New m &s Christmas Food! Innovations & Retro Favourites!

Hello there my festive friends, welcome back to our YouTube advent calendar. I hope you're all doing really really well and having an absolutely lovely festive fun filled weekend. Thank you so much for joining me to step through another door. This time we're talking all things food, glorious food. We're gonna head on in to my branch of M&S here on the King's Road and see all the new bits, all the party food in the M&S food hall. So without further ado let's go. Hello festive friends, let's head on in to the M&S food hall here at M&S King's Road to see all the lovely new festive food. Let's get our mouths watering, I hope you've had something to eat now. The first thing I come to look at in December in Marks and Spencer's in the food hall is the Christmas sarnies. I love them. This year's turkey feast is an absolute belter, £4.25. There's no messing about with this, it's just simply classic. Turkey, stuffing, cranberry chutney, it's just a business. It is so nice on malted bread. Then there's the pigs in blankets sarnie for this year. It comes with a red onion and ruby port chutney. It's rather lovely, also £4.25. This is a huge hit within my household, the Christmas club. Oh my goodness, it's the boss festive friends. It has spinach in there with all the good stuff, the turkey, the bacon, the pork and the stuffing. Oh it's the business. I've tried all of these so you know, it's Queenie approved. M&S even have Christmassy wraps this year. This one is a Boxing Day curry one. It's a butter sauce in there with the chicken. You get a coriander and mint yoghurt dip and bhaji style onions. Delish, £4. They also have these in the food to go section, these pork sausage rolls with cranberry. These are £3.25, they are incredibly filling. We also have a couple of these, these little dips. This is a creamy turkey with the turkey there, turkey gravy. There's a mini prawn cocktail one, both of those are £3.20. You can wash all that down with a lovely to-go version of the chocolate and orange milkshake. There's a gingerbread milkshake as well, I'll show you that later. The sandwiches also come in platters, you get 14 quarters for £17. These are so so handy if you've got people coming around just for a little Christmas cuppa and a mince pie. They're always lovely to have on hand. You get the same sorts of flavours as the individual sandwiches but you also get a beef and horseradish and a salmon and cream cheese. This isn't part of the festive food range but I had to mention it because it's absolutely gorgeous. Comes with a tomato and chilli chutney and the seeded baguette that it's on is just so lovely. It's not too hard, pop it in the oven just for a little bit and it's beautiful. It's got brie in it so I'm classing it as festive, it's £4.75. And of course M&S also do a gluten-free turkey feast. This is their made without range and it is £4.25 as well. And five percent of sales from M&S festive sandwiches go to Shelter, the homeless charity. And there's already two brie and cranberry reduced sarnies in my trolley. I mean business with the sandwiches, the Christmas sandwiches, festive friends. So I found all the party food, all the lovely things that we can just pop in the oven and get on with having a good time. They're on four for three again this year so let me walk you through what we've got. I think I'm going to start with the collection. We've got a 12 packet of handmade tiger prawn. There's a selection of flavours and just a plain prawn baguette one, a prawn and potato. And what one's that? A prawn and coconut. How lovely. We've got these sticking with the prawn, these paella bites. I love paella. These sound really interesting as well with the black pepper and the king prawns. On original scan everything seems to be eight pounds and it is all in the four for three. The pastry on these look lovely and they're a good size little morsel aren't they for a little canopy. Caramelised onion and goat's cheese tartlets. And I love a vol-au-vent. I am a child of the 80s after all. These ones look gorgeous. Look at these little bite-sized cuties. Mushroom and Madeira. And these look really lovely. These mini pulled beef on croutes. Look at the nice lattice pastry. I think these must be new. These gorgeous cheese and ham mini scones. I love a scone from the M&S bakery. I wonder if these are comparable. They sound lovely. The ham is honey and mustard. And these always go down really really well. There's always none left on the plate when I go when I get around to going for them. The barbecue pulled pork belly bites and the barbecue dip is lovely that you can drizzle over it as well. I love the mini pies. You get two kinds in here. You get six chicken and leek and six beef and pale ale. Plenty to share. I've just seen that box of a collection mini pork pies. We'll get to those in a minute. I seem to remember that we were heavy on the prawns in M&S last year and we're heavy on the prawns again this year. You get a little dip with these tempura ones. Theme continues with these little smoked salmon parcels. They've got a salmon mousse there and salmon around them. They're not just brie tartlets. They're brie from the Loire Valley tartlets and the cranberry sauce has got port in. I love the little snowman bao buns. Look how cute is he? They're too sweet to eat. They would look so nice on your Christmas table. These are definitely new. I would have remembered them. These come with a little maple and chilli sauce and they're buttermilk pancakes. How lovely. They'll be a hit. Look the devil at these. I'm just immediately thinking of Christmas morning. These are so nice. Mini ham and cheese croissants, serrano ham. Oh I bet they're lovely. Very buttery. Perfect for just before opening presents, getting your energy up. There's also a little box there of the best ever mini beef burgers, like your little sliders. More prawns festive friends. This time wrapped prawns in a light pastry. These rostis must be new as well. They look terribly nice. Look at these. Must be quite flavoursome