Okay, hello everybody. Good morning. Welcome to my car. We're heading out today.
I'm wanting to do more videos where we get out and about
just a little bit because, I don't know, it mixes things up.
It's fun for me. Hopefully it's fun for you as well to watch.
Also, I just realized I didn't put any of my rings on this morning. Whoops.
So this is kind of going to be a run my errands video. I thought that we could
just hang out because I have some things that I need to do today.
Let me grab my list out. It's also a very rainy,
gloomy day today. Okay, so I have to pick up
some crafting supplies because I'm going to be making some Christmas
decorations for a Patreon video that I'm working on.
So I need some craft scissors because the scissors I have are just
shite. So I want some new craft scissors. I need to get some construction paper.
I'm thinking I was going to go to Michael's for that but it's probably
cheaper at Walmart, honestly, so I might stop there for that.
In the vicinity of where I'm heading, there's GardenWorks, so I figured that we
could pop into the nursery just to see if there's
anything fun and interesting out right now because I haven't been there in a
long time. So I thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to pop in.
And then I need some paint supplies because I am currently in the midst of
painting our bathroom. Can y'all believe it? I'm finally
painting the house! Oh my goodness, it has been a long time
coming. I'm obviously starting small with the bathroom. I still haven't decided
on the color for the main space, which is actually another one of my errands. I
need to pick up a color sample. I don't even know what
yet. I have to go in there and look, but I know that I want to. I'm just not
100% decided. I've already swatched a couple colors on the wall. The walls are
starting to look crazy with paint swatches everywhere,
but I'm just not 100% sold on either of them.
So I'm going to be grabbing a different color to swatch out and to see what I
think of. And then I also want to get, oh, mini
rollers. I didn't even write that down. Shoot, I don't have a pen. Well, hopefully
I'll remember that because I've just been working in some
really tight spaces in the bathroom, so I thought that that would maybe be
helpful. So mini rollers. I also wanted to get one
of those edging tools. I've heard mixed things as to whether they're good or not,
but it turns out that I'm awful at edging,
or at least, I mean, this is literally my first time, so maybe I'll get better with
time, but it just seems really hard to me. So I was going to
try out one of those little tools that you just like slide
along the edge. And then what else do I need? Oh my gosh,
I've left the house and I haven't even finished writing my list. I thought that
I was done. Well, hopefully I remember these things.
I need to stop at the post office because I think that,
well, I know there's a package there for me and I think that it might be
related, so I figured that we would stop and grab that to see what it is.
I have a few groceries I need to get and then
I guess that's it. So I hope that that sounds good to you. I think I'm gonna
listen to my audiobook while we're driving. I am currently
listening to When the Wolf Comes Home by Nat Cassidy and it's really good. I have
about 20 something percent left and I really
want to finish it today. I'm going between reading my physical
book and reading the audio copy in between
when I can't sit down and read my physical book.
So that's probably what I'm going to listen to as I drive.
And other than that, I think that that is it for the agenda. So let's go.
Okay, first stop is Walmart for craft scissors and construction paper.
Okay, I made it out with my scissors and my construction paper.
There was no construction paper out there and there was a lady there, so I
was like, do you have any just like colorful
construction paper? And she was looking everywhere. She was
like, it's sold out! And I was like, oh my gosh, because everyone's making these
freaking paper chain garlands right now, which is
exactly what I want to do with it too. And then she scanned it and she was
like, oh we have some boxes in the back. So I felt so bad. She was like looking
everywhere and then she had to go all the way to the back and da da da.
And then I was standing there and I was like, wait, I don't even know, like, I
thought there would be some different like color schemes for me to choose from.
But she was already gone to get it, so I was like, whatever, I'm just gonna
grab this construction paper that she comes out with. But I think that it's
fine. I think I'll be able to make a cute color combo out of that.
Hopefully this is enough. I have no idea how many papers it's going to take.
And I also don't know if I have a stapler. I hope, I think that I do
downstairs, so I didn't want to buy one. I totally forgot to check before I left.
But hopefully I have that or else I'm gonna have to come out again and find a stapler.
But now I think I'm gonna head to GardenWorks because that is just, just across the way
and see what plants they have and then after that we'll head to Home Depot.
