Now I'm definitely not YouTube famous like the ones that you see on the news,
but I am kind of a YouTuber, so maybe showing you my reality will help ease your curiosity,
so let's go!
All right, this is where the magic happens.
I think I spend 98% of my time here.
We got the iconic timer that I use in all my challenge videos,
which reminds me I should give myself like a quick 10 second intro because you might not know me yet.
I'm Viora, a mashup of the words Violet and Aura.
I started YouTube in 2023 and have been posting every Saturday since.
My videos are a mix of fun challenges, often art-related, often not.
I love capybaras, onions, baking, and classical music.
Ooh, that was fast.
The star of the show, the iPad herself,
and then the computer where I just do all the editing,
brainstorming, sending emails, boring stuff,
and then we got the lovely crochet friends.
I was gonna say crochet capybaras, but then I got the two very iconic pigs,
and then another capybara here, and that- that's basically it.
It's not a ton of space, but you know, it works.
Now that we established my workspace, let's move on to-
Ooh, what's this?
Oh, thumbnails!
Okay, let's- let's go.
Was that- I feel like that was a very poor transition.
So I do draw and design all my own thumbnails on Procreate
and it really is just like a love-hate relationship
and I say love-hate because sometimes I just have like a good thumbnail idea,
like I love this thumbnail and this thumbnail,
but then sometimes executing it, I'm just like, this is so hard.
Today, I'm making the thumbnail for next week's video,
which is I tried three viral art side hustles.
By the way, it's June 27th, 2025 right now when I'm filming this.
I have no idea when I'm gonna post this,
but also a little YouTube secret,
YouTube actually allows you to upload three thumbnails at a time,
so I'm not actually just drawing and designing one,
I'm actually making three.
Because I post every single Saturday,
I make three thumbnails for every video,
so that's maybe about 15 thumbnails a month.
Wow.
Also, this might be just me,
but I don't like it when there's like two of the same faces in a row,
like see, these faces are kind of the same
and I typically don't finish it all in one go.
I feel like mentally, I just have to take a break,
look away, do something else for a while,
and then come back and look at it and be like,
okay, what can I change?
And this is one of the options that I could do for my first thumbnail.
I do have two more to make.
Sometimes if I really like the base,
I just maybe change my facial expression.
But yeah, again, the thumbnail process, love-hate relationship.
Some days I would rate it like a 2 out of 10
and some days I would be like, yes, this is like a 20 out of 10.
But yeah, this one's pretty cute, I like it.
It's like very clean, easy to understand
and that's basically how thumbnail making goes for me.
I feel like no YouTuber really talks about this step,
but for me personally, I always have to re-watch my videos,
especially before, like right before I post it.
So it's Friday, right?
So that means I'm posting literally tomorrow in like,
I can't do math, like 9 hours?
No, 12? 11? I don't know.
Saturday, 8am.
So around, I literally can't do the math for the clock thing.
Just to make sure like I don't have any mistakes
where I accidentally clip out the audio or the music is too loud,
just like proof watching it.
Like proofreading it, but you're proof watching it.
Like I'm posting this video tomorrow,
the I tried viral Pinterest art tutorials
and I just want to make sure everything's, you know,
in order, ready to be posted.
If I were to be completely honest,
this one is actually kind of fun
because most of the time,
I haven't watched the video in a very long time.
So I completely forgot like what I said
and like what I actually do or some of the outcomes.
So yeah, I can't complain.
It's like, it's a 10 out of 10.
Hello, it is now Saturday, almost 8am,
which is when I normally post my video
and because time zones exist,
I made this helpful little chart of when I post my videos.
So if your country isn't there, I'm very sorry,
but if you look up like the closest one,
kind of adjust the time difference.
I know I wish I could fit all 195 countries,
but unfortunately I cannot,
but hopefully this is helpful.
But yeah, I've been posting every weekend
for about a year and a half now
and I still get so nervous, genuinely nervous.
I'm like, oh my gosh, what if people don't like it?
Today, I will post it one minute earlier.
Little Viora secret,
sometimes I post it like two minutes early.
