Last one.
So straight away, Im Jong-hun is a left-hander
as the exception to the right-handed rule.
Wow, two great receives by Alexi to start this match out.
It was a nice reaction there from another quality receive.
Two, one.
The stop block, John, we're gonna look at it again.
Watch the stop block right here by Alexi.
That's what wins the point, creative play.
Memory's still fresh, of course,
of the mixed doubles action,
and we saw Im Jong-hun in action in that.
One thing to look out for, Jimmy,
is that Im is a very mobile player.
He gets around the table a lot,
always looking to get it on that
massive, booming forehand of his.
Case in point, jumps across very, very often,
which means that Im Jong-hun has a lot of
evasive action to take.
Peter Chung calls the left on the angle, the verticality.
Good start by the LeBruns here.
Forcing the issue early on.
Just to remind you that you can vote at
worldtabletennis.com on all the matches that are played here,
and the LeBruns might have something to say
about having the minority of the vote out of this one.
You know, it's interesting, John,
you talked about how the Korean team
has beaten them the last two times.
When I look at that, the last time.
Yeah, the LeBruns just edged it in Singapore,
but that was three-two.
Sorry, you were saying?
Well, that changes my thought process right there,
now that I know they're one and one,
so thank you for that correction.
Oh, on the ground there, Felix just lost his footing.
No harm done by the looks of things.
Another great receive, we've seen three of them
from Alexi this first game.
Watch this great receive.
That serve goes long, wasn't supposed to,
and he jumped on it.
So the great receives right now of Alexi,
one of the big reasons they have this lead.
That was sharp from the younger brother there,
flicking that backhand deep.
And missing the target again is Eun Jong-hun,
and it's three-nine, and the Koreans
just really haven't got started here.
When you're talking about Felix,
he just served that last one,
you're talking about some of the best serves in the world.
That goes long as well, and in a hurry, in a blink,
it's seven game points for the LeBrons.
Oh, that's more like it.
Im Jong-hun finds his range.
What a great look at the power of Im.
But that's that, and they scurry across.
One, love.
You know, when I watch the LeBron brothers,
I feel like I'm watching race car driving.
They play so fast during the point,
but they play faster than anyone between points.
They're so quickly running up to serve the next one.
They just move so fast.
One, love.
It's a good point you make,
and if ever you interview them,
they talk pretty fast as well.
Everything they do is lightning speed.
And they said since they've gotten to Las Vegas,
between days they like to ride roller coasters.
They have a need for speed, John.
Yeah, they certainly do.
I was talking to Felix about it,
and he said he likes getting his heart rate up
on those roller coasters.
They've also been eating well.
They've been enjoying everything that Vegas has to offer,
and that's plenty.
Oh man, the receive and then the follow.
This is incredible.
Let's start with the receive.
Look at that cut right there.
And then that happened.
I don't see anyone competing with that.
Three, two.
You can just feel the energy that's coming at you
every point from these LeBron brothers.
I am of course sitting alongside
a four-time US national champion, a two-time Olympian.
You played doubles with your brother as well.
I'm just thinking about that sort of language,
the communication, that innate understanding.
That'll help the LeBrons, won't it?
It's almost a chemistry that can't be matched
when you grow up with someone
and spend that much time with them.
You can almost just communicate without communicating.
They're so in rhythm together.
The chemistry is near perfection.
And they're so young, it's only gonna get better.
Well, it's pretty amazing already.
Five-two in the second, having won the first in a hurry.
This time they look at one another
in a bit of bewilderment as that one just goes astray.
Yeah, they're thinking we should be up six-two right now.
I'm sorry, brother.
Six-three.
That's okay, they make up a little low five
as they pick up another six-three.
Oh my goodness, what a receive, but then that happened.
How does he get there?
I don't know.
And he hits a winner.
I mean, he didn't just get there,
he re-looped it, like you said.
That's incredible.
12 of the last 16 points have gone to the LeBrons.
Four-seven.
Seven.
Not quite this time.
Seven-five.
Ahn Jae-hyun looks to try and just galvanize
this Korean pair.
Let's talk about what we've seen from them so far.
What do they need to do better?
Well, they're doing a lot better this game than last game.
They've gotta cope with the quickness and speed
of the LeBron brothers.
And they did well that point.
Seven-six.
So they need to extend the rally
to keep the ball in play a bit longer.
And look at that, straight back from the timeout.
Eight.
And there's another one, and now it's nine-six,
and it's getting a little bit risky here
for Im and Ahn.
More than a little bit risky now
because they face four game points against
with LeBrons serving.
When he's good, he's so emphatic, Im Jong-hoon.
That's incredible right there.
What speed and power.
Did you say speed and power?
The Korean pair blasting their way out of the corner,
but they still are facing two game points.
That point caught the attention of the crowd.
How about this?
They're back within one.
