Having Children Creates Economic and Emotional Stability: Pro-Life Advocate

The government expects to roll out the Trump accounts program next year. Joining us to discuss is Sean Carney, CEO of 40 Days for Life. So Sean, thank you very much for joining us today. Good afternoon to you. Um, does the creation of Trump accounts show a strong focus and care about children uh the next generation by this administration in your view? >> Absolutely. I mean, even when Trump was running in 2016, he put an emphasis on on increasing the child tax credit. Uh, his children were talking about having work programs so that that women who wanted to stay at home were had better opportunities to work from home and be at home with their children, which Trump has done in all of his companies uh as an employer. Uh, this just shows that if we don't have children, we don't have a country. And it has come to a head uh that we are in a demographic winter uh particularly in the west and America is dependent on immigration. Uh we barely replace ourselves at 2.1 children per household and we need all the incentives as possible. It's expensive to raise children as everyone knows and these accounts are great. They grow tax-free and and it was it it's such a smart logical thing for young parents. Do you think this could help improve long-term outcomes for children uh in lower and middle inome families? What are the potential long-term benefits that children could see? >> Well, for sure, the the initial investment of $1,000. Uh you can go in and you can match that. You can contribute every year. You could take your child tax credit that you get from your kids and put it in there. It can it can be invested and it can grow and it grows tax-free. It's just another advantage uh to help families like the child tax credit uh have children because you know and I know people without children complain about these tax benefits but the reality is is we don't have a future as a country if if we don't have children and family is the foundation of western civilization much less the United States and so we have to support these families particularly uh middle inome lowincome families these are great incentives uh they're wonderful programs and they they give a little bit of a pat on the back to to parents who are struggling to raise kids and pay for all their needs. >> Can I just ask you um how focused is this administration on the idea of family compared to previous administrations? >> Well, I mean, it's not even close. I mean, Donald Trump is the most pro-life president we've ever had by far. if you just look at uh the abortion issue, but just in regards to family, I mean, he tripled the child tax credit, you know, people that say he he's not looking out for families are are crazy. And frankly, that's why he won places like Pennsylvania and Michigan. They listened to him. Those bluecollar uh uh uh states listened to what he said about, you know, we're not going to ship jobs overseas. We're going to bring them back. We're going to give tax incentives for people who buy American cars. we're going to give tax incentives for for people who have children or trying to buy a house. Uh he is extremely pro- family as you see in his personal life. His kids are very close to him and and he's very he's very close to his own children and grandchildren and so he has definitely supported the family. This is a very positive thing. I'm glad that they're they're announcing this particularly heading into the the Christmas season and and we need more of this in America because we are not replacing ourselves. We have a huge crisis in the west and some of these other programs in Europe to incentivize people to to have children have not worked. We need to do everything possible uh because we are going to have a an economic disaster in this country if we're completely dependent on immigration for uh for our jobs in the future. And Sean, it appears that Trump's actions um has had a cascading effect across America, uh maybe in the private sector because we saw Michael and Susan Dell's donation, right? It marks the largest single phil uh philanthropic gift in recent US history. So, how do you see this? >> It's so encouraging to see the Del >> Yes. >> Yeah. The Dell family giving that money. It it's it it just shows there's also I think it's fair to say there's a little bit of fear here. I mean what Elon Musk has been saying the last couple of years which we as an organization have been saying for a long time and sociolog so sociologists around the world half the sociologists of the world believe we are drastically underpopulated and finally Elon Musk started talking about it. Joe Rogan started talking about it and all this garbage we were sold about uh the overpopulation in the 70s or 80s uh it is coming to bite us in the rear end now because we have generations of people who did not have children or have very few children and and you know this is the social security crisis. This is so many other problems that we have because we are not we don't have enough people in the future to support uh our our jobs at all levels of our economy uh much less just our our population as a country. >> Sean, what is your message to families whose main concern perhaps of not having children is uh the financial aspect? >> Well, it just makes you normal, you I mean, I have kids. Every many people have kids. The world doesn't end. It gets a lot better. And you know, all the statistics show that a married couple with children is set up better to succeed uh economically and financially uh than single parents uh or people without children. And because there's that stability, there's that motivation. Not only does it bring the marriage the marriage closer uh but it gives you focus and it gives you goals. And that's that's good uh for your workplace. That's good for your your home life. And so and there's no greater joy uh than having a child. There's no greater motivation to get up and and go to work in the morning uh and live your life as a decent person than having kids look at you and and and monitor you all day in in your actions.
