The ULTIMATE PGA TOUR Wedge Challenge | Pro vs Pro

welcome back to the channel i'm in punta mita mexico today one fairy tour player mackenzie tour player latino american tour player mr jared hack we're going head to head to see who's got the best wedge games for kind of a former player so let's do this let's do it man [Music] so at the back of the driving range at punta mita you have this incredible practice facility and right out here you have six greens and these greens the size of them is the tour average or tour best it's the tour average proximity so these greens are the size of the tour average from that yardage so 45 yards that tiny little guy that's the average proximity to the hole from this yard the pga tour so jared and i are taking a little break from the work of the punta mita invitational and we're gonna have a little wedge contest two shots each green you gotta land it on the green it might not stay on the green so land on the green that's a point max points you can get is 12. you may be asking who is jared this is jared hack originally from florida living in vegas now yeah played corn fairy tour yeah did you ever play mackenzie tour i did i played a season 2017. and you played latino america tour 18th on on the money list yeah you had a good year up there um two years on latino tour three full uh web years and now working a bit but yeah working on getting back to playing too also yeah i'd like to i'm starting to get the uh the passion back a little bit so stuff like this is fun to spark that competitive drive so jared is part of ppg with derek and uh helping move all these pieces around to make this incredible tournament this pro-am happened so enough talk let's see whose wedge game is the worst or best let's do it jared's the guest on the channel so he gets to pick the green he wants so the first screen is 45 yards i believe this one's 71 119 we gotta zap them all but you pick the green you want we'll zap it you know since you said we're both kind of old and washed off let's start with the 45-yarder first okay 45 yards this first one right here dare gets two shots and then i'll swipe in there for two that's long oh smoking i landed on the other green you hit the flag on the other green i'm gonna i'm gonna claim i caught a flyer off the mat so that's uh zero i'm gonna slow that tempo down a little bit here [Music] yep you hit the back side of it points salvaged with the point could have been really [Music] a little bit of a block party it's okay let's be expected it's crazy how small that is it really is your finishing number on that is yeah [Music] we tell the viewers right we at the end of the day that's the proximity finishing and typically on a 45-yard shot you're not trying to fly it in the hole correct but that's that's the challenge today so what was the flag you hit it's got to be around 60 60 60. okay here we go okay i'm gonna go to the 70 okay we got 71 yards caught a piece of the back edge there caught a piece of the back edge got a piece of it just just a little short damn okay 1-1 71 yards well clearly i know how to hit 60 yards take a commanding lead if you hit both of them right now just long just long i always take the ball longer off firm surfaces so i gotta i think yeah the match is tricky squeeze off the mat i gotta that's right at it yep back side back side two one two one now you get to pick uh pick the next green let's go for that far guy i think we got about 119. i think it's 119. yeah it's gonna be a pretty full i i carry like a 53 and a half so it's yeah i've got a 54 and that's kind of it's hot here in mexico i think this might be a full one [Music] yeah so the green's a lot bigger out there just a bit short we might have to put this that green looks enormous compared to the 45 yards but now with the little chippy pitching wedge the sand wedge still feels like but this is what's super interesting you think that's 120 yards that's the average proximity that's probably 16 18 feet yeah so people think you know on tour they're flagging it but it's perfect a little different oh no he lost it out to the right that's [Music] okay swoop in there at the 119 yardage maybe a little softer than always we play but he's going with the chippy shot after seeing me uh get ahead of the pitching or the sand iron how do we do it all right tied two two he's got a chance to take the lead here they bounced so hard oh i thinned it oh it's coming back i think he gets there dude oh wow he just smoked me two two all right sorry three two three i'm up three two your pick halfway through i'm going to that 60-yarder yeah the 60-yarder oh that was so bad folks real quick he's you know he's nervy with the lead it's been a while since he's been in contention oh boy better tempo how'd we do we got it all right so he's he's got a 4-2 lead i've got to hit both of these [Applause] yeah yeah that's got it yep we got one four to three that one can we do it again [Music] oh i think it's long oh it's a little long and you can tell because it doesn't bounce in the dirt four it was about a foot too long all right you have two greens left we've got the two middle middle long greens left yeah so i think there are 100 lasers they're probably like 90 and this thing is very very fortunate did a good job with these you got 87 and 103. we're going to go let's go 87 i'm going to keep this in my hand i'm down uh 4-3 sorry i need to hit both of these to put a little heat on that wear pattern is really nice on your wedge right there that looks really good [Music] no long it didn't bounce it didn't bounce i'm at a severe disadvantage folks four to three he's giving me a glimmer of hope folks but hit it about 100 yards basically if he if he nails this one i've got to hit both of the last [Music] there's still hope all right he goes first on this last 103. if he hits him both folks i'm done it's over yeah it's over so he's it's got a chance here so what is it 103 103. i got clearly the chippy is what i can do right now oh it's fading right palm tree oh it caught palm trees hit the tree all right oh no gave me a chance i could buy a whole set of sexes joint parties wow folks i've got to hit both shots at the top yeah you got to get both 103 i've got to hit both [Music] no you got the tree too okay you get one more let's see what the final tally is though [Music] we're busy working oh it's floating right it's floating right yo you caught the side so 5'4 finish brother thank you sir good match i really hope you enjoyed that that was a lot of fun five to four probably not we we would have been happy with maybe like a seven six at least half but we can do better but that is awesome this wedge green is that's super super pretty cool area to have for our practice yeah so give it a thumbs up if you enjoyed that little challenge and there's a lot more coming from mexico and go check out the pbg youtube channel it's coming with some awesome head-to-head matches between all the pj tour players that are here so i'll see you in all those you
