The only thing that we can say is that not all upgrades work. If that happens, you must bring the software or operating system back to the previous time and date. This is what happened to Microsoft Azure. They had to move fast because there are GRAND companies that depend on their portal.
Here's the article from CNBC that we used.
https://www.cnbc.com/2025/10/29/microsoft-hit-with-azure-365-outage-ahead-of-quarterly-earnings.html
The recording has started.
Well, now, always remember
Super Dave Bistumbo, the tall, white,
gothic vampire alien.
Coming to you from the Tim Hortons, this one
on Samson Boulevard, that's at the corner of
Elysees Street or Avenue.
You know, we're in the parking lot
of the Plaza Elysee, along with the Morolatos.
No, it's a whoops.
No, Morolatos.
Supermarche PA or PA supermarket.
I don't know what PA stands for, but anyways.
Maggie Pree, which is kind of like a dollar store,
but a little more expensive.
Just slightly.
And Farmer Pree, the Quebec version
of Shopper's Drug Mart.
Now, crossing Samson from where we are.
Actually, if you cross Elysee, you have a gas station
and then you have the corner of
of Lavec, which is also bordering on 100th Avenue.
Crossing that Lavec is
is a garage.
It's named GULF, G-U-L-F.
It probably also has gas pumps.
But the thing is, is that it's not the official
Gulf gas station that used to be around in the 1970s,
at least here in Montreal or rather in Quebec.
They used to be all over Laval and Montreal and stuff like that.
And also the South Shore.
But there it's not it doesn't exist
anymore as a gas station, as an official gas station.
Whoops.
Now, crossing from crossing
Samson Bovard from where we are going a little bit west
is at the corner of 100th Avenue,
which is also across the street from Lavec.
That's going down.
There's another there's another strip mall with
PJC Pharmacie Jean Coutu on one corner
and the other corner is CIBC.
It also has other other stores.
It has other places like a realty place called
Kronos.
It has a Depanard.
I don't know.
I don't know if it's Proprio or something else.
It just has Depanard on it.
It has a subway
and it also has a pastry, a Greek pastry shop
called Ambrosia.
You know, they sell baklava, kataifi and also other
Greek and also European pastries.
At the right of the right next to it is a place
that's run by an Armenian.
He has a it's kind of a
grocery delicatessen type of place,
which has Basturma and Sucuk
and other things.
You know, it also has
cheeses and stuff like that.
It's called Mourad.
Next to them, next to it, right next to the PJC
is a fish store called
Casablanca.
It's probably Moroccan.
Oops.
Crossing 100th Avenue on Sampson
is the Petrobras gas station
here in the area of Chamonix, Laval, Quebec.
Super Dave Bistula of Laval, Quebec, Canada.
So it seems to me that
there was a blackout
on the servers of Microsoft Azure.
And there's a few businesses that were affected by this.
As you'll see, when my host,
my digital host, David, reads from CNBC News.
What happened there?
We're not sure.
Some sort of technical glitch
affected probably some trade that was happening.
Now, what was Microsoft doing?
We're not sure.
Then again, a place, a business that's run by Bill Gates.
Maybe they've, but apparently, surprisingly enough,
they've gotten the blackout taken care of.
Well, if such is the case, OK, good.
But what happened?
Why was this happening?
And you can see
that we basically are very skeptical
about digital currency, you know what I mean?
Being replacing the currency that we have,
even though it's faulty,
the Canadian currency right now, as well as the U.S.,
although the U.S.
is going to improve under Donald Trump.
But what happened?
We're not sure.
Anyways, my host, David,
will now take over,
and he's going to read from the CNBC News.
David?
Whoop.
Yeah, it's me again.
OK, well, whatever.
So, what the **** happened?
But then again, Bill Gates is not even involved
because Bill Gates is trying to put that stupid-ass
thing into every food,
but he's getting into trouble now.
Good.
I'm glad that ************ is going to be around.
You know, Microsoft is probably better off without him.
Anyways, what can I say?