Okay, it started pouring out, but perfect timing because we are heading into the cozy
and tropical oasis of the garden center. And of course it was decorated all festive,
which was very cute. I went inside and was greeted by a table of poinsettias,
which I've never purchased before, but they are pretty to look at. Like,
look at how dark and velvety these are. There's even some variegated ones.
And of course a cute little Norfolk pine. I really want one of these,
but I just don't have space to be growing a whole freaking tree in my house.
Also, sis's discolor was very tempting to me. I remember those being so popular when I was first
getting into plants, but I've never had one before. They are absolutely stunning though,
so let me know if you have one. I always have to check the Calathea section for a Warshawixii,
but I did not see one. There were a lot of cute Marantas though. And then on the other side were
the anthuriums. And y'all, I am always just shook at what is available in the nurseries these days.
You can get a beautiful, stunning anthurium for less than $20. I feel like that makes the point
of entry to anthurium so accessible. Like, if your investment is less than $20, then why not
just try one out? You know what I'm saying? And then, of course, the orchid table is always
calling to me. And they had these cute smaller ones. I don't know what type. They were just
labeled as Phalaenopsis, I think, but so pretty. And these orange ones, they look like flames
coming out or something. They were massive too, like these flower stalks. But yeah, I am always
tempted by the Phalaenopsis, but they're pretty expensive here. And these big ones, oh my goodness.
Like, look at the size of even the buds. They're massive. I absolutely love them,
and I'm always staring at them every time I come here. I spotted this Growlite from Mossify,
which I thought looked really nice. I've never tried it before, but it is really cute and sleek
looking. I wonder if it comes in black as well. Some Hoya Crimson Queen, of course, have to come
and take a look at them. This one was so nice. It had a ton of variegation on it. Really pretty.
And they actually had multiple sizes of Burrow's Tail, which I was really impressed with.
And this cute little Ripsalis, I think? I'm assuming? I don't know. I'm kind of drawn to
these, like, funky looking Ripsalis lately. I don't have one, but they are really cool looking.
And then this Euphorbia with the cute little flower coming out. They do have a pretty good
little cactus section here, I think. Like, there's different ones. Like, they have the spiral ones,
they have some fuzzy ones. I really liked this super round, geometric looking one.
And then, of course, I had to head over to the Alocasia. I think this is a
Nebula or something like that. I've never had it before, but it is really silver and pretty.
I was so shocked at the size of the Amazonica up there. It just looks so healthy and dark and
happy. I kind of want to bring one into my collection again, but it's just space. It's
just space and time. And then I went over to the Fern Table, my brethren, and my eye was caught by
this cute little round one. I guess it's a Button Fern, which I've never had before. Don't know
about the care, I'm assuming they're thirsty though, but they were so pretty and dainty
looking. I used to have a maiden hair when I was first getting into plants, and I loved that one,
but it was just so hard to keep up with the watering. They had a surprisingly good begonia
section here as well. Some funky ones. They even had, these were labeled as ferrics, but I think
that they're Milano Bellata because they have the hairs coming out from the little, um, bumps.
And $27, they used to be $100 at this store, like two years ago. So just, so they've come down in
price like crazy. These dark ones, I used to have one, but it croaked. And then they had these
labeled as Maculata, but I don't think that Maculata has the silver around the edge, so
I don't know, something similar, but they looked really pretty. And then they have some carnivorous
plants. I think that these are from Brad's Greenhouse, which is where I typically order
from, or maybe they're not, I don't know, I'm not sure. They usually have carnivorous plants from
Brad's Greenhouse though, and I always just like to take a little peek and see what they have in
stock. And then I saw this table of ties, and again, I'm still, like, I know that ties have
been accessible for a while now, but I still just can't believe it when I see a whole bunch of them
here for, what was this, like $27 or $32. Like, that is just crazy to me when they used to cost
hundreds of dollars, but it's great. People can come and grab these and have a stunning
tie constellation. There's a lot of other random pothos and some trailing philodendron in this
section as well. They looked just okay. I wasn't really blown away by the state of these plants.
I was really surprised to see the shangri-la or whatever this one is, the, like, spinach pothos,
because I feel like this is a collector plant. I don't know what, like, average person is walking
into this garden center and buying this crumpled looking pothos. Like, I don't even want it, you
know? It's just, it's a little too weird for even me, so I don't know. Beautiful, well, actually they
look a little sad, but they're philodendron tortum, which is cool. Again, a plant that used to be
hundreds of dollars and you could only find it at certain online plant shops now are in the
nursery. Ring of fire, we had some pink princess, some micans, which were looking a little worse for
wear, and then of course I always like to look at the pots. This cute little teal one is so pretty.
