SLGB003 has a 37 mm case – this is the smallest model with 9R-series movement that GS has ever made.
Material: Titanium High-Intensity, making it much lighter than steel but still very durable.
Bracelet: GS has equipped a 3-step “micro-adjustment” clasp (can be adjusted ±2 mm without tools), something that many GS fans have long awaited.
Crystal: “box” sapphire + anti-reflective coating inside → increased clarity + luxury.
Water resistance: 10 bar.
Anti-magnetic: designed to resist magnetic fields of about 4,800 A/m
Dial Design & Aesthetics
The dial is inspired by the “ice forest” → delicate embossed pattern, silver-light blue color is very “frozen / icy”.
The “temper blue” second hand is very suitable for the “cold / ice” theme.
The case back has a sapphire crystal to reveal the calibre 9RB2, very beautifully finished: polished edges (bevel), frosted surface (frosted), rubies like winter stars → very artistic

Today is an extremely special day and a very cool video for all of you and for me.
Today we get to take a closer look at a brand new Grand Seiko with their new updated spring
drive movement inside.
This one has a gorgeous dial and a perfect layout, but before we dig into all of its
details, we'll invite you to subscribe to the channel.
The reference number for this new watch is the SLGB003.
It has a 37mm diameter with a 44.3mm lug-to-lug distance.
It's 11.4mm thick, 20mm of lug width, and is powered by the 9RB2 spring drive movement
manufactured by Grand Seiko.
When Grand Seiko first introduced the Evolution 9 collection with the original white birch,
there were a few notes of feedback from the watch collection community.
It took a little bit of time, but seemingly with this beautiful new watch, Grand Seiko
has answered the call for all of those.
First off, this sizing is a lot more in line with what modern collectors are calling for
all over the internet at 37mm with a slimmer lug width of just 20mm as opposed to the 22mm
on the original Evolution 9.
What they didn't change is of course their calling card of these magnificently manufactured
beautiful dials.
This one has an excellent icy blue color with a beautiful cross-hatched looking frosty pattern.
The metal finishing on this beautiful high intensity titanium case and bracelet is second
to none as always.
Grand Seiko always takes great pride in their metal finishing, not only on the case and
bracelet, but also on the indices and hands, which look fantastic.
They have great reflective properties and really shine when in different lighting conditions.
If you have a chance to get hands on with this or any other Grand Seiko timepiece, I
highly recommend it.
The beauty can truly only best be seen in person, however this video does a pretty good
job as you can see here.
The case is a nice 11.4mm thickness case with beautiful details including the Grand Seiko
signature here on the crown on the right side.
You can see there are different chamfered edges giving great interest in difference
between brushed and polished surfaces and you noticed it had drilled lugs making it
easy to change the strap.
In addition to a few other upgrades, this amazing watch features the brand new 9RB2
spring drive caliber from Grand Seiko.
This takes the spring drive functionality and elevates it to an even new higher level
with a plus or minus 20 second deviation per year.
Operation of the movement stays the same with this screw down crown on the right side of
the case and you have a standard three hand as well as a date at the 3 o'clock position.
Not only is this 9RB2 impressively accurate but it's also exquisitely beautiful.

You can see that this looks highly customized and truly high horology.
Nothing in terms of design or metal finishing was overlooked here on the back side of the
movement including having a very functional spring drive power reserve indicator on the
back.
Often times people on the internet are not huge fans of a Grand Seiko bracelet.
I've never quite understood the complaints however the only one that was ever concrete
was the lack of a micro adjust on the bracelet.
Well Grand Seiko answered the call with this beautiful new clasp design.
You can see here that it's still quite thin and extremely wearable especially in that
titanium construction but when you take a look on the underside here you'll notice a
brand new on the fly adjustment mechanism.
This should really make watch collectors happy although it does come with a little bit of
a price tag when combined with that movement.
You lift up the bracelet like this, put a little bit of pressure and you're able to
slide that back and forth giving you a little bit of extra wiggle room when going throughout
the day without the need for tools to adjust the bracelet size.
This is very functional.
I only fumbled with it a little bit because my thumb was recently dislocated.
You will have a much better time using this than I did.
This 37mm case is a little bit smaller than I would typically wear here on my 8 inch wrist
but I know there are many within the watch collecting community that revere these beautiful
modern slimmed down cases like this.
This premium watch has an associated premium price tag of $11,400 US dollars though you
are truly getting a high horology piece with this amazing new wrist watch.
This watch is absolutely beautiful and comes with some fantastic Japanese engineering inside.
