Take a full tour of the Absolute Navetta 58, a fast trawler-style yacht powered by twin Volvo IPS600s with Seakeeper gyro stabilisation. With a spacious layout, joystick control, and the ability to cruise efficiently at higher speeds, this 17.4-metre GRP yacht is ideal for those who want trawler looks without full displacement limitations. Subscribe for more walkthroughs like this.
Now, most of the boats I feature are full displacement,
steel-built Explorers,
designed to cruise long distances at slow, steady speeds.
But this one's a bit different.
It's the Absolute Navetta 58,
and while it carries those same trawler-style lines,
it's built in GRP, it runs on IPS drives,
and it accrues at a much faster pace.
What I like is that you still get loads of volume,
great deck spaces, and a really smart layout below,
but it's all wrapped in something that's easier to handle
and quicker to get where you're going.
Stick around because there's a lot to see on board this boat,
and if you haven't already,
please don't forget to hit the subscribe button.
It's a great way to support the channel.
I think at the time of making this video,
we've got 113,000 subscribers,
so let's see how quickly we can get to 150,000 subscribers.
But anyway, let me show you around
this absolutely stunning boat.
And don't forget to check out my link tree.
It's where I feature hand-picked boats
currently available for sale and charter.
You'll also find all of my top playlists there,
including members-only content,
behind-the-scenes access, and exclusive tours.
There are direct links to brokers' listings
for every boat I've featured that's for sale
or available for charter.
And if you've got access to a boat
you'd like me to feature on the channel,
that's where to reach me.
The link's pinned in the comments
and in the video description.
Before we get started,
if you'd like to check out the main specifications
of this boat, then hit the pause button now.
For me, this style of yacht with its trawler-style lines
and raised profile is ideal for someone
who loves the aesthetic of an explorer-style motor yacht,
but doesn't necessarily plan to live aboard
for years or cross oceans at seven knots.
Maybe you've got a boat in the Mediterranean
a few days off work,
and you want to make the most of that time
by exploring multiple destinations quickly and comfortably.
That's where these fast trawler-style motor yachts
come into their own.
You're not setting course for Greenland
in the depths of winter,
but you've still got a hull that can handle rough conditions
with a performance that covers serious ground
in a short time,
and the volume to enjoy it in comfort when you get there.
As you can see, we have a huge swim platform back here.
It is hydraulic as well,
so if you've got your tender on board
and you've got your chocks in the right place,
you can launch and recover your tender
using the huge swim platform just there.
Also, you can see we have the passerelle
on the starboard side,
two sets of steps that lead up into the cockpit as well,
and that is where we get access into the engine room
as well as the crew quarters.
So this boat does have crew accommodation on board as well,
and of course, we'll have a look around there
later on in the video.
But first, I think what we would do is we'd jump on board.
I'll show you around the cockpit first,
so you can see this area,
and then we'll head around the upper deck.
We'll do the flybridge,
and then we'll have a look around the accommodation
and finish in the engine room.
As you can see, plenty of seating here along the transom,
a very nice area, very spacious.
Of course, we have an overhang here as well,
so we're protected from the elements,
and that's really nicely lit as well.
You can see all the LED lighting in there.
Just behind us, we have a cover.
That can be lowered down as well.
So if it's the midday sun,
and you're trying to escape,
you can get some really nice refuge from that in this area.
The table down here, this is fixed in to the deck,
and you can see we've got some freestanding furniture
next to it as well.
That hatch on the deck, that leads down into the engine room.
When we go in the engine room,
we will use the door on the transom to go in there
rather than accessing the engine room via that hatch.
Over here to my right,
you can see we have a docking station
with the IPS joystick there as well.
So if you are coming stern to on this boat,
having that there obviously makes it
a lot more straightforward.
And having the IPS as well,
I would really like to get my hands on an IPS boat
and just kind of play around with it,
because I've never actually used IPS on a boat before,
but I can imagine it is a complete game changer.
Also, you can see the sliding doors
that lead into the saloon.
So when they are open,
you've got a really good connection
between the exterior space here in the cockpit and the saloon.
Again, when you're at anchor, very nice setup.
You can see where we boarded,
we do have a boarding gate as well.
So if you've got children on board,
when you're away at sea, that would be shut.
And it's the same over there on the port side as well.
Very straightforward in terms of the arrangement
for dealing with the lines on this boat.
You can see everything is pretty much where you need it.
Good access.
I love these pillars as well.
Really heavy duty stuff.
And if I move over to my left,
you can see here we have the staircase
that leads up to the flyer bridge.