Trying to patent the ******* vaccine.
**** you, Bill Gates.
Anyways, what happened to Azure?
What happened to the servers?
We're not sure.
Are they being run by Microsoft Windows?
What is it now?
What's the server?
Is it 2025?
I'm not sure.
Or is it still 2020?
Or is it 2023?
But apparently, one of their upgrades wasn't working well,
so they had to roll it back.
They had to roll back the servers.
Hmm, kind of the same thing what I do with my computer.
If something goes wrong, I have to roll it back.
I have to put it into safe mode,
log in as an administrator, and roll it back.
Same thing has been done,
probably been done with the servers.
Hmm, some improvements don't work very well, do they now?
Maybe it's best you work with Unix or Linux.
Sun, but never, ever try to patent anything from Sun
on your own.
You did it before, and Sun almost sued your asses off.
Anyways, whoops.
As Super Dave Bistula said,
I'm gonna reduce myself to a little blip,
and I'm gonna read from CNBC as to what the **** happened.
So here goes nothing.
All right, come on.
I'll read when I get home.
Okay, menu, camera, hi there.
All right, let's make ourselves a little bit bigger.
Okay, CNBC News.
Yep, it's refreshing.
Azure outage.
Microsoft still working on fix.
Says auto-recovery expected in several hours.
Hey, you big guys better work fast.
I know how it is on the IT world.
You better download, get that thing finally fixed up.
Because even some professionals who understand
will still give you ----.
That's the reason why, as we said earlier,
we don't trust a digital economy.
Okay, published Wednesday, October 29th, 2025, 12.43 p.m.
Eastern something, what does the east stand for?
T is for time.
Updated October 29th, 2025, 7.39 p.m.
Eastern whatever.
By Jonathan Vanian.
Oh, he's an Armenian.
I understood, okay, interesting.
All right, here we go.
Key points.
Microsoft was hit with an outage affecting its Azure
and 365 service hours before the company was scheduled
to report quarterly results.
Bullshit.
I guess these stock traders were getting pissed off.
What the **** did you do?
We are investigating an issue
with the Azure portal where customers
may be experiencing issues accessing the portal.
The company said in the status page.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella's following a meeting
at the White House task force on AI education
in the East Room of the White House in Washington,
September 4th, 2025, okay, whatever.
Microsoft was hit with outages on its Azure cloud
and 365 services on Wednesday hours
before the company's quarterly earnings release.
Oh, boy, what the **** did you do?
I guess you better work fast.
What the ****, roll back your servers.
From that update, users on social media
reported problems accessing their sites
and services running on Microsoft products.
And the company's website, including its Xbox,
oh, boy, gamers were pissed off.
And investor relations pages were down.
Shit, I think you have some angry gamers.
The problem began around 11.40 a.m. Eastern time,
according to Down Detector, according to Down Detector,
which replies on users' reports.
We are working to address an issue
affecting Azure front door, that is impacting
the availability of some services,
a Microsoft spokesperson said in an emailed statement.
Customers should continue to check
on their service health alerts.
And the latest update on this issue
can be found on the Azure status page.
Okay.
The Azure support on X said we're investigating
an issue impacting several Azure services
and that customers may experience issues
when accessing services.
Better get that fixed up.
Maybe you should have a Linux server on the site,
instead of just using your Microsoft servers.
Just saying.
The latest update on Azure's status page says
the issues began with AFD at about noon Eastern time, ET.
And that customers at Microsoft services using AFD
may have experienced latencies, timeouts, and errors.
Even if you do a trace route,
you're gonna experience maybe an error.
That's sort of possible.
Anyways, the company said it suspects
an inadvertent configuration change was the trigger
and that it's rolling back to our last known good state
for AFD services.
See what I mean?
Sometimes I had to do that on my own computer,
like a regular Windows computer, the Windows 10.
Mind you, I should get a computer
that could run Windows 11.
But anyways, that's gonna wait until later.
