home. Here comes the bus to pick the
kids back up. Open the door. Load up. That was fun. I hope we do more next time. And drive off.
Wow, they're already home. Oh, my house. I can't wait to see you tomorrow. What a fun day. They
go by so fast. Now here's how you can play along at home. This is one cool racetrack,
but what's a school bus doing here? Oh, it's a racing school. The bus is off to pick up some
lucky students. These kids look pumped, and they should be. Pull up to the stop and turn on the
warning lights. Then fold out the sign and open the door. Come on up, kids. The students climb on
and find their seats. I'm so excited about today. Me too. Do you want to sit together at lunch?
Be sure to stay in your seats. Is everybody ready? Yeah. Roof on. Sign in and go. This is a really
famous racing school. It even has blimp coverage. They drive down the front straight away
and pull onto Pitt Road. Look at those cars lined up. Which one would you choose?
I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait. Pull up to the classroom and let out the kids.
Welcome to racing school, class. Hey, look, friend. They even repair race cars here.
Okay, class. All set? You bet. Today's module is on driving. Steer with the steering wheel.
Go with the right pedal and stop with the left pedal. Time to gear up, and then they can hit
the track. The students make an orderly line and get on their helmets. Whichever color they get,
they get. Now look at these cars and parade out. Get into your car. Mine is the smallest,
but I'm so excited. They're all ready to go. Start your engines. Okay, let's pull out onto
the track. They start with some pace laps to warm up their cars and tires. Then the pace car goes in
and go. They zoom off. The car is fast and staying out front, but the go-kart is keeping a precise
racing line, as is the prototype. This is a good time for lunch. I was getting the hang of it.
They're pulling into the pits and getting ready for a hot lunch. It's everyone's favorite day,
hot dog day. They line up nicely. I'm going to work on my car. 10 cylinder, 10 cylinder,
and a one cylinder. I can see why he wants to improve his car.
That should do. Okay, they've got full tummies. They're ready to head back out.
I have a good feeling about this. All right, go. They hit the first turn. The go-kart is keeping
up with the formula car. They log another lap. Final lap. I think I'm going to win.
Don't count me out now. The checkered flag is waving and the lead car slides,
opening the door for the go-kart. It's the go-kart.
Great race, everyone. Now let's learn how it works. This is how riding a school bus works.
Can you be our student? Yeah. Okay, when a school bus pulls up to your stop,
wait for the driver's signal that you can come aboard. You can cross now. Then look both ways
before entering the street and cross the bus in front of it. Be sure to say hi to your bus driver.
Hi. Then find your seat and sit down facing forward. Be sure to be kind to everyone on the
bus because you might just find a new friend. In case there's a problem on the bus, there's
actually a door on the back as well that you can exit out of. And regardless of what you know
about buses, you always need to listen to the adult in charge. Wait, I wonder what happens if
you press it and then and you're not holding on to it. Yeah, we'll probably fly off. I'm gonna do
that. Uh-oh. Kitty on the racetrack. No, lion on the racetrack. Lion on the racetrack.
We need to put out the red flag for an obstacle on the track. Dan needed a lot of help along the
way on this vehicle and luckily hit a willing partner. So the front door, you know, is on that
side. You'll have your head below here. Let's see. Yep, works. Oh, sorry, that wasn't screwed in.
Okay, and then can you can you climb through those? They're pretty good. Oh yeah, that's gonna be fine.
Is this gonna be too heavy? Oh yeah, but the only thing that'll break is the
motors and the gearboxes and the back axle.
It sounds like something's ripping. What? Something is ripping. What? The back axle.
It's fine. Oh dear. Okay, it's okay. It's fine. It's fine. It's fine. It's fine. It's fine.
Oh no.
Is this a lot of kids mittens? Maybe you're just walking away instead of
getting involved. It was too much. Come to mama.
So how's your book publishing going? You know, it's taking a lot longer than I thought it was
going to. So the backstory here, everybody, is that we decided that we wanted to read a story
as part of school because that's important, but then we discovered you can't really read a
copyrighted book. So what do we do? Make a book.
We always choose the easy route. For sure.
We really wanted to do a school bus episode because a lot of our viewers are about to start
school, some of you guys for the first time, and it can be hard. Change can be a little scary,
but it's important to keep in mind that change is good, and once you get used to your new
environment, we know you're going to do great, and we know you're going to succeed, and we know
you're going to make new friends, and you're going to learn new things, and you're going to have such
a great time, and we are so proud of you. And a heartfelt thank you to all the teachers.
You're literally helping us raise our kids. We can't thank you enough.