And there is a huge amount of space up there,
as you'll see later on in the video.
I love the way the indirect lighting
is kind of dotted around here as well.
Again, I can imagine at night,
this boat looks absolutely stunning
when it's all lit up.
Just down there you can see
we've got some storage for the lines.
And over there we have the controls for the passerelle.
Okay, let's move forward up to the bow,
along the starboard side deck.
You can see really high bulwarks here.
We've got a handrail, stainless steel handrail
that runs along there as well.
The overhang is really nice on here.
And again, really good lighting all the way along here.
So it feels like you are on a very nice,
very luxurious boat, which of course this is.
Just down there to my left,
that is where you can stow your lines behind there.
And on the deck, that lifts up
and reveals the filler cap for the diesel tanks.
So there's a good amount of space down here.
The windows to my left that lead into the saloon,
as you can see, they're absolutely huge.
They are tinted as well.
So you do get that privacy when you are alongside
or when you're at anchor with other boats.
But yeah, it's very straightforward walking along here,
nice and clutter-free.
To my left, you can see the door
that leads into the pilot house.
I'll give you a quick glimpse of that just now,
but of course we will take a closer look
at everything on the helm station when we go inside.
Take it two steps up and we emerge out onto the bow.
And what an area we've got here.
So at the moment, all of the sun pads are stowed away.
Just to give you a better idea of what this space looks like
with the cushions in place,
here's how the bow lounge is normally set up.
Loads of seating, fantastic views
and a proper social space when the sun is out.
Really nice seating arrangement.
If I bring the camera,
I'll just show you the pilot house windows.
Look at those two huge windows there
and a really decent-sized overhang up here as well,
of course, which is very important
for when you are motoring during the midday sun.
You don't want all your helm station getting heated up
with the radiated heat from the sun.
So that lip serves a very important purpose.
And we've also got some lighting under there as well.
Yeah, those windows are absolutely huge.
And you'll see the visibility
when I go and stand up by the helm station
and kind of show you around in there.
You'll see how good that visibility is.
But yeah, what a great place to come and sit and relax
and enjoy some sundown.
As you can see,
we've got some more storage compartments there.
Just down there,
we have the controls for the audio entertainment system
and some speakers dotted around as well.
Here we have the backrest there
for the other sun lounging area,
which is probably where you would find me
if I was on this boat and we were at anchor somewhere,
enjoying the sun laying there.
Very important life buoy just underneath that.
And just moving forward,
you can see we've got the arrangement for the windlass,
the chain and a decent sized anchor up there as well,
with some more locker space just over there.
So if I come up to the bow and just bring the camera,
I'm just kind of show you the profile of the boat here
from the bow.
Look at that, very imposing,
yet very elegant view of a beautiful, beautiful boat.
Here, of course,
we have a quick sneak peek of the flybridge
with a hard top up there.
But yeah, let's head off now along the port side deck.
These tinted tempered glass panels
that run almost the full length of the saloon
help to reduce glare, help with heat control.
And of course they look great from the outside.
Okay, let's go up and have a look
around the flybridge actually.
While I'm here, we'll just step up here.
I'm pretty sure you'd be impressed.
I mean, they made the maximum use
of all of the available space up here
because this deck runs pretty much forward
all the way aft.
As you can see, if I just pan around,
this area here, you can kind of use it
according to how you're configuring the boat.
This storage compartment here,
you can remove that if you want to.
You can see this is where we have got
the life raft stowed away.
So there's actually two life rafts on this boat.
Nice decent height on the sea railing up here as well.
And there is the other life raft
just over there on the starboard side.
And here we get a really good view
of that radar arch as well.
Very elegant, very sleek radar arch.
Two Raymarine sat domes, one on the port side,
one over there on the starboard side.
A VHF aerial up there as well,
and a static array Garmin radar.
And if you're wondering what that is
just underneath the radar,
that is a radar reflector as well.
Again, very important safety feature.
I do have them actually in my Amazon store,
my affiliate store.
If you want to go and check them out,
head to the link in the video description
or the one pinned in the comments.
Moving forward over here to my right,
you can see we've got a U-shaped seating area.
Again, very spacious in terms of
how many people you can get in there.
Fixed table there as well.
You do have some cover from the sun
in the form of this cover
that can be retracted back as well.
So you can open up that
and get some shade from the sun down here.
Opposite the U-shaped seating area,
if I just turn around, I'll open this up.
You can see we have a sink.