So if you're like waiting there, refreshing,
you might get there like even earlier than some people.
And she has posted 19 seconds ago.
Oh my gosh, there's already eight views.
And right after I post, I go in, like a lot of comments,
reply to a lot of comments.
It's a lot of fun.
We just have like a live chat.
So here's just a little behind the scenes.
So it's been two hours since I posted the video
and what YouTube does, it's, this is a little bit evil.
They rank your video on how well it does
in comparison to your other videos.
So nine out of 10 is actually really bad.
10 out of 10 is technically like the worst
because technically they want you to aim for one of 10,
meaning that your video is like doing the best
out of the 10 videos that you posted recently.
Even if a video doesn't do well,
a nine out of 10, a 10 out of 10,
my favorite part is just reading your comments,
replying to your comments
and just seeing that you guys are enjoying it.
And yeah, that is kind of how I handle a posting day.
And you can see it that it changed the thumbnail photo
because I posted three thumbnails
and then YouTube just kind of changes it.
But yeah, that is a posting day.
So if I were to rate posting a video
and replying to everyone's comments,
this one would be a solid 10 out of 10.
I love it.
I look forward to every Saturday
when it comes close to like Thursday and Friday
and I post in my community post like,
oh, 48 hours left.
Oh, 24 hours left.
I get very excited.
And I just really hope that you are excited too.
So yeah, I love this one.
And see, now this is a little bit meta
because I just edited the part that you just watched.
I'm not going to go too much into editing
just because editing is literally,
it takes up like 98% of my time.
And honestly, it's just really boring.
I'm staring at my computer screen,
cutting all these tiny little clips,
adding some sound effects, some music.
And by boring, I mean like watching me edit
is going to be boring,
but I actually love, I really, really like editing.
So even though a lot of YouTubers,
they hire like full-time editors,
I'm just like, I kind of want to keep editing my own videos.
Like, you know, editing is when you can really tell
your story to your audience
and we're just, you know, like having a conversation.
But if someone is there to deliver the message,
like to edit the video for you,
I don't know, it's just, it's a little bit different.
So yeah, editing is going to be the shortest segment,
even though I spend the most time doing it.
Overall, I do really like editing.
It's just, it's very, very time consuming.
So I'll give it like a middle ground of like a 6.5 out of 10.
Also, random viral lore.
I've actually been editing way before
I started drawing and everything.
You guys know those like fandom edits
where you just like edit for a fandom?
That was me.
I'm not going to say what fandom though.
You can probably guess though.
Anyways, moving on to the next one.
Another mini tradition that maybe some of you guys know about
because I talk about in my Instagram stories,
but I always break, whoa, not break.
I always bake on Saturdays.
Mainly it's like just bread, like brioche bread.
I love it.
And it's just kind of like a weekly
congratulations, you did good type of thing.
I don't know.
It's good to kind of relax and chill
and baking is just kind of like my relaxed chill time.
And I always have a feast.
Sometimes I have like four very thick slices of bread.
It makes my stomach hurt.
Don't recommend doing that.
Don't do that.
So yeah, Saturdays is not only posting day,
but also baking day.
So you already know,
I have to give this like an 11 out of 10.
I love it.
Another thing that I don't do very often,
but I just happen to do on this day
because the sun was great.
The lighting was good,
is to take some product photos.
This one, I just, I don't do very often
because not only do I not have a lot of products,
but I'm also very shy to post about my products.
So I feel like I don't really have the need
to take a lot of product photos
because I never ended up posting it.
But today I was like, you know what?
The weather's good.
Why not?
So here's me taking some cute little footage
of this capybara plushie.
The pre-orders for the capybara happened in August.
So if you pre-ordered, thank you so, so much.
I hope you enjoy your capybara plushie.
As of right now, when I'm filming this voiceover,
it actually hasn't even dropped yet.
So that's super exciting.
Ooh, I can keep secrets.
Sorry, yeah.
But if you got a capybara, I'm so, so glad.
Truly so grateful.
Thank you so much.