Still serving.
Make that juice.
What a fight back.
Boy, that happened so quickly too, just like that.
Korea deuces this game up with perfect play.
Oh, there you go.
That's how you fire a fire with fire.
This is just an unbelievable shot.
The serve goes long.
He's got that kind of heat on him,
and he comes up with that,
and it hits the edge right at the end, and he goes down.
That's Alexi giving everything.
Game point again.
Great answer by Korea.
So much on that.
Too much for Felix to handle.
And now the frustration,
because this is getting really tense.
Key moment here at the end of the second game.
They've taken six of the last eight points,
the Koreans, giving themselves a chance to level.
And they do level at one all.
Watch the short play at the beginning of this point.
Oh, we go right into the attacks at the end.
It's incredible how both teams are so good
with these cuts in the short play.
The brothers have just got to try
and calm themselves a bit here.
We saw Felix whacking himself in the head
with the racket at the end of that game.
Good advice.
They heard you, John.
Paid off.
And then a double LeBrun attack earns the second point.
If you give him room to do that,
Alexi's going to punish you.
Boy, he didn't have much room.
That ball hit the net edge.
This time the heat coming from Angelo.
So this is tight again,
just as it was at the end of that second game.
Remember, they had a 10-5 lead, the LeBruns, but lost it.
This all starts with the great serves of Felix.
He got a pop-up right here,
and then the offense began.
Oh, there's a nice serve.
And when there's an opportunity,
Im Jong-hun goes hunting.
He covers the ground so well.
That was a beautiful receive,
that's what I meant to say,
off that Felix serve.
Okay, the whole match,
Alexi has just been a receiving king,
just jumping on serves time after time like that.
Get by Alexi, but Felix can't reproduce it.
That camera angle was incredible.
We could really see how the athletes
have to move out of the way of each other.
It takes so much speed to get out of each other's way.
Having quick legs is an even bigger advantage in doubles.
But the speed of the flick with the backhand there
from Im Jong-hun, who's just really upped his game
over the last few points,
sees the Koreans edge back in front.
What a receive.
That's too good by Im.
And you heard the grunt, John.
I mean, he didn't just throw some speed at you,
you have to deal with the grunt.
Watch this right here.
He's an absolutely incredible power player at his best.
And the most experienced player on that table
at 28 years old as well,
just at the moment helping steer his pair
to a three-point lead,
having leveled this match up at 1-1.
It's four points now,
and the LeBrons, having gone through the timeout,
find themselves in a bit of trouble here.
This is an incredible turnaround by Korea.
Five game points, Jimmy.
This was 1-0, 10-5 the other way.
And now, they make it two games to one.
I was just saying, Jimmy,
you talk about the pace and industry
of the LeBrons around the table,
but we've seen a physicality,
whether it's the grunting or the nature of the play
from the Korean pair,
that's seen them really assume dominance here.
And even then, when it was coming back
from that break between the games,
Im Jong-hun sort of got in the way of Felix a little bit.
They're looking at Alpha at the moment.
Korea just really got hot in that second game,
and then was able to ride that into the last game.
And boy, right at the last minute, you're down 10-5.
I mean, the odds of you winning that game are close to zero.
Well, they needed that.
The LeBrons, they get their first point of the game
that they need to win.
And remember, they need to win two now
to take the trophy home.
Crowd getting into this one.
It's just got a bit louder in here, isn't it?
From the players, from the fans.
Watch him go for this when he misses,
but look at the power he's going for on the receive.
That's a big bully right there.
Well, that power play from the Koreans
has really taken them to this position of dominance.
They've wrestled control of this match.
Winning so many points early in the rally.
It's really important that the LeBron brothers
keep their heads up right now because they are wilting.
Nothing's going their way.
Wow, that got the crowd going.
Watch this power right here.
Oh, there was a, was there a card shot?
Yeah, two legs in front.
Now it's about discipline.
The brothers must keep it.
It's not a lost cause, but it's a long, long way back.
They trail by six.
And as that one drifts long,
the Koreans know that this one's here for the taking.
This shot's pretty ridiculous right here.
Watch this backhand.
I mean, how do you do that down the line
with that kind of speed coming at you?
Oh, he's gone for it again.
Misses this time,
but they're looking to put this match away right now.
Championship points.
How quickly has this turned around?
There you go.
That was a LeBron point.
No championship points.
And they get a little bit closer as well.
Ooh, bit of power from Alexi.
He hit that one with meaning.
Well, that's a good way to come back.
Timeout not having the desired effect for the Koreans.
That ball hit the edge again.
Two edges in a row for France.
And they're on the brink
because now it is championship point.
They have four of them.
And fittingly, there was a powerful deep stroke
to set it up.
Lads.
Six, ten.
They do it.
Eleven, six.
Game and match to On and Lim.
On and Lim wins three games to one.
