Vintage watch collector writes 25-pound book

Watch collector and historian Fredric J. Friedberg spent a decade writing a 1,600-page, five-volume book set on the history of Illinois Watch Co. The company, once a leading U.S. watch firm, has been shuttered for nearly 90 years, but Friedberg hopes his project will reinvigorate interest in the brand.