There isn't a grill installed on this one,
but of course that is where the grill would go
if you did want one.
So yeah, I'll shut that up.
I'll pop open a couple of these for you.
So yeah, there's some covers in there.
Just stowed away for filming.
But it gives you a sense of what you can keep up here
in terms of how much space you do actually have.
Ice maker just down there.
And over here we have the controls for the light.
Moving forward, we take one step up
and we come up to the helm position,
which as you can see is a midship's on this boat.
I love the fact we've got some seating
both to the left and right of the helm position as well.
So L-shaped seating just there.
Again, obviously the covers would ordinarily be on here
in terms of the actual seats,
but it's not being used at the moment.
The boat's not being used at the moment,
so they are stowed away.
But look at this helm position.
Very nice.
Let's go and have a look and see what we've got.
So IPS control just down there to my right.
Throttle control levers for the twin engines.
Multifunction displays.
Two multifunction displays on here, both Garmin.
At the moment you can see the one over there on the right.
That's set up for the charts.
Just down there we have the control for the bow thruster
and also the controls down there for the trim tabs as well.
And over here on my left
is where we've got the radar display as well.
Moving down there, you can see we've got the controls
for the Volvo Penta engines.
Trackpad controls there for the Garmin display
and Garmin autopilot display as well.
I like the fact we've got this wind deflector here,
which is slightly higher than the wind deflector
that runs around the rest of this part of the boat
because I'm pretty sure when you are underway,
you're not gonna get buffeted at all by the wind
thanks to the extra height on that wind deflector.
So again, nice touch.
And I do like these hard tops as well.
You can see if I just bring the camera up here,
we've got something to grab onto up here as well.
Again, very important safety features.
More speakers dotted around.
If I just come and stand over here
and just give you a slow pan around the flybridge
just so you can get a good idea
of how everything is laid out up here.
Here's a quick look with the cushions in place.
Plenty of seating, sunbathing space
and a great spot to relax at anchor or underway.
Very nice chair there as well.
Very comfortable.
Only sat on it for a few minutes, but it was comfortable.
Okay, let's go into the interior now.
Of course, you can see that that can be shut
when you are underway, just in case you were wondering.
If you're going through some really kind of gnarly weather,
that can be shut off.
Come back down into the cockpit.
Again, I'll just give you a quick slow pan around
so you can see how this is all laid out.
Okay, into the saloon we go.
Straight away to my right,
we've got a large U-shaped seating area here.
And immediately you can see the benefit
of those massive windows.
Check out that view.
I mean, obviously it's a hedge at the moment,
but you can imagine being at anchor
in a really kind of picturesque part of the world
and really enjoying the seascape views
thanks to the massive windows on here.
Absolutely stunning.
I love the woodwork in here.
I love the colours.
It gives a very nice, warm, kind of comfy feel in here.
Very cosy.
Really good use of indirect lighting up there
on the deck head.
And obviously the U-shaped seating area,
we have some more seating over there as well.
Freestanding table, so you can move that around.
But a very, very cosy area.
Absolutely love it.
Moving forward, we have two steps.
That takes us up to the galley
and an upper saloon kind of area up here, as you can see.
I'll show you around the galley first.
We have a four burner induction hob.
There is an extractor fan neatly tucked away
just up there.
Plenty of space around here.
Pop open a couple of these for you
just so you can get an appreciation
of how far back they go.
Stainless steel sink over there.
A Siemens oven and some more storage.
Opposite the galley, another U-shaped seating area
just over here as well with another table.
And again, big windows.
If I come and sit down here and show you the view,
it just feels very, very spacious.
It feels like I'm on a boat that is much bigger
than what I'm actually on.
And it's just a fantastic use of the space.
I like the split level living arrangement as well.
I've always been a fan of that.
I'm not entirely sure why, but I just love it.
I think it works really well.
But let me know what you think down in the comments.
While we're here, let's have a look at the helm station
and check that out.
I mean, how much gear have you got there?
It's absolutely loads of stuff.
Again, huge windows mean you get a really good view.
You can just imagine racing through the chop on this boat
and the view that you would get.
By the facts over here,
I'm guessing this is where you can keep your iPad.
If you wanna put another chart up on your iPad,
that's a good place to keep it.
Okay, right, what do we got on the dash here?
So again, two Garmin multifunction displays here.
Down there to my left, we've got a couple of vents.
Again, the controls for the trim tabs
and another track pad control
for the Garmin multifunction display.
A few cup holders just in front of the steering wheel
as well, very sporty steering wheel on there.