Microsoft said it's seen strong sites of improvement
across the affected regions
and are tracking toward full mitigation
by 7.40 p.m. Eastern time.
Okay.
The company lists that more than a dozen Azure services
that were hit, including Azure Databricks,
Azure Maps, and Azure Virtual Desktop.
Good boy.
Is Azure Maps a road map like Google Maps?
Okay.
Microsoft's 365 status account wrote that its services
are experienced downstream impact
related to ongoing Azure chain outage.
Good boy.
The service disruptions come a little over a week
after a larger Amazon web service reported a major outage
that took down numerous websites.
Good boy.
Throughout the day, on October 20th, AWS said it observed
increased error rates.
Okay, maybe you're not as bad as Amazon.
For customers, when trying to launch a new instance in EC2,
it's popular cloud service
that provides virtual server capacity.
AWS leads in cloud infrastructure with 32% of the market
as of the first quarter.
According to Canalys,
Azure is second at 23%,
followed by Google's cloud unit at 10%.
Azure and Google Cloud have been growing faster of late,
driven by a boom in artificial intelligence workloads.
Remember, watch out with some of these AIs.
Remember what Elon Musk warned you about.
All three companies reported quarterly results this week.
No, okay, that's good.
It was starting with Microsoft and Google,
Google parent alphabet, on Wednesday after the bell.
Amazon reports on Thursday.
Alaska Airlines said on Wednesday afternoon
that it's currently experiencing disruption to key systems,
which include websites due to the outage on Azure.
Oh, ----.
For several, Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines are hosted.
I think you better use two types of websites.
Alaska closed in $1.9 billion acquisition
of Hawaiian last year.
In March,
Microsoft suffered an outage over a weekend
that left tens of thousands of users
unable to access their Outlook email accounts
and other programs.
Blah, blah, blah.
Anything else?
Nope, I guess that's about it.
I don't know what else to say.
Let's close that.
We'll close this.
Come on, baby.
Close that.
And there you have it in a nutshell.
Okay, they added disruption.
They added an outage.
I guess it was fixed up,
but you know how technology can be.
Remember that before you do a go digital economy
or whatever, digital transactions.
That's why I do not like digital transactions.
I'd rather use a paper money.
Thank you very much.
Right, Super Dave?
Too many outages that have been happening so far.
Even with Amazon, I don't know what happened.
Anyways, that's it.
Super Dave just concluded and closed it off.
A technical glitch due to a faulty upgrade.
Due to a technical, a faulty technical upgrade.
That's probably what it is.
So they had to roll it right back again.
Mind you, it was quicker than we thought.
Maybe it's a little bit better,
but you have to watch out what you are upgrading.
Probably so often.
But then again, our ship's computer had a faulty as well.
Before I met David, he kept on doing that as well.
Luckily for us, we had a backup computer,
a backup server, just in case that happened.
We had to roll back the main one.
Hopefully, maybe a backup solution should be done.
We don't know.
Whoops.
Anyways.
At this point, I will bid you adieu, au revoir, adios.
Hasta maรฑana, hasta luego.
Arrivederci.
Shalom.
Salam aleikum.
Sayonara.
Dosvidanya.
Auf Wiedersehen.
Yassas, paretsas, goodbye.
Also, merci beaucoup.
Muchos gracias.
Mucho gracia.
Tuta raba.
Shukria.
Shukran.
Xiexie.
Spasiba.
Dankeschรถn.
Echaristopolim.
Shachom ragalom.
And what more is there to say?
Technical glitch.
Then again, with computers, you have to go through that.
And you have to watch out for some upgrades
because they're probably faulty.
You're taking a risk when you upgrade sometimes.
That's the way it is.
Just like Windows, you remember.
Vista, the operating system, Vista.
Windows 8.
And even way back when, Windows ME.
What can I say?
We had to roll back or move forward
to something even newer, which is an improvement
to what the original upgrade was.
But if you don't, you are still stuck.
Whoops.
You are still stuck in.
That's it.
It was, that's it.
We had enough of.
Thank you very much.
