Alex, you made it to the end of the season, your best really for Williams, the performance you've delivered all year round.
How are you feeling about this final race in the context of a great start, difficult end, one more race to show what you've got?
I mean, ups and downs for sure. I think globally very positive, as you said, best year yet.
I think most importantly for the team, fifth in the constructors sealed as well, so going into this weekend is a little bit more relaxed.
I guess it's a nice feeling to wrap up the midfield championship early, let's say it like that.
And then just want to end this weekend in a good way. I feel like it's just for whatever reason, just like how it was for Carlos at the beginning of the year, it's just not been smooth at all.
So we will focus on that, focus on our execution and we've still got good pace, it's just substantially been frustrating.
So let's hope for a good end. It makes the winter break a bit easier and a bit nicer. So that's about it.
Many congratulations to you and Carlos and the team for closing out P5 in the constructors.
Do you look at it in the sense that you're kind of the guy working in the mine, digging points every weekend,
and then Carlos is the ballerina who comes along and scores two podiums and takes all the shine?
No, I feel like I still had an amazing year for most of it, been really happy with it.
As you said, it feels like it's not been overnight. It's been four years in the making, more or less, this fifth.
And it's showing the signs of us becoming a top team. So there's still many more years ahead of us.
I think the gap between P10 to P5 is smaller than the gap between P5 to P1 in terms of a performance and where we want to be.
But very, very proud of the team, proud of myself and ready for next year.
Alex, you say it's a little bit of a frustrating year, a little bit up and down.
But if you have to pinpoint your highest moment, something we may not have seen from behind the scenes,
the thing you're most proud of, what would it be?
Oh, tough one. I would say the first race of the year, generally speaking.
It's kind of a bit obvious in many ways, but that was my best result for the team since my time and it happened on race one.
It was a surprise to all of us going into the first race of the year.
And it just seems to have created this amazing start to the season.
So I remember finishing, I think it was P4 on track at the time, thinking, well, this is never going to happen again.
And then in the end, it happened a few more times.