I don't know why I didn't end up grabbing that, honestly. I should have bought it, but I didn't,
and I like how they have the accessories section here. I always like to check out the trellises
and just any fun little houseplant gadgets or accessories that might be available. I was
curious about the clearance rack, so I came over here and this aglaonema caught my eye. It's so
pretty and minty looking. I don't know what type it is, but it's absolutely gorgeous. They also
had some thanksgiving cactus on here, some alocasia, and they honestly didn't look too bad.
You would definitely want to be pest treating, but not bad at all. And then there was this crazy
plant that caught my eye, the dutchman's pipe plant, and look at the bloom that this thing puts
out. I obviously have nowhere to put this, but it looks so cool, so yeah, that was neat to see.
I thought that this was a really sleek looking terrarium type of thing. I would want to order
a lid for it, which the one I have might even fit, but I really like the shape of it. I thought that
it looked pretty cool. And then this ficus really caught my eye. I had never seen this before, I
don't know why, but the green was so deep, and then in contrast with the variegation, it just
looks so stunning. Ficus aspera? Aspera? I don't know. I was tempted by her though, but then I
googled it and saw that of course they turn into a big tree, so definitely don't have the space for
it. And I always like to check out the air plant selection here because there's so many of them.
The ones on crystals looked so pretty. They also have some in shells and stuff like that, and
displayed in interesting ways. I know that I want to find a cool way to display them, and I was
tempted by this big chonky one, but yeah, I just don't know. I need to put some thought into how I want to style
them because I don't want to buy more and then just have them sitting around, you know? So yeah, this
pink one was so cute as well, like look at how vibrant the tips are. So I spent some time just
checking each of these out. This one looked kind of fuzzy, so I was very curious about it.
This is the Dr. Doom thrip spray that I used when I had thrips, and it worked super well. So if you're
in Canada, you can also find this at Canadian Tire, I think, and it's probably a lot cheaper there.
I was going to stock up on my Endol Midaside, but then I saw the price, which was insane, $30.
That was so nice and relaxing. The vibes were very correct. There was like nobody in there,
and the people that were working there were just so nice and chill and just left me alone,
which I really appreciate. And yeah, I just got to browse through all of the plants. There was
some nice relaxing Christmas music playing. It's just so different going there in the winter
compared to the summer, obviously. I feel like I don't usually go in there in the winter, but
that's when all of the good houseplants are out, it seems, because in the summer I feel like they're
so focused on outdoor plants. But yeah, it was just so nice. I'm always so interested to see
what plants are out, and I'm always shocked because it's just such a different landscape
than it was when I was first getting into the hobby. I would have been shook to see these plants
just out in my local garden center. So yeah, it's so cool to see all of them. There's so many good
ones. And I was very tempted by many things. The orchids, absolutely stunning. The air plants,
so cool. I just want to figure out how I want to style them or display them before I buy a bunch,
so I held off. And by the time I was finished looking at the plants, I was like, okay,
well maybe I'll look at practical things. I really loved that gold trellis that I showed,
but I just couldn't think of what I was going to use it on. So since I didn't have an immediate
use for it, I was like, I'm going to hold off. And then I was looking at the pesticide stuff,
as you saw, very exciting. But I was like, oh my gosh, I should get some of the safers and do a
round of that on my plants because I don't like to, I like to kind of rotate what I'm using,
and I feel like the safers miticide works really well for flat mites. And I think it's also supposed
to be effective for melees. So every once in a while, I like to do a round of that. But then I
saw the price tag and it was $30. And I was like, what the heck? I swear it's not that expensive
when I just get it at the hardware store. And I looked and sure enough, it's only $18 to buy it at
the hardware store. So crazy markup, but yeah, I'm glad that I looked and didn't buy it there.