Just down to my right,
we have the throttle control levers for the twin engines.
IPS control over here as well.
Again, the controls for the bow thruster.
And just over here to my right,
you probably noticed that this boat
does have a seakeeper on it as well.
But yeah, if I bring the camera up just to my eyeline again,
just so you can get a sense of
just how commanding the view is on this boat.
And of course, when you're underway,
you wanna chat to your guests, your family,
all you gotta do is just spin around
and you can chat away.
While you're on autopilot, keeping an eye on things.
Very, very comfortable seat here as well.
You can either stand up or you can sit down
depending on, I guess, what you're doing.
If you're on a long voyage, very, very comfortable seat.
Just behind us, we have some storage for VHF radio
and another VHF radio just up there as well.
And of course, there we have the door
that leads out onto the starboard side deck.
But yeah, let's just take a moment to take this in.
Very nice, very sporty, very modern.
I really do like these boats, I really do.
Okay, let's go down into the accommodation area.
Or if you do wanna get some paper charts,
you can quite easily set one up over there
if you wanted to.
Okay, again, very spacious down here.
I love the way that everything is lit up
with the use of the indirect lighting.
I like this companion way here
and we take a few steps down there
and that will take us down into the owner's cabin.
But let's start by having a look
around the guest cabin first
because I was very impressed when I came in here
just because of the level of finish really,
the space that you get.
I really like the vertical windows in here.
We do have a porthole over there as well.
It's very elegant, very nice.
The color of the wood match with the palettes
of the panels in here, I think goes down really well.
And I love this little valancy area just over here.
So when your other half has finished putting her makeup on,
if you wanted to set your laptop up there
and quickly check on some emails
before you go out for the night,
then you can quite easily pull up a chair,
get your laptop out and yeah,
just keep up to date with everything.
You can get access to the bed
both along the left-hand side
and over here on the right-hand side of the bed as well.
Some nice cubby spaces in there for some storage.
I'll open this up for you just so you can get a sense
of how much hanging wardrobe space you get in here.
Nice big en suite as well.
So we've got a toilet down there,
decent size sink, big mirrors.
Then come in here and practice your salutes
before you come alongside.
Nice decent size shower in there with a little seat.
So if you do want to have Adobe
whilst it's a bit choppy,
you can sit down there and anchor yourself in.
Port hole just over there.
I'll take a step in because when I come in,
you actually, you've got about an inch
of additional head space in here
just because the deck is lowered slightly.
So good amount of headroom in here.
You're not gonna be kind of bending over
when you're having a shower.
No one likes bending over when you're having a shower, right?
Okay, skylight just up there.
And if I just come and stand over here
and just give you a nice kind of slow pan
so you can see how this area is set up.
Very nice, very cosy.
You can lower those curtains as well.
I mean, the windows do have privacy glass,
but if you just wanted some,
get some sleep during the day, I guess.
If you've been on watch during an overnight passage,
you can shut those curtains and get some shut eye in here.
Okay, just over here on this bulkhead,
we have the controls for the climate control.
And as I step back out here,
you can see we have another head just down here
that'll be used by the second guest cabin,
which I'll show you in just a second.
Another shower over there.
A big sink there with some more storage underneath.
Again, plenty of headroom, really well lit.
Let's take a step in.
You can see we've got a big porthole there as well.
So yeah, good amount of space.
I like it.
We'll come back out into the companionway now
and shift our attention to the twin single guest cabin.
So we take a step in here.
If I bring the camera up,
you can see how much headroom you get in here.
Absolutely loads.
Two portholes over there.
Again, very nicely lit.
This is a good space.
And I think that if you're gonna be going away
with your children or even adults,
plenty of space in here.
There's enough space in here
so you're not actually living on top of each other.
Reading lights.
And of course we've got a space to keep all of our iPads
and phones while they're on charge and everything else.
And it's surrounded by mirrors.
I think the good placement of these mirrors
give an extra sense of depth in here as well.
If I just come and step back up here again,
close the door, open this one,
you can see we have a lit hanging wardrobe in there.
Come back out here again and we'll spin around,
come down these two steps to show you the master cabin,
which is full beam.
And check this out, straight away over here to my right,
we have a vanity area.
Again, when it's not in use,
you can put your computer up there,
set up your little kind of workstation if you want to.
But yeah, look at this.
Really, really good use of the full beam on this boat.
Over there, we have a seating area.
So a great place, again, get up in the morning,
read a paper, a magazine,
or read some stuff on your iPad.
Just chill out.
