Greggs Christmas Baguette: The Best Fast Food Festive Sandwich??

How are we all doing out there? I hope you're all spot on. Now, I'm going to go to Greg's. There is a Christmas baguette out. I reviewed it not last year, but the year before. Um, I've had a look at the video to see the price and to see what's in it. So, I'm going to go the drive-thru and we're going to see how much it is and see if anything's changed. So, let's go to Gregs. So, I did it two years ago and I had a bit of a two years ago I had a right nightmare. Uh, everything went wrong. It was a total failure. I got it in the end. The irony of it is the irony of it. The irony of it is is that we've got a Gregs in Dalton where I live, but I want to go to the drive-thru because two years ago they didn't have it or it wasn't stocked. I can't remember now. And I've I've not been through it yet, only that once. And that was a failure. So, I want to do it right this time. So, we're here. Greg's drivethru. Right. How do we get through it? Oh, there it is. There. Here we are. Welcome to Greg's drive-thru. The festive feast. Hot Christmas baguette. That's the one we want. So, success. I ordered it. Hot Christmas lunch baguette. I think it was limited time obviously and it has gone up in price from two years ago. I'll tell you how much it's gone up and what's in it when we park up and it's just getting made now. So, success from two years ago. I've got it. Um price has gone up. Let's have a look. See, get the receipt. So, two years ago it was £3.70. Um two years later it is £455. So, it's gone up 85 p in two years. Yeah. Yeah. Service was okay. Nothing special. Just they didn't look like they wanted to work to be in there to be honest. I'm not surprised. It was busy. Uh inside the actual restaurant itself. Loads of sort of beeps going off. It's like PlayStation game. There's beeps going off everywhere for different ovens and stuff and all kinds of things. So, what did you get in it? Uh two years ago, you got a chicken breast, sage and onion, um sage and onion, onion gravy, sweet cure bacon, cheese slice, and cranberry relish. That was two years ago. So, let's have a look. Two years later. There it is. I'll get a I'll get a thumbnail if I can. Yeah. So, what do we get in it? So yeah, you get it's sort of like the chicken is it's like shredded chicken. I'll open it right up for you and I'll show you. It's like shredded chicken. You get cranberry. H you get the gravy. Uh is there any stuffing in there? I can smell it. I definitely can smell sage and onion stuffing. And you get that sort of waffer thin bacon. There it is. been cooked on a radiator, a lukewarm radiator at that. But it is warm. It is hot. It is exactly what it, you know, it's it's saying. So yeah, the getting little, aren't they? So like, you know, it's it's just it's it's long. It's probably what 10 in, 12 in, I don't know. But it's not very the girth. There's not much girth to it. It's shocking, is it? Uh anyway, I'm going to try it enough enough going on and on. I'm going to cut it in half because I'm not going to get the end bit. Put that there and I'll I'll I'll try that. So, it's like a soft bit bit soft, a bit crunchy, but yeah. That cranberry is very sweet. It is very, very sweet. There's nothing to it though, is there? There is nothing to it. The stuffing is mixed in with the chicken. I think it's chicken. I didn't have a look. I'm just eyeballing it like I didn't look beforehand to have a look to see what was in it. there. Yeah, it's got like a stuffing sort of chicken mixed together. It's quite nice. I mean, I think there was cheese in it last time. No cheese in it this time. Yeah, cheese slice. No cheese. That's what's missing. Um, and cheese. Does cheese belong in a sort of Christmas baguette? Cheese. I mean, does make everything taste good, doesn't it? Cheese. But I don't think it belongs in a festive baguette. So, or a Christmas baguette. Call it what you like. So, I think they've done the right move there to keep the old cheese off. I can't taste the bacon. I can't taste the bacon. I can taste the stuffing. That's very strong. Very strong flavor mixed in with the chicken. Like I say, it's shredded chicken. Um, it is quite easy to eat. It's but the baguette my only I would say my only sort of criticism was it's it's overpriced and the baguette's just lacking in sort of girth if you know what I mean. There's plenty of length there but the girth it's lacking in. Yeah, that's that's it. Look, that's how sort of fat it is. I'll finish this. I took far too much then. Yeah, there it is inside. Oh, dropping it everywhere. I will have to get a tray one. I will I will have to get one. I'll put that there. It's all right. Car is clean. I do clean it regularly. Well, would you say once in a blue moon? He's regular. But I got servette. Didn't have to ask for him. So that's good. It's all right. I'm going to finish it all. I'm going to see if I can should have put more bacon in. Oh, is that Oh, there is cheese. Sorry. I stand corrected. There is cheese. Or is it? Is that cheese? Let's have a look. Let's have a look. Is that cheese on the slight on the bacon? I think it is. Yeah, that's lost. Completely lost. All I'm getting is the stuffing flavor. I do like stuffing. Not too dry neither. That cranberry sauce is is helping it go down. Yeah. So, I got that. I I don't know if you can get a meal. I wasn't asked did you want to get a meal. I I just got the sort of I got this. Um I think last time I got a coffee and it was pound 170. That was two years ago. The first time, well, it's the second time I've been to Greg's drive-thru. The first time was a failure. That was two years ago. I've not been back. So, this is properly Well, it's the second time, but it's the first time, if you know what I mean. I've actually got some food and I'm reviewing it late. It's We're in December now, so it's the right time to review it, isn't it? I think I did it last time, the beginning of November when it first came out. I think that was the reason why I couldn't get hold of it because they hadn't stopped it. I'll have to look back at the video. So, thanks for watching. I do appreciate it. There's a boos as well as well. Might have goat boos. Those is good. I think I don't think you get them down south. Booze. And it's like Waitros, isn't it? You don't get Waitroses here.
