Original EarthRoamer Design by Bill Swails – Tour the Expedition Rig That Started It All

So this is the OG Earthroamer. This is the first one Bill made when he decided he wanted a camper that would not fall apart on trail. So let me show you what this actually looks like inside. All right, so this is the original camper. This is what started Earthroamer and as you can see it's a huge difference from where they started to where they are today. So the ceiling height is quite a bit lower. I'm about six four and I'm ducking but it's so cool to see where they started. So on the inside you have these copper countertops and then you have the same kind of cabinets but with different pole handles and then you have this fridge which is up here. It's just honestly so cool with this like vinyl design on the side. You have magnetic spice rack. You have a one burner induction stove with windows and then of course you still have to have a sink. So there is this nice sink on the side here. On this side you have this bench for seating but again you have these cabinets right here but everything is still the wood. Nothing's covered on this one. These cushions it's just it's so raw and so cool to see again where the vision started for this company and then you have a nice big bed. So same concept where it sits over the cab and the mattress sits right here on top and it's nice and thick and then you have the skylight right here on the top and then the front two windows. So again resembling the new Earthroamers but back when they first started. Then you have the same cab pass through. All right let's try to get in the bed. Let's see how I fit. I fit barely. It's a little tight here vertically but I do fit more or less. Since we're at Earthroamer picking up our truck, new to us truck, it's just so cool to be able to see this in person finally after seeing photos online and seeing all the other models and configurations. It's just a really great experience.
