A.F. de Cordoba (19th Century)
Spanish composer active in Madrid around the years 1818-1819. Nothing is known about his birth, life, or death, leaving his identity solely preserved through a small collection of his published works for the pianoforte. All of Córdoba's extant compositions are single-movement works for the pianoforte, reflecting the popular salon music and operatic transcriptions of the Early Romantic era. The fact that the works were published suggests he was actively involved in the music scene, likely as a performer, teacher, or composer catering to the aristocratic and bourgeois markets. His published repertoire, issued by the Bartolomé Wirmbs publishing house, includes: Marcha fúnebre a la grata memoria de la Reyna Nuestra Señora D. María Isabel de Braganza, Q.E.E.G. para forte piano, obra 4 (c.1818); Vals con variaciones para piano forte de la ópera el Tancredo (c.1818); Divertimento para piano forte sobre el tema de La polacca [sic.] en La Griselda (c.1818); Rondó para piano forte (c.1818).
