Not just my first wedding in Vietnam, but my first ever Vietnamese AND Korean wedding!
Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your special day ‪@TravelWithNala‬

When I landed in Da Nang, I messaged David straight away. So we became friends with David pretty much as soon as we landed in Vietnam.
It's a weird full 360 moment being at their wedding. I was watching videos of them from my sofa in Leeds, England in 2024 and then in 2025, I'm at their wedding, in his Youtube Video. How crazy is that?
When I was in England I never thought once that this time next year I'll be friends with this couple and I'll probably end up on their channel someday.
It's such a crazy thought and in reality I had no idea I was going to reside in Vietnam for a few years.

This was my first ever Vietnamese wedding, and I had no idea what to expect. I honestly thought it would have been traditional outfits but I didn’t understand the Vietnam wedding dress code, so I had to run around Da Nang buying a whole new outfit. Only to come home and realise my Vietnamese wedding outfit was unnecessary and not needed, so I had to go out the next day and buy a whole new outfit again!
This vlog shows the full experience of attending a traditional Vietnamese wedding ceremony as an expat.
If you’ve never been to a wedding in Vietnam, the traditions, the outfits, the food, and the celebrations are completely different. They have a big drinking culture at weddings and if somebody offers you a drink you DRINK it!
Living in Vietnam as a foreigner means experiencing Korean-Vietnamese culture, friendships, and local traditions. They also had an after party which is called a post-wedding party when the two families get together with friends for karaoke, food and dancing. This is a Vietnamese tradition to celebrate a new beginning with both of the families.

This was one of the most wholesome wedding experiences I’ve had since moving to Vietnam. It was hilarious two days before the wedding, then stressful the day before the wedding and then super wholesome and fun over the entire wedding weekend.

Also, if you love Kim's wedding dress, so do I - I have partnered up with the same bridal company in Da Nang to offer luxury couture bridal dresses to brides in the UK! Drop me an email if you interested in this. It's luxury couture, made attainable.
