The final day of the 2025 season saved some of its biggest moments for the very end.
Oh, look at Aaron's leg! He's holding the windscreen in.
Yeah, he's holding the windscreen in with his foot.
Let's have a look at what happened, Chenny.
Suspension damage here, into the sandbank, onto the rocks.
There's the roll, over it goes.
Lucky that landed on its wheels.
The drama in Saudi Arabia started before it even began,
with the rally leader, Adrian Fulmo, receiving a penalty
for checking in early to the overnight technical zone,
dropping him to fourth on the leaderboard.
That handed Martin Cesc the lead, set fair for his maiden WRC win, but it didn't last long.
Sensing their opportunity to end a year-long winless streak,
reigning world champions Thierry Neuville and co-driver Martin Wiedegger
overhauled their 3.4 second deficit to claim the top spot.
And any hopes of a dream end to the season for Cesc and M Sport Ford
were dashed on the penultimate stage.
It's a stop to change a wheel.
So frustrating for Martin Cesc.
They've got the job done.
Look, he's not even rushing to get back in that car.
He knows the situation.
Title contenders Elnett Evans, Seb Ogier and Kalle Rovenpera
were all in the hunt for maximum Super Sunday points.
But Rovenpera's slim chances of a third title went up in smoke on stage 60.
So it all came down to the final Wolf Power Stage.
Eutanik's fairytale send-off before the sabbatical in 2026 wasn't meant to be.
But the Estonian had more important matters on his mind.
I'm obviously the most grateful for my family for allowing me to chase my dream for so long.
Without ever being even in my single daughter's birthday.
So I'm very grateful for them.
And emotions were running high for Rovenpera's co-driver Jan Naho
as he marked the crew's time card for the final time.
Kalle, Jan, it has been a great journey with you guys in the past years.
And on behalf of the entire team, thank you.
Elnett Evans had nothing to lose and delivered a do-or-die run.
Are we going to see...
Oh, right on the door handles.
Again, using that rut.
The rut just stopping the car instantly.
Pitching it up into the air.
It's going to be close.
Could it even be sub 11?
He is.
10.54.9.
That's almost two seconds quicker.
Now all he could do was watch and wait as Ogier began his final bid to make history.
He heads up the hill now for the final time.
And now he heads back down.
He's got this right-hander to contend with.
A tricky braking zone into a very, very heavily rutted left-hander.
Look how carefully he's approached that.
Piquet is ticking down.
Got to be under eight seconds.
If it is, he's done it.
He's done it.
He is the world champion for a ninth time.
He's secured it by eight tenths of a second.
He may not have needed to do it in there, but he's done it anyway.
Of course he did.
What a season, that's for sure.
What a fight with Helfin and Scott, honestly.
There is only a great champion when you have great opponents.
And they've been super strong, pushing us to the limit up to the very last stage of the year.
So well done to you guys anyway.
To the whole Toyota Gazer Racing team.
It's been such a successful season.
And I'm proud and very happy to be part of this family.
As one king was crowned, another took the spoils.
Nerville leaving it until the very last event of 2025 to break his winless streak.
Thierry Nouveau on his way to victory.
Yeah, here we go then.
It's also been a tough rally and season for Hyundai.
But he's done it.
It's a 22nd victory for Thierry Nouveau.
So Nerville wins Rally Saudi Arabia ahead of teammate Formo,
with Ogier securing the title from third.
Sami Piari misses out on a second WRC podium in fourth,
while Katsuda completes the top five.
And Ogier claims a record equaling ninth world title at the end of a chaotic event
and breathtaking season at the pinnacle of world motorsport.