Just generally chill out before your day
of cruising around the coast.
Nice big vertical windows in here,
porthole just over there as well.
In fact, if I could just come over here and take a seat,
just so you can take in the view.
Very nice king size bed here.
You can walk all the way around that bed,
but look how much space you get even in front of the bed.
For a boat of this size, that's a lot of space.
Again, very nicely lit, really good lighting,
couple of reading lights over there,
plenty of power sockets,
so you can plug in your computer or whatever it is
you want to plug in over there.
Little table there to rest your coffee on.
I'm always a big fan of the way that boats are lit,
and I think it just gives you a sense
of how comfortable a boat is,
how much attention has gone into the lighting.
Tells you a lot about how much attention
has gone into the other parts of the boat,
in my humble opinion.
More vertical windows there.
Another porthole, and more storage there
for all of your stuff.
I won't open them up, because I don't know what's in them.
I don't want to invade the privacy of the owner.
If I just take a step back here,
you can see we have a nice TV on that bulkhead.
Behind here, some hanging locker space.
You can see if I open this up,
again, that has its own light in there as well.
Plenty of space to keep all of your stuff,
and a little fire extinguisher bracket down there as well.
Very, very nice.
I'll come over here and just stand in the corner,
and again, just give you a nice slow pan around the area,
just so you get a sense
of how everything is laid out in here.
Over here on this bulkhead,
the controls for the climate control.
I'll take a step back up here and show you the en suite.
So, decent size sink there, plenty of mirrors.
The toilet, just over there to my right.
If I take a step back and just kind of spin around,
show you the shower.
Nice size shower in here.
Again, with a seat,
so you can kind of anchor yourself in there.
If you are having Adobe whilst you're underway,
and if you are wondering if you want to get some privacy
when you get your head down,
we have a door that slides across there.
And if you're wondering where the washer dryer is,
it's stowed away just under there.
So yeah, you can clean all your stuff and get it dry
before you come alongside again.
Okay, let's back up.
And what we will do now is come back up into the saloon,
and then we'll head down into the engine room,
so I can show you around there.
And just while we walk back,
just to remind that,
don't forget to subscribe to the channel.
And if you've got access to a boat
you'd like me to feature on my channel,
please don't hesitate to get in contact with me.
You can find all of my contact details
via the link in the video description
or the one pinned in the comments.
So here we have access into what is the crew cabin
and also the engine room as well.
So the current owners of this boat,
they haven't ever had any crew on board.
It's an owner operator.
So at the moment,
this is pretty much just set up as a storage area,
as you can see.
But one of the bunks will be located here
with the controls for the climate control for this area.
Good windows down here for a crew cabin of this size.
That one can be opened up as well.
And over here to my right,
you can get another bunk in there as well.
Now, ordinarily there would be a door here
that would lead into the en suite.
So you'd have a toilet and a shower in there as well
with a sink just opposite.
But as I say,
the current owners don't have,
they've never had any crew on board.
We move through here into the engine room.
Down here in the engine room,
the boat is powered by twin Volvo Penta D6 435s
on IPS 600 pods.
That gives you 435 horsepower per side
with joystick control and Skyhook positioning
for easy docking and station keeping.
These engines are paired with IPS gearboxes
that were renewed in 2021.
And the engine room itself, as you can see,
is very clean, extremely well laid out and easy to access.
You've got a SeaKeeper SK9 gyro stabilizer
mounted on the center line.
This is a zero speed system that keeps the boat stable
both underway and at anchor.
Fuel capacity is 2,400 liters or about 634 US gallons.
Across twin stainless steel tanks
and a fresh water system holds 600 liters
or around 158 gallons.
There's a 14 KW generator in a soundproof enclosure
with 2000 hours on the clock,
plus five electric bilge pumps,
a manual backup and a full Victron power management system,
including inverter and charger.
Battery banks are AGM
and there's a twin fuel filter system
with changeover valves for redundancy.
Access to all the major systems is good,
including the air con, hydraulics
and the cabola diesel heating,
which also runs the hot water.
It's well organized, thoughtfully installed
and clearly maintained for serious use.
At a cruising speed of around eight knots,
should give you a range of around 450 nautical miles
with both engines burning about 45 liters per hour combined.
Of course, that does depend on the loading conditions.
Flat out, she'll hit 18 knots,
but fuel burn rises sharply,
which naturally brings the range down.
With 2,400 liters or 634 gallons of fuel on board,
she's designed for flexible coastal cruising
when you want to cover ground quickly.
But what do you think of the engine room?
