so I can give you some specific answers
to the questions you will have to answer.
Now, to help you pass your job interview,
I am going to cover four things in this training video.
Here they are.
Number one, I will tell you the three things
all hiring managers look for during job interviews.
If you understand what the hiring manager is looking for,
it makes it far easier for you to pass your interview.
Number two, I will then tell you the four simple things
you must do before your interview to make sure you pass.
Number three, I will then tell you
which interview questions you must prepare for
before number four giving you
top-scoring, unique example answers.
So, there's lots of things here
that are gonna help you easily beat the competition.
So let's get started with those three things
all hiring managers look for
in candidates during job interviews.
Please make sure you write these down.
Here we go.
The first thing all hiring managers look for
is someone who has the right, write this down,
attitude and also someone who is,
and this is really important, enthusiastic.
So during your job interview,
you want to demonstrate you have the right attitude.
You understand that having a job
means you must do great things in your work
to give the company a good return on their salary.
They are investing in hiring you
and you have to give them a good return.
Demonstrate that during your interview
and also make sure you are enthusiastic about the job role.
If you don't demonstrate passion for your work,
you will not get hired.
So during the rest of this training video,
I will teach you how to demonstrate the right attitude
but also tell the hiring manager
you are enthusiastic about the opportunity.
The second thing all hiring managers look for
is someone who has the skills
and knowledge to do the job competently.
That is why it is absolutely vital
you read the job description before your interview.
Now the job description is the blueprint
for the role you have applied for.
On the job description, there will be a list
of the essential skills and qualities needed
to perform the job role competently.
Make sure you have a quick read
of the job description before your interview
because that will help tell the hiring manager
you definitely have the skills and knowledge
to do the job to a competent standard.
Now the third thing all hiring managers look for
during job interviews is a very important one
and that is someone who has strong,
take a note of this, communication skills.
Now throughout your job interview,
the hiring manager will be assessing your ability
to communicate effectively
and that is why I always recommend,
strongly recommend all candidates practice
their answers to the interview questions
before they attend the job interview.
Now don't forget, later on I will tell you
which questions you must prepare for
but I will also give you top scoring example answers
so you can write them down
and practice them before your interview.
If you don't practice them
and you are mumbling through your responses,
that tells the hiring manager
you don't have good communication skills.
Communication skills is the top skill needed
in all job roles so make sure you practice your answers.
Okay, now that we know the three things
all hiring managers look for,
let's move on to the four things you must do
before your job interview.
I promise you, if you do all of these four things,
your chances of passing will increase significantly.
Make sure, again, you write these down.
Number one is to make sure you quickly
research the company you are applying to work at.
This is absolutely vital.
It doesn't take long to research a company properly.
Now here's what I recommend you do.
First of all, go onto the website
of the company or organization
and they should have an About Us page.
Find out what they actually do.
That's really important.
The majority of candidates have no idea
what the company does that they are applying to work at.
That is a big mistake.
Can you imagine being in the interview
and the hiring manager says to you,
tell me what you know about our company
and you don't know.
You are not going to get hired.
Have a look at their About Us page on their website.
Find out what they do and also what their company mission is.
The second thing to do is to quickly
research their products or services.
Find out what they sell or offer
and also this is a great tip.
Have a look at the positive online reviews
the customers are saying about them
because that will give you a good indication
as to their company values.
And finally, make sure you follow them on social media.
Follow them on social media to find out
what their latest news story is.
Now researching a company will take
no longer than five minutes
but it can make a massive difference
to the outcome of your interview
because it tells the hiring manager
you are serious about working for them.
Now I have already mentioned this previously
but again I want to reiterate the importance of it.
The second thing you must do before your interview
is to make sure you quickly read that job description.
As I said previously, the job description
is the blueprint for the role.
If you read it, it will tell you the skills
and qualities needed to perform the job role competently.
Now this is a really important tip.
When the hiring manager says to you
what are your greatest strengths in your interview
and they will ask you that question,
make sure you align your strengths
with the skills needed in the job role.
Now the third thing to do before your job interview
is make sure you write down a list
of your top five strengths
and you are going to focus on these
during the job interview when answering the questions.
So if you write down a list of your top five strengths,
you are being positive
and you are telling the hiring manager
these are the things I can do
to make a positive difference in the role.
