Here's Kasperai, chance maybe to get a third.
Lauren Hemp is screaming for it on the far side.
Here is Hemp, chance to open up.
Gets the shot away!
What a goal from Lauren Hemp!
Superb hit from the England star.
Manchester City 3, Manchester United 0.
Well, it's always a huge fixture in the Women's Super League calendar.
Derby day here in Manchester.
And what a chance for Andre Jägler's side to strengthen their position.
At the top of the table, open up a seven-point gap over today's visitors.
And say to the rest of the league, catch us if you can.
Seven wins coming into this game, top of the league.
But I'd imagine the message stays the same.
It's always the same, that no matter how many wins we have,
that the next game is always the most important one.
And that's where we are today.
So we need to put a great performance to be able to get the three points today.
We have been able to find a way to win.
That confidence we need to bring out in the game today.
Because you know we can do that.
What's a key factor for us is to be able to,
those moments when we feel that maybe we're missing a pass,
or we are about to lose momentum,
that's where we need to be a little bit more consistent.
And that's where we need each other.
It's going to be loud, it's difficult to communicate,
but we need a high five.
We need a small chat.
We need encouragement.
Because when we do that, we will go out of those moments
where we are a little bit out of losing control,
but that's when we are getting back.
Again, as quickly, and let's go back to the game plan.
We know what we're going to do.
We know how we are defending.
We know how we are attacking.
As long as we're following that, it's going to be great.
So when we are out, about to lose it a little bit,
look into each other's eyes,
encourage each other and go back.
And the last thing, enjoy the game.
Wow, what a fantastic opportunity to show yourself,
show the people that is coming to watch the game
what a great team we are.
So let's make sure that we get a great performance and a win.
Okay?
Eight seconds.
A mentality shift.
We've seen from Andrei Yeglets
this new, expansive, high-pressing, energetic style.
But certainly the wins,
well certainly against Everton and against West Ham,
also prove that they don't mind getting their socks dirty as well
and they can dig these results out.
So we are underway at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City will play from left to right.
This is a good run from Miedema who puts the shoulder in,
has options, might go it alone,
does get the touch away.
Miedema, fresh from her 90th goal in Women's Super League last weekend.
Lauren Hempett will be with the corner.
Bunyuso will get the initial climb, headed back across.
And Kanak has got the goal, she's done it again.
Manchester City in front on 25 minutes.
Lovely ball, weighted up from Lauren Hemp.
Bunyuso with the header back across.
And Rebecca Kanak, the German has put Andrei Yeglets side ahead.
Jade Rose again, under no pressure from Elizabeth Turland,
so can move forward.
It keeps going, the young centre-back.
Kasperai asking for it,
Bunyuso in the middle.
Here is Kasperai, first time ball in.
Bunyuso with a chance!
And Manchester City double their advantage.
What a time to score on 42 minutes.
Bunyuso moves on to six in the lead.
And suddenly daylight in the derby.
Here's Kasperai, chance maybe to get a third.
Here is Hemp, chance to open up.
Gets the shot away!
What a goal from Lauren Hemp!
Superb hit from the England star,
back from injury against Everton last week.
And goodness me, she has marked a return to the starting 11
with a wonder strike into first half stoppage time.
Manchester City 3, Manchester United 0.
A big second half to come, but so far the derby spoils going City's way.
Goals from Rebecca Kanak on 26, Bunyuso on 43.
And Lauren Hemp in first half stoppage time.
Half time, Manchester City 3, Manchester United 0.
Tony, where do we begin?
What a half of football for Manchester City.
Almost perfect, if I'm being honest.
From a Manchester derby, that's exactly what you want from your team as a fan.
That's what you want to see your players doing, you know,
competing and them three goals.
All amazing for different reasons,
but incredible performance by the girls.
And we are underway at the Etihad.
Leah Goulton with the header on,
Melvin Mallard making a nuisance of himself.
Last touch came off the front striker, so it will be a goal kick.
And there's plenty of high fives between Kanak and Kash Bry, they do well.
So there is a little bit of work to do for Bunyuso, does well,
has done the hard part, gets the shot away.
But it's over the upright.
The Lionesses star gets the best part of, what, 70 plus minutes in her legs
as she continues her recovery.
And she's got the pick of the three goals so far this afternoon.
So Lauren Hemp will be going off to be replaced by Imane Benet.
It's Iotti coming on to the ball and Miedema, goodness me, had to get that right.
And she did on a lovely through ball for Bunyuso, who is in.
Black stays down, chance for Bunyuso.
And it can't be too much left now, you suspect.
And the referee blows for full time.
And City claim derby bragging rights, a resounding 3-0 victory today.
Which sees their move four points clear of the six-time defending champions, Chelsea,
having played a game more.
And seven points clear of today's visitors and local rivals, Manchester United.
I mean, we're ecstatic.
I mean, to get three big points at home to secure the top of the league
and to do it against United, it can't get any sweeter than that.
Yeah, and it made a Manchester derby for yourself.
How does that feel?
It feels incredible.
I think, like I was asked earlier this week, like,
what does it mean to you to be able to play in a derby?
And it's a difficult question because I'm not from Manchester.
But being here and seeing the fans and seeing how many people showed up for us
and seeing what it means to them, that shows me how much it means to the city.
And I'm so happy that we were able to get the win for city.