But yeah, that was just so relaxing. I kind of wish that I had a nice hot beverage, but it was
also nice to just have my hands free. So now I am going to head to Home Depot, which is very close
to here as well. And where's my list? Oh yeah, I think it's in my pocket. Oh my gosh, did I lose my
list? No, here it is. Okay, so we went to Gardenworks. I got craft scissors, construction
paper, paint edger. I need to remember the mini roller, the paint sample, and then just groceries
and Canada Post. Okay. Okay, so I decided that I was going to skip choosing out paint colors and
samples today because I was running short on time. So I stopped at Rona to grab the things that I
needed, and I was hoping to get the Safer stuff here too, but they were out of stock at this
location. Of course, I had to check out the plants. They had some of the Costa Farms,
Thai Constellation, and that really pretty Silver Syndapsis, which looked stunning, honestly.
But there wasn't really much else other than that. These things that I see other people
grow, the Xanthosoma, whatever the heck it is, they look cool, but I'm not really interested
in them. They had this section of Cactus and Succulents, and some of these cactus actually
looked pretty neat, and I was tempted by this really like silvery looking one, and then there
was a Blue Torch, which looked so pretty. Like, the blue color to it is just stunning. I am always
tempted by plants that have a blue kind of sheen to them, but ultimately I decided to leave them
there and be good and not buy any plants today. I was very sad for this clearance section because
they just looked so bad. So I walked down to find the paint section. I don't come to this store very
often. It used to be a Lowe's, and now they changed it into a Rona, which is basically the same thing.
I was trying to choose between the 4 and 6 inch. I ended up going with the 4, and then I grabbed
my paint edging tool, which actually worked really well, honestly. Definitely recommend.
Okay, I thought that they would have the Safer's Midaside stuff, but they're all sold out, so
I mean, there's another Rona, but I don't need it today, so I am going to
start heading back home because I'm getting hungry, so I need to wrap my errands up. That's why I
didn't want to wait for the paint sample. I just decided to stop here on my way back.
Got the mini roller, got the paint edger, and now I'm gonna go to- I need to go to London Drugs to
pick up my package, and there's a grocery store near there, so I'll be able to just make one last
stop for both of those things, which is grand, and hopefully I will get around to painting my
bathroom tonight. I don't know if I will or not, though, to be honest, because what else did I want
to do? Oh yeah, I want to work on my Patreon video tonight, my Christmas decorating one, so
I'll be doing one of those two things. I don't know what, though. Anywho, I will see y'all at the next
for dinner tonight. I got sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, and butter beans slash lima beans.
Apparently butter beans are lima beans here. I don't know, but I keep seeing recipes with butter
beans, and I couldn't find butter beans anywhere. I'm like, what the heck are these? And then I
So I'm gonna be making a dish with that tonight. If you are interested in seeing what I cook,
go check out the vlog channel. It's always linked down below. I do a lot of- oh no,
this heater always hits the mic.
Yeah, I do a lot of just like daily life stuff on the vlog channel. What I'm reading, what I'm
cooking, what I'm loving. I share some outdoor garden stuff on there as well.
So I'd love to have you over on that channel as well, but I thought to end off this video,
we could open this package because this is from Tropics Narcotics, my favorite
planty clothing brand. I wear their stuff literally all the time. I think that this is my
favorite piece right now, and they had told me that they were sending a few things my way,
so I had a feeling that that's what this package was going to be,
and I'm so excited that it is so that I can show y'all what I got.
I see a sweater. I see a hoodie. Oh my gosh, I see two. I am so excited.
Okay, the first thing, oh cute. Oh my goodness, alocasia.
Oh, and their stuff feels so high quality too. Like it really is nicely made. Oh, this is
stunning. Are you joking me? Okay, you're not prepared for the back.
What the heck? This is so pretty. This is gonna be a new fave. I really, really love this. The
chartreuse green around the lettering, that is so up my alley, and I've really been in an
alocasia mood. Y'all will see in a video that I'm working on, but yeah, I've really been into
alocasia lately, so this is so perfectly timed, and then of course the design on the sleeves. I
love how they do that. It's so cute. The colors on this are just so good. The purples and the like
teal green and then the chartreuse green is so pretty. Like are you kidding me? They are always
blowing me away. Every time I get to try a new piece from them, I become obsessed. Like this is
so cute, and it feels so nice and cozy. This is perfect for me to wear all winter long, so absolutely
love that. Wow, thank you so much Tropic Narcotics. What the heck? Their stuff just keeps getting
better and better. I do have a discount code as well. I get asked all the time in videos where I
got whatever shirt I'm wearing, and it's always from Tropics Narcotics, so I think my discount
code with them is, I think it's just Wild Fern honestly, but I'll put it on the screen and in
the description to be sure. Oh my gosh, it's another. It's another hoodie you guys, and look at the color.