Now some of the best strengths for job interviews
are as follows.
First of all, and we have mentioned this already,
is someone who has good communication skills.
The second top strength,
and this is one that all hiring managers are looking for,
is someone who is able to problem solve.
So if you say to the hiring manager,
I am a good problem solver
and someone who always takes ownership
of difficult challenges when they occur
to achieve a successful outcome,
then the hiring manager is more likely
going to be interested in offering you the job.
So we have communication skills,
someone who is a good problem solver,
and also someone who is a collaborator.
What does that mean?
Well, if you are a collaborator,
it doesn't just mean that you are a good team worker.
It means that you work really closely
with your coworkers, stakeholders,
and other company departments
to achieve the company's mission.
If you are a collaborator,
it tells the hiring manager you have a deep understanding
of how important teamwork is in any job role.
Make sure you watch the rest of the video
because I will disclose some more great strengths
that will help you beat the competition.
Now, before I come on to the interview questions
I recommend you prepare for,
plus give you top scoring answers,
let me tell you the fourth thing you must do
before your interview,
and that is to write down
three smart questions to ask the hiring manager.
Now, at the end of your job interview,
they will say to you,
do you have any questions for us?
Did you know that nine out of 10 candidates
respond by saying, no, I don't have any questions
because you covered everything in the interview?
That is a really big mistake.
But which questions should you ask?
Here they are, write these down.
Question number one is,
what is it that the top performing employees do
in this company to achieve success?
That is a really smart question to ask
because it subtly tells the hiring manager
you want to replicate the same level of success
as the company's top performing employees.
Make sure you write that question down.
The second question to ask at the end of your interview is,
what are the biggest challenges
the company is currently facing,
and what can I do in this role to help you overcome them?
So again, that tells the hiring manager
you are intently focused
on having a positive impact in your work.
And the third question to ask the hiring manager is,
what's the best thing about working for this company?
That is a positive question
that makes the hiring manager feel good
because they can tell you the great things they like
about working for the company.
In the next section of this video,
I'm going to tell you the top five interview questions
you must prepare for,
plus give you top scoring example responses.
Again, write these down
and make sure you practice them before your interview.
Don't forget, it is vital
that you demonstrate good communication skills
throughout the job interview.
Here we go.
The first question you are going to have to answer
at your job interview will be, tell me about yourself.
Now, this is the first time the hiring manager
is going to hear you communicate.
So again, make sure you practice your response.
But what should you talk about
when answering that question, tell me about yourself?
Let me put up on the screen a really simple image
that will help remind you
of the four things you should always talk about
when answering that question, tell me about yourself.
Now, you will see that here on the screen,
I am drawing an image of a seat.
And you, of course, will be sitting down on a seat
at your interview.
And you're going to talk about four things.
S, E, A, T.
So it's really easy to remember.
And these four things that stand for seat are as follows.
Write these down.
So you will start off and you will talk about
some of the skills you have that match the job description.
Don't forget, one of the tips I gave you previously
was to write down your top five strengths
right at the very start of your interview.
When answering the question, tell me about yourself,
you are going to begin to focus on your skills and strengths.
The skills you have that are going to add value in the role.
Now, E stands for your education background.
Quickly tell the hiring manager where you studied
and the qualifications you have.
And also, then move on and tell them
about any experience you can bring to the company.
So S is skills, E is your educational background,
and any experience you can bring to the company.
You will then briefly talk about
some of your accomplishments.
So if you tell the hiring manager
about one or two accomplishments
you have attained in your life so far,
it tells the hiring manager cleverly
that you are a high achiever.
And all hiring managers want to employ people
who are high achievers.
And then you finish your answer to the question,
tell me about yourself,
by telling the hiring manager the type of person you are
and how you are going to add value
to the organization in your work.
So don't forget, those four things
you are going to talk about is seat structure, S-E-A-T.
The skills you have, your educational background
and experience, your accomplishments,
and the type of person you are.
So let me now give you a powerful,
top-scoring example answer
that uses my brilliant seat structure.
Here we go.
Tell me about yourself.
Here we go.
Thank you for this opportunity.
I am a hardworking, diligent, self-motivated,
and supportive collaborator
who has the skills and knowledge
to match the job description.
I graduated from college with good grades in,
and then you insert your subjects.
