Let's see if we can stay there. Keep the pressure on. Cazauta continuing to be the target.
Lucille Gicquel is far too good a player to keep Vietnam with their noses in front here early in
this first set. It's a pretty comfortable take talking about back row attacks. They've certainly
got ambitions. Some of the players they're signing in the offseason. Back set. Oh lovely pick up there
and she can turn defense into offense very effectively. Amelie Rotar here and then look
how high she is getting a one-on-one against Dinh Tri Tak Yang. Let's see what she comes up with
this time. Sent it really soft and short. This time a bit deeper. Cazauta is there perfectly though
and Cazauta should finish this off. Can't do it though. Runs into the block. Has another go from
off net. Denied again. Third time lucky. Well it wasn't lucky it was good but she had to work for
that Elena Cazauta. An eyebrow razor for France in general. How well Vietnam have played this opening
set. There's another one. So we're still level here at 17 all set one. Who's going to make the move?
Now France with a chance to transition here and Gicquel not holding back on that one.
Well there's one of the trins. If one trin doesn't get you the other one will.
That was Nguyen Thi Trinh powering that through down the middle.
Thuy couldn't quite control that. It's hoist and hope here from Tran Thu Linh. Should be a point
France and it's sent far side again. Nice defensive work. Dang picking that one up but again it's just
free ball France. Clever little free ball though and driving in from the back row and just unstoppable.
Elena Cazauta saying enough is enough. Now Vietnam just gotta hang in here at 2019 France.
Bauer's serve not handled particularly well but that is some swing. Is that going to be kept? Oh
brilliant. Nunez absolutely fantastic but what about that rescue? And a fifth ace brings up
oh not another no but it is still set point. This is a tough take and that's going to be rescued.
Stoilikovic will send it far side and nicely defended and this duel goes on and now powering
through with too much smoke on that one from Lucille Giquel who just took over. A 178 blocker
against a 196 hitter. Guess who won? That's not a great pass at all from Linh. That's a nice finish
though. Might have just been into the net cord anyway so no way through. Now it's a long way off
net. Now Giquel has to turn defense. So again good containing defensive work. There's nothing
doing again for Giquel. Some rally this. That little push into space is so clever.
At the net out of the equation. Lovely work from Tuohy and that's going to come straight back.
Little duel at the net. Stoilikovic can't win it. Gazouta can win it. Oh now then a first block
for Vietnam. Duante Juan. The back up opposite now in to serve. Ah Stoilikovic saying everyone
else has been having some fun. Down the line does get picked up. Oh and right straight into the block
Tuohy. Stoilikovic staying at the end line. That's not the greatest of passes. Tough take
this for Tuohy. Who's done as well as she could. Stoilikovic will send it over and a nice angle
taken on that cross court kill from Lucille Giquel. Romania bound Stoilikovic will now find an ace.
A seventh ace serve for France. Nobody home in the back row for Vietnam and France now rather
running away with this second set as Vietnam look pretty beaten down now. This has got to go
but it won't. Tuohy denied. Stoilikovic was there again. Gazouta drills it. Dang's done brilliantly
to pick it up. Tough take this for Tuohy and to take a really tight angle. Now Stoilikovic picks
herself up. Goes back set. Lucille Giquel finishes the job and France are just now cruising. It did
take a touch. Here's the ruling. I think one of the French players put their hand up on that one.
It's just delaying the inevitable. Now Stoilikovic can send it wherever she wants.
Rotar can't get a winner though and Tuohy will maintain a bit of Vietnamese resistance here.
But this surely is going to be the moment. Stoilikovic. No again. Good containing block.
I know that's nicely picked up as well. Stoilikovic will send it over to Rotar. Rotar's
denied again by Dang who's been absolutely brilliant. Tuohy with the bump set. Nice pick
up from Giardino from the libero position and that's a bit of a stretch. France will keep
possession and keep momentum and beautifully found by Lucille Giquel. Dropped it on the line.
Coach Rousseau's squad. Trinh will continue to work on her service game. That's a lovely back
set and that again the good players don't miss them back to back. As it is it's Giquel who will
take it and find yet another race. Oh what a difference this has been. The ninth for France.
Her first. Tried the same down the line. That didn't work so well but there's a good containing
block there from Casauta and that's a lovely clever little dink. Once again feeling that they
can still make this third set competitive. That's a decent serve as well. Nicely picked up. Really
good pick up. Continues to Casauta. It was on that occasion but Giquel and Casauta just continue
to pour on the pain and there's another one. There's another one. A third ace for Casauta.
Credit her with Vietnam's second block of this match. France only have two themselves.
Now there's a chance here. Oh is that? No it's a ball just had a horrible trajectory from the
Vietnam perspective but it does stay alive until the cross-court kill is just perfect from Lucille
Giquel again. Match here in a three-setter. That's Christina Bauer will now go to work at 15-11.
Nice quick set. Silves doing really well defensively. Rotar off the block. Nicely contained.
Not containing that. Not much he can do now except take this as a hugely valuable
learning experience. Nothing doing for Tuohy who runs into the containing block
and now France will look to transition but no it's free ball Vietnam. No play there available
for Casauta but the block is there from Bauer who sends that back and France. Three for Giquel.
Three for Casauta. Could there be another one here to finish it off? No it's going to be a chance
though for France to transition. Casauta. That'll do it. That'll do it. It was a game they were expected to win.