This is so pretty. What does it say?
Syngonium, cute. Maybe this will manifest my Syngonium Chia Pants Variegated to live.
This is so pretty. I absolutely love this color. Oh my gosh, you guys. I feel like this color looks
good on me. Is it just me? I don't know. I feel like these like light cool tones. Yeah, this is so
pretty. Again, gorgeous design on the back. This one is like monochromatic, I guess, like it's all
just like white with this beautiful light background. It's stunning as per usual. Oh my gosh,
I feel so spoiled. This is so nice, and the sleeve detailing on both sleeves obviously, but just to
show you, let me, there we go, just to show you what it looks like. So pretty. I love the attention
to detail, like with the little sparkles around this. That's so cute. I'm gonna be wearing this
non-stop as well. I love the color. It's just gorgeous. Oh my gosh, this is so nice. So, so nice.
What the heck? Oh, this is so cool. Okay, there's a couple t-shirts in here, it looks like. Wait, what
is this? What is this? I've never received like a small thing like that before. Okay, oh, this looks
so, and there's red again. I'm obsessed with red. This shirt made me obsessed with the color red
right now. I just ordered a new planner for my channel specifically, for like my content planning
and stuff, and you could choose the colors of the planner and then the elastic band around it.
I did red on red because, I don't know, I'm just obsessed with red right now, I guess.
So this is so freaking cool. Staghorn fern? Like, are you joking? Does it say platycerium or whatever?
I think it does. That is so cool. What the heck? And I love how this one has a bit of a like, um,
not distressed, like a washed, um, color to the shirt. Oh, this is just so cool.
Absolutely gorgeous. Shane's gonna like this one, I already know. He loves these clothes too.
Um, when I got home, he's like, what's that? And I was like, Tropic's Narcotics Package. He was like,
oh, what? That's awesome. Um, and then the back is, is it the same front and back? Yeah, the back
is the same. So that's kind of cool. You get the design on both sides, which is perfect if you're
wearing a sweater or a jacket or something that you can still see on the front. Um, it's nice
when there's at least something on the front of shirts, I feel. And then the last one is, oh,
and then very little green witch teeth. So cute. Ooh, I actually really like this, um,
leaf design on the back. That looks so cool. And again, we have a bit of a washed, um,
material. So it just looks so nice and cozy. I cannot wait to live in these. So cute.
And then let's find out what's in here. What is that? Is it stickers? Feels like pins.
Just wait. Oh my gosh. There's more in here. Oh, these are so cute.
Oh my gosh. These are really pretty pins. Wow. Look how gorgeous that is.
I've actually been getting into pins lately because I have this little canvas backpack
that I thrifted over the summertime, and I want to put a bunch of pins on that. I have a few so
far, but these are absolutely perfect. There is an alacasia. Gorgeous. This monstera is so nice.
Looks like a burly marks flame. So pretty with the like metal look to it. Yeah, that's gorgeous.
Oh, this is king of spades. Oh my gosh. One of my favorite in theory, um, alacasia longa loba
and the platycerium wilinkia staghorn fern. That is so cool as a pin. I've never seen that before.
Really pretty colors as well. How cute. And then there's a little tropics narcotics pin
with their logo. So cute. And we have some stickers. Whoa, this silver sword one.
It's like shiny. That is so cool. And we have a calacasia sticker. I have this on a shirt.
Stunning. This is begonia listada, which I also have on a shirt. It's my pink
begonia listada shirt that I wear all the time because I love the color of it. This is also
shiny and really cool. I feel like I have this on a shirt, the chlorophyll or chlorophyllia
shirt that I have. So cute. I love these. I love everything. Christmas has come early over here,
you guys. Oh, and the little sun. So cutie. Love that. All right, I feel spoiled rotten.
That was so nice of them to send over, especially the hoodies. I feel like I need more hoodies.
Anywho, thank you so much for hanging out with me today. I really appreciate it,
especially if you watched to the end of this video. I hope that you enjoyed running my little
errands with me and checking out the garden center. Like I said, I want to start sprinkling
in more videos where I'm out of the house. So I really hope that you enjoyed. Leave me a comment
down below. I would love to hear from you and I will see you in the next one. Bye.