And I hope you like it
because I think it is so cute.
I also have the books that I made on Amazon
that you can get also in the description.
And I have a feeling that I'll post this
in like early December.
So now is the perfect time to actually get this life journal.
Either for yourself or, you know,
as like a nice little Christmas present
because who doesn't love a good nostalgia memory journal?
Or, I don't know, even a coloring book?
Or a hoodie?
I don't know.
So many good things that you can get for Christmas
at viro.com.
Am I right?
I'm sorry.
That was like a little bit too much self-promo, right?
I'm sorry.
Okay, let's get back to the rankings.
Yeah, the lighting was great
and I would probably rate this like a 7 out of 10
because it's cool to see my stuff like in better lighting
and better quality.
But I'm also very just very terrible at taking photos.
Here's another thing that's kind of like editing.
So it takes a long, long time
but it's just a little bit boring to watch.
So I'll keep it short, which is the planning,
kind of scripting,
and doing the research for a video.
So the one that I'm currently doing
is the one where I hire experts
to help me revamp my Capybara store.
This one is very, very research heavy.
Okay, well, I wouldn't really say research.
More like behind the scenes things that I have to do.
So I have to figure out like how to do email signups
and then I have to do a lot of messaging
with the people who are going to help me
and then still also making sure that the video is fun to watch.
So again, yeah, I know, very boring.
So I'll probably just end it here
but this one does take up a large amount of time.
So for example, I do a lot of side hustle videos
and a large, large part of that is me just like designing,
figuring out logistics like shipping, packaging
while also running within a very limited time frame
and also trying to keep in mind
that the video still has to be fun to watch
and also have it feel like a completed cohesive story
that the audience can also hopefully learn something from.
So yeah, the scripting, researching, very, very important,
very mandatory to make a video even happen.
And so because I'm doing all of this by myself,
it is very hard, a little bit tedious
and sometimes I'm also really, really not sure what I'm doing.
So I might have to give this like a 2 out of 10.
I'm just not, I'm not very confident in my skills.
I also do a substantial amount of drawing and design
because I'm kind of in that art design niche.
So I drew this very cute capybara mug
and then also a capybara tote bag and capybara t-shirt
and a capybara cap.
Recently, I haven't been doing like a lot of more detailed drawing like this
but I just filmed a how I color like this video
and then I was in the midst of recording it and like editing it
and I was like, wait, would anyone like even watch this?
Because I feel like I'm so terrible at like describing what to do
when I'm drawing and again, I also don't feel like I'm-
What's the word?
Qualified.
I'm not qualified to teach drawing at all
and then I kept staring at this and I'm like, does this even look good?
But overall, I do like it and it's fun to draw whatever I want to draw
when I want to draw, so no complaints.
Alright, grand finale, my favorite is definitely posting videos,
replying to your comments
and my least favorite is probably taking product photos
and I think that's kind of it.
If you are considering actually becoming a YouTuber,
I did make this YouTuber intro PDF packet a while ago.
It definitely has a lot more info and logistics listed out in a more organized way.
This video was kind of- I was kind of all over the place.
That is my true reality.
Yeah, I actually made it for this YouTube video over here
so if you want to check it out in the description if you don't want to,
all good, not gonna force you
and again, I should make this disclaimer,
I'm definitely not speaking on the behalf of every YouTuber obviously,
we all have very different realities of what being a YouTuber is like.
This one was just a very small snippet of my reality
and how I go about things.
As you can see, it was a little bit messy,
kind of all over the place.
Okay and I feel like I could go on and on about how thankful, grateful, honored,
happy I am that I can be doing this,
making videos and having people watch them
and have such a nice reaction to them
but I'll keep it short which is just
thank you so much for your support,
for your engagement,
just being the nicest and kindest community.
I genuinely wake up so happy,
looking forward to every single day
and I can truly never ever imagine myself doing anything else.
I absolutely love making videos and I will keep making them
so yes, I hope that thank you was somewhat short
and I talked way too much,
you can probably tell I'm out of breath
so I guess that's all for me.
All right now, bye!
