UPS Cargo Plane That Fatally Crashed Had Engine Mount Crack, Federal Investigators Say

Federal investigators released telling images on Thursday showing the engine of a UPS cargo plane separating from the aircraft moments before it crashed in Louisville, Kentucky, on Nov. 4, killing 14 people on board and nearby.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) revealed that the engine mount was already cracking before the catastrophic failure. Cracks had developed in the left wing's engine mount, a critical component that holds engines in place during flight.