too. Got the salmon on top there, cheddar and chive and sour cream. These are rice and lentil pancakes with a chorizo, pecorino and vintage cheddar cheese. These little mini tortillas. Wow. With smoky tomato and chorizo and a garlicky sauce. Yes please. Yes to the rostis. These also sound deeeelish. I like the sound of the crumb as well, the garlic and herb. I'm going to head on to the other range now which is slightly cheaper and stood on the four for three. Okay so they've taken the fish, they've put some chips around it, battered it and then given you a pea and mint crush. I like it. A nice selection here of the mini tarts. You get two types, the cheese and bacon and then you get a cheese, cheddar cheese, red lester and onion. Six of those. What a glorious sight the pigs in blankets are. They're also on the four for three. These prawns have been coated in a crunchy Japanese style panko crumb. I love that M&S are even calling these a retro favourite because they are the mini chicken kievs with the garlicky and cheese filling. I love the halloumi in blankets. These come with a hot honey drizzle as well and the halloumi fries come with a sweet chilli dip. Thai spring rolls come with a sweet and sour dipping sauce there and this range is all £5.25. The sauce that comes with this is a black rice vinegar, the crispy tempura vegetable fritters. Now this is just straight up fun. It's like Jenga. Food Jenga. Hash brown topple tower and it comes with a spicy tomato dip. You just build them up with the classic hash brown fingers. Fun. Watch them disappear. So I have done that section there. I'm going to hunt for some more for us. I wanted to show you both of these but only one of them is here. I have tried both and I will get a picture of the lasagna one for you. The turkey lasagna. Really, really good. So, so filling and really special. And there's also these. You'll find these with the M&S ready meals. This is the pigs in blankets mac and cheese. Comes with a bacon and a cranberry crumb. I'm trying to say crunch and crumb at the same time. This is gorgeous. This is £10 and it easily serves two with a nice bit of bread. This is going to sound really silly, but I always love seeing the Christmas packaging appearing with the big packs of like the carrot and sweet mash and the cabbage. I just really enjoy it. £7.25 for 900 grams of cauliflower cheese. £6 for 600 grams of the beautiful roasted parsnips. I'm starving now. £5.75 for the seasoned roast potatoes. I like the beef dripping ones. £8 for a roast vegetable gratin. Here they are for £5.75. Can we do a dress rehearsal of the Christmas dinner tonight? And 850 grams of buttery mash. 600 grams of the braised red cabbage is £6.25. This is £4.75. Yes for sprouts. I'm team sprouts. £5.75 for the buttery mash. I can't remember if I gave you the price. I'm totally thinking about my dinner now. But if you want a little tip, get the gastro range mashed potato if you just want to have a simple, easy life. And your guests will thank you. It's delicious. So what's new in the world of M&S? Festive cheese. I'll show you what's new. £12 for a French alpine baking cheese. Comes in a lovely little dish. £6.25 for a slightly smaller truffle cheese bake. And £5.25 for a classic Welsh rarebit cheese bake. The baking camembert is £4.75 and comes with a sweet chilli glaze. This here is £8 and it's on the advert. The hot honey and bacon baking camembert. The wreath is gone. The garlic bread and camembert wreath. Where is it? The Santa hat cheese here is £6 and it's onions with balsamic vinegar. It's a cheddar. I like the sound of that Wensleydale with the cranberry and orange. And there's a vintage red fox with chilli. A few more for us here on the party end. Crispy dark spring rolls with a hoisin dip. And the southern fried chicken bites come with a smoky chipotle and tomato dip. I've also just chanced upon the prawn toast. A bit of a classic. These are the best ever. They've got a bit of ginger going on there with a sweet chilli dipping sauce. These are also in the four for three. £7.50 for these little beauties. You get three original Melton and Mowbray pork pies. I think one's got pork and cranberry in and the other one's got pork and cranberry and port. So that's a nice selection, isn't it? I'm kind of sad because last year M&S bought out the little dinky sausages with cranberry in and they were delicious and they haven't bought them back. The same as they never bought that brie pizza back. Oh it's a shame. And also this year I can't even find the garlic dough ball pizza. Disaster. Waitrose have got a festive quiche. We'll do Waitrose soon festive friends. Old garlic and butter and herb crumb. I found that just by all the stuffing and the piggies. The best ever pigs in blankets are £6.25 and they're wrapped in a dry cured and maple smoked bacon for the best ever flavour it says. The standard pigs in blanket packs are £5.25 and the cocktail sausages are £5.25 without the little bacon. They're cold, they want their blankets. Massive packs of the pork sausage meat for £8.25 and a slightly smaller £4.54 gram pack for £5. I always like these garnish selections where you get the stuffing and the piggies for £10. My favourite pork and cranberry stuffing in a slab for £7. This one's also lovely £5.75 for the collection one with the chestnuts and this one here is a £5.60 gram so just a bigger pack for £7.50 and that is also the stuffing with the chestnuts just in the classic range and £5 for the classic pork sage and onion in a slab. It also comes in a bigger pack. Wrapped in oak and applewood smoked bacon. These are just like stuffing aren't they with the chestnuts in and the pork. Oh my gosh, lovely. And of course there's a honey mustard ham joint. This just reminds me happily of Christmas with the cranks. And of course we've got to get the turkey. We're waiting for the turkeys. This is where they will be. I'm doing a turkey run this year so you can all come with me if you like. I'm also still waiting for the Christmas desserts, the puds. As soon as they're here we'll look at them.
