from 1913 to 1921 so far he is the only president to earn a PhD or doctor of Philosophy degree Wilson was a progressive and raised taxes on the American people after leading America into World War I he tried to stop future Wars by creating the League of Nations are you guys ready to play the game yes then let's get started the youngest player goes first everybody get your hands on in the bowl now let's take those blindfolds off and see what those messes are ladies first W what the heck is this so in both of your bowls you have cotton candy and ramtin it's an Islander fruit have you ever seen such a hairy fruit in your life uh- yes a peach I guess peaches are kind of hairy too and a sear too well next time we'll make sure get you a baby SE urchin it's what you deserve and now back to woodro Wilson next question is for Maverick President Wilson supported which policy towards black Americans in government a integration B affirmative action or C segregation C segregation that is correct segregation Wilson was a Virginian who accepted the South system of segregation many black Americans had important jobs in the government but Wilson's policies took opportunities away from that is correct World War I when World War I broke out in Europe in 1914 President Wilson tried to keep the United States out of the war however after German submarines attacked several American ships Wilson asked Congress to declare war in 1917 do you know what this is yes this was in your hand oh yeah I'm glad you know so satisfying oh yeah oh yeah listen closely so oddly satisfying I just can't explain it kind of smells like bacon ah sometimes next question is for Maverick which International Organization did President Wilson create to keep the peace after World War I I don't know let's see if Ruby can steal it I'm not sure ooh the correct answer is the League of Nations during peace negotiations at the end of World War I Wilson helped establish an international organization called the League of Nations he hoped this organization would prevent another world war from breaking out unfortunately the league failed to stop the outbreak of World War 2 in 1939 the fun is just now getting
