Emirates Ordering A350-1000_

We are on the eve of the 2025 edition of the Dubai Air Show. How exciting! It's come around
just like that and one of the biggest stories to come out pre-show has been Emirates reportedly set
to order the A350-1000 again, yes again, with 30 units of interest including options for more.
Bloomberg News reporting that discussions are ongoing with several sources identifying that
planemaker and major global airline are seeking to try and reach an agreement. For an airline that
is aiming to grow its fleet and rely more on high capacity models as I'm sure you've been
made aware here on the channel, it is no secret that obviously a model like the A350-1000 would
be an optimal choice and many people have already been arguing in the comments and on forums that
the A350-1000 would probably be better for them considering it is certified and they know they
can get their hands on it. A possible order for the A350-1000 does still need to be finalized and
what that means is it's subject to change, especially for an airline like Emirates which
we know has seen deals collapse in the final minute and remembering this is representative
of a repeat order. See, the airline already purchased the A350-1000 that came during the
2007 edition of the Dubai Air Show where it committed to the A350 for the first time. I say
first time because this entire deal would eventually be shelved, the airline would then
return sometime later and commit to the program once more. With the possibility of the A350-1000
joining the order book, Emirates would look to rely on the A350 and 777X families for its long
haul flying needs, with the high capacity model of each program selected as well. The prospect of
adding the A350-1000 follows an intense period where there's been a lot of drive in conversation
from Emirates around the need of larger aircraft to be added to its fleet. With the A380-800 only
continuing to age and remember calls for an A380neo going unanswered, Emirates has shifted
its attention to currently in production twin engine models from the A350 and 777 family.
I am looking towards the A350-2000 and the 777X. These two models that I've just mentioned are not
currently released. So, an A350-1000 order would not be considered a means to end its interest in
larger planes but a bit of a stopgap to try and get in some planes with higher capacity
to mitigate some of the impact. The airline is still very much interested in those aforementioned
variants that have not formally progressed. You see, under current forecasting, Emirates believes
that it will be hard for the A380 to continue flying beyond 2041 and with Airbus and Boeing
abandoning their interest in super jumbo jets, the Dubai-based customer has had to readjust
its expectations and they will do everything in their power to keep flying the world's largest
passenger plane for as long as possible as we know just how important it is to its day-to-day
operation. But certainly, President Sir Tim Clark knows that the plane won't be around forever and
they need to start making decisions on how they intend to replace them. Sure, the A350-1000
is absolutely going to help their operation moving forward. Many people wished that it
had been included in the A350-900 order from many years back but it wasn't. It certainly though is
not going to fill the shoes of the A380 and on the eve of the Dubai Airshow it's going to be
fascinating to see how this unfolds, the specifications of the deal and whether or
not it actually goes ahead. Stay tuned as always for my coverage on the Dubai Airshow. Be sure
notifications are turned on as I'll be covering it live and making sure that any breaking news
through to you within the hour whether that is on the website or on the YouTube channel.
Appreciate the support, take care and I'll see you tomorrow for as mentioned
the 2025 edition of the Dubai Airshow.