And since then, I have gained experience working on teams,
completing time-sensitive projects,
and delivering excellent customer service.
I already have a track record of achievement.
For example, in my last position,
my manager praised my strong work ethic,
how I regularly asked customers for feedback
to improve the business,
and helped train new team members when they joined.
If you hire me,
I will be a positive role model for the company,
take ownership of problems when they occur,
and take responsibility for my professional development
to ensure I always add value to the company.
So that is a brilliant top-scoring example answer
to that question, tell me about yourself,
that uses my SEAT structure, S-E-A-T.
Make sure you pause the video,
write down the response,
and practice it before your interview
to demonstrate good communication skills.
The second question I really want you to prepare for is,
why do you want this job?
Now this is a common but difficult interview question,
but there is an easy way to give the perfect answer.
First of all, make sure you give three reasons
why you want the job.
Not one reason, tell the hiring manager,
I want this job for three reasons.
And one of those reasons should demonstrate
to the hiring manager that you have done your research.
If you research the company,
and then tell him you have in your answer,
it will convince the hiring manager
that you plan to build a long-term career
with their company.
And trust me, that's really good for the hiring manager.
They want to take someone on
who's going to commit to the organisation
for a lengthy period of time.
So let me now give you a brilliant example response
to the question, why do you want this job,
that gives three brilliant reasons.
Write this down and practise it.
Why do you want this job?
Well, I want this job for three reasons.
First, it is a role and industry I am passionate about.
This means I will get lots of job satisfaction in my work.
The second reason I want this job
is because there is always something new to learn.
The industry is evolving,
and I will get to work on tasks and projects
that push my skills and knowledge.
And finally, I want this job because it is with your company.
I researched you, and you have a positive workplace culture.
Your values align with mine,
and you support your co-workers
so they can reach their full potential.
That is a brilliant answer.
The next question I want to help you prepare for is,
what are your greatest strengths?
Now, if you remember early on in this tutorial,
I gave you three really good strengths for interviews,
but there are also two other strengths
I recommend you use in your response.
And that is to say that you are a fast worker.
That means that you are going to get more work done
than the average employee.
And I also recommend you tell the hiring manager
one of your strengths is that you always embrace change
with a positive attitude.
Don't forget, companies and organizations
must embrace change to stay ahead of the competition,
and they want to hire someone
who will support the company in new initiatives.
So let me give you another top-scoring,
brilliant answer to our difficult question,
what are your greatest strengths?
Here we go.
What are your greatest strengths?
Well, my greatest strengths are a perfect match
for the job description.
I am a fast and diligent worker
who gets more work completed than the average person,
and I rarely make mistakes.
Other strengths include my ability
to fit quickly into any team,
and my commitment to supporting my co-workers
in achieving the team's goal.
And finally, I am a positive person
who understands the importance of change.
I will always support the company in new initiatives
to help it become the market leader.
I am sure you will agree those are brilliant strengths
for a job interview.
Write down the answer and practice it.
Now this next question, what is your biggest weakness,
is a tricky one to answer.
The majority of people say either no,
I don't have any weaknesses,
or they say my biggest weakness is I am a perfectionist.
Do not use either of those responses
if you want to pass your interview.
The hiring manager is asking you this tough question
for two reasons.
Reason number one, they want to see how honest you are.
If you say you don't have any weaknesses,
you're not telling the truth.
We all have weaknesses.
For example, my biggest weakness
is I am quite an impatient person.
I want to get things done as soon as possible.
Now the second reason they are asking you this question
is because they want to assess self-awareness.
What do I mean?
Well, if you understand what your weaknesses are,
you are more likely to take positive action
to improve on them,
and that's good for the organization.
So let me give you a brilliant response to that question,
what is your biggest weakness?
Here we go.
My biggest weakness is that I struggle to say no to people.
When someone asks me for help or to do additional work,
I automatically say yes,
which sometimes means I overcommit.
Now I have this weakness
because I don't want to let people down.
However, I have been learning to assess my capacity
for additional work before committing
to ensure standards are maintained.
Brilliant weakness.
The next question I want to help you answer
is a really difficult one,
and that question is,
what makes you stand out from the other candidates?
How do you answer this question correctly?
Let me teach you how.
Now I have created a brilliant, awesome video
