Hugh Jackman On Keeping His 21-Year Marriage Strong_ The Crazy Ups _ Crazy Downs

I'm literally the adult in this relationship. Like, from the moment we met, I was the... She's just like a... like a little kid. Fun, fun. I don't know her well, but I've had an opportunity. Spontaneous. I've always believed that in marriage, you know you're going to go through ups and downs. And there were some crazy ups, and there were some crazy downs in that period. And one of the great pieces of fortune in my career, it started late, but that Deb and I were already set together, a team, manly in love. Like, literally before it all happened. So that we can kind of see all the ups and downs for what they are. Our priority is our family, and we're there for each other. And no matter what, if you ever see me, like even at the Oscars, I walk out, I put my hand on my heart, and I always look to Deb in the audience. And it's just this reminder to me, and straight afterwards, I will not see anybody in my dressing room until Deb's been in. Because that is the foundation of our family, and therefore my life. Everything else is this kind of what happens on the surface. But underneath the surface, where it's real, where it's still, and where it's deep, that is the love I have with Deb.
