When you're filming or shooting fast-moving subjects,
autofocus can make or break the shot.
The new LUMIX S1 Mark II cameras take autofocus to another level.
Faster, more accurate, and smarter than ever.
To showcase some of the new improvements and features,
I will demonstrate with the LUMIX S1 Mark IIe.
First, the improved eye and face detection.
The camera recognizes subjects faster and locks on
even when they briefly turn away or are partially obscured.
This means you can track someone walking toward the camera,
Next is tracking autofocus.
Once you select your subject, the S1 Mark II cameras follows them across the frame,
maintaining focus if other subjects pass in front.
This is huge for sports, events, and unpredictable actions.
A new addition is Urban Sports Autofocus Mode.
It's tuned for fast, unpredictable movements in complex environments,
where it's very challenging for standard AI to detect subjects in irregular postures.
With this new AI detection, it can lock onto subjects more easily,
even with distractions in the background.
Just keep in mind that certain recording modes,
like shooting at higher frames than 120 frames a second,
you won't see these autofocus detection modes.
There are two ways to access the Urban Sports Autofocus Mode.
Go down to the menu settings, either on photo or video one page.
Go down to the focus tab and turn on the autofocus detection setting.
Then click detecting subject and make sure the type of subject is selected to human.
Finally, click detection mode for the human and scroll down to select Urban Sports.
The second way to access is a little quicker.
Just press the autofocus mode button,
press up on the back of the control dial if your autofocus detection is turned off,
and then hit the display button to access detecting subject.
Lastly, scroll over and press human and Urban Sports Mode to access the new autofocus mode.
So whether you're capturing portraits, high-speed sports, or cinematic city shots,
the S1 Mark II camera's autofocus is faster, smarter, and more reliable.
So you can focus less on your settings and more on your story.

the S1 Mark IIe, and the S1R Mark II can take your photography and filmmaking to the next level.
